For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or on earth; as there are gods many, and lords many;

2 Thess 2:4 : 4 he that opposeth and exalteth himself against all that is called God or that is worshipped; so that he sitteth in the temple of God, setting himself forth as God.
Deut 10:17 : 17 For Jehovah your God, he is God of gods, and Lord of lords, the great God, the mighty, and the terrible, who regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward.
Jer 2:11 : 11 Hath a nation changed [its] gods, which yet are no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.
