Verse 3

And they said, O Jehovah, the God of Israel, why is this come to pass in Israel, that there should be to-day one tribe lacking in Israel?

Deut 29:24 : 24 even all the nations shall say, Wherefore hath Jehovah done thus unto this land? what meaneth the heat of this great anger?
Josh 7:7-9 : 7 And Joshua said, Alas, O Lord Jehovah, wherefore hast thou at all brought this people over the Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to cause us to perish? would that we had been content and dwelt beyond the Jordan! 8 Oh, Lord, what shall I say, after that Israel hath turned their backs before their enemies! 9 For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land will hear of it, and will compass us round, and cut off our name from the earth: and what wilt thou do for thy great name?
Ps 74:1 : 1 [Maschil of Asaph]. O God, why hast thou cast [us] off for ever? Why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?
Ps 80:12 : 12 Why hast thou broken down its walls, So that all they that pass by the way do pluck it?
Prov 19:3 : 3 The foolishness of man subverteth his way; And his heart fretteth against Jehovah.
Isa 63:17 : 17 O Jehovah, why dost thou make us to err from thy ways, and hardenest our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants' sake, the tribes of thine inheritance.
Jer 12:1 : 1 Righteous art thou, O Jehovah, when I contend with thee; yet would I reason the cause with thee: wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they at ease that deal very treacherously?
