Say{H559} thou, Thus saith{H559} the Lord{H136} Jehovah:{H3069} Shall it prosper?{H6743} shall he not pull up{H5423} the roots{H8328} thereof, and cut off{H7082} the fruit{H6529} thereof, that it may wither;{H3001} that all its fresh springing{H6780} leaves{H2964} may wither?{H3001} and not by a strong{H1419} arm{H2220} or much{H7227} people{H5971} can it be raised{H5375} from the roots{H8328} thereof.

Jer 24:8-9 : 8 And as the bad{H7451} figs,{H8384} which cannot be eaten,{H398} they are so bad,{H7455} surely thus saith{H559} Jehovah,{H3068} So will I give{H5414} up Zedekiah{H6667} the king{H4428} of Judah,{H3063} and his princes,{H8269} and the residue{H7611} of Jerusalem,{H3389} that remain{H7604} in this land,{H776} and them that dwell{H3427} in the land{H776} of Egypt,{H4714} 9 I will even give{H5414} them up to be tossed{H2189} to and fro among all the kingdoms{H4467} of the earth{H776} for evil;{H7451} to be a reproach{H2781} and a proverb,{H4912} a taunt{H8148} and a curse,{H7045} in all places{H4725} whither I shall drive{H5080} them. 10 And I will send{H7971} the sword,{H2719} the famine,{H7458} and the pestilence,{H1698} among them, till they be consumed{H8552} from off the land{H127} that I gave{H5414} unto them and to their fathers.{H1}

Jer 32:5 : 5 and he shall bring{H3212} Zedekiah{H6667} to Babylon,{H894} and there shall he be until I visit{H6485} him, saith{H5002} Jehovah:{H3068} though ye fight{H3898} with the Chaldeans,{H3778} ye shall not prosper?{H6743}
Jer 37:10 : 10 For though ye had smitten{H5221} the whole army{H2428} of the Chaldeans{H3778} that fight{H3898} against you, and there remained{H7604} but wounded{H1856} men{H582} among them, yet would they rise up{H6965} every man{H376} in his tent,{H168} and burn{H8313} this city{H5892} with fire.{H784}

Ezek 17:10 : 10 Yea, behold, being planted,{H8362} shall it prosper?{H6743} shall it not utterly{H3001} wither,{H3001} when the east{H6921} wind{H7307} toucheth{H5060} it? it shall wither{H3001} in the beds{H6170} where it grew.{H6780}
