was he found{H4672} among thieves?{H1590} for as often{H1767} as thou speakest{H1697} of him, thou waggest{H5110} the head. 28 O ye inhabitants{H3427} of Moab,{H4124} leave{H5800} the cities,{H5892} and dwell{H3427} in the rock;{H5553} and be like the dove{H3123} that maketh her nest{H7077} over{H5676} the mouth{H6310} of the abyss.{H6354} 29 We have heard{H8085} of the pride{H1347} of Moab,{H4124} [that] he is very{H3966} proud;{H1343} his loftiness,{H1363} and his pride,{H1347} and his arrogancy,{H1346} and the haughtiness{H7312} of his heart.{H3820} 30 I know{H3045} his wrath,{H5678} saith{H5002} Jehovah,{H3068} that it is nought; his boastings{H907} have wrought nothing.{H6213} 31 Therefore will I wail{H3213} for Moab;{H4124} yea, I will cry out{H2199} for all Moab:{H4124} for the men{H582} of Kir-heres{H7025} shall they mourn.{H1897} 32 With more than the weeping{H1065} of Jazer{H3270} will I weep{H1058} for thee, O vine{H1612} of Sibmah:{H7643} thy branches{H5189} passed over{H5674} the sea,{H3220} they reached{H5060} even to the sea{H3220} of Jazer:{H3270} upon thy summer fruits{H7019} and upon thy vintage{H1210} the destroyer{H7703} is fallen.{H5307} 33 And gladness{H1524} and joy{H8057} is taken{H622} away from the fruitful field{H3759} and from the land{H776} of Moab;{H4124} and I have caused wine{H3196} to cease{H7673} from the winepresses:{H3342} none shall tread{H1869} with shouting;{H1959} the shouting{H1959} shall be no shouting.{H1959} 34 From the cry{H2201} of Heshbon{H2809} even unto Elealeh,{H500} even unto Jahaz{H3096} have they uttered{H5414} their voice,{H6963} from Zoar{H6820} even unto Horonaim,{H2773} to Eglath -{H5697} shelishiyah:{H7992} for the waters{H4325} of Nimrim{H5249} also shall become desolate.{H4923} 35 Moreover I will cause to cease{H7673} in Moab,{H4124} saith{H5002} Jehovah,{H3068} him that offereth{H5927} in the high place,{H1116} and him that burneth incense{H6999} to his gods.{H430} 36 Therefore my heart{H3820} soundeth{H1993} for Moab{H4124} like pipes,{H2485} and my heart{H3820} soundeth{H1993} like pipes{H2485} for the men{H582} of Kir-heres:{H7025} therefore the abundance{H3502} that he hath gotten{H6213} is perished.{H6} 37 For every head{H7218} is bald,{H7144} and every beard{H2206} clipped:{H1639} upon all the hands{H3027} are cuttings,{H1417} and upon the loins{H4975} sackcloth.{H8242} 38 On all the housetops{H1406} of Moab{H4124} and in the streets{H7339} thereof there is lamentation{H4553} every where; for I have broken{H7665} Moab{H4124} like a vessel{H3627} wherein none delighteth,{H2656} saith{H5002} Jehovah.{H3068} 39 How is it broken down!{H2865} [how] do they wail!{H3213} how hath Moab{H4124} turned{H6437} the back{H6203} with shame!{H954} so shall Moab{H4124} become a derision{H7814} and a terror{H4288} to all that are round about{H5439} him. 40 For thus saith{H559} Jehovah:{H3068} Behold, he shall fly{H1675} as an eagle,{H5404} and shall spread{H6566} out his wings{H3671} against Moab.{H4124} 41 Kerioth{H7152} is taken,{H3920} and the strongholds{H4679} are seized,{H3920} and the heart{H3820} of the mighty men{H1368} of Moab{H4124} at that day{H3117} shall be as the heart{H3820} of a woman{H802} in her pangs.{H6887} 42 And Moab{H4124} shall be destroyed{H8045} from being a people,{H5971} because he hath magnified{H1431} himself against Jehovah.{H3068} 43 Fear,{H6343} and the pit,{H6354} and the snare,{H6341} are upon thee, O inhabitant{H3427} of Moab,{H4124} saith{H5002} Jehovah.{H3068} 44 He that fleeth{H5127} from{H6440} the fear{H6343} shall fall{H5307} into the pit;{H6354} and he that getteth up{H5927} out of the pit{H6354} shall be taken{H3920} in the snare:{H6341} for I will bring{H935} upon him, even upon Moab,{H4124} the year{H8141} of their visitation,{H6486} saith{H5002} Jehovah.{H3068} 45 They that fled{H5127} stand{H5975} without strength{H3581} under the shadow{H6738} of Heshbon;{H2809} for a fire{H784} is gone forth{H3318} out of Heshbon,{H2809} and a flame{H3852} from the midst{H996} of Sihon,{H5511} and hath devoured{H398} the corner{H6285} of Moab,{H4124} and the crown of the head{H6936} of the tumultuous{H7588} ones.{H1121} 46 Woe{H188} unto thee, O Moab!{H4124} the people{H5971} of Chemosh{H3645} is undone;{H6} for thy sons{H1121} are taken{H3947} away captive,{H7628} and thy daughters{H1323} into captivity.{H7633} 47 Yet will I bring back{H7725} the captivity{H7622} of Moab{H4124} in the latter{H319} days,{H3117} saith{H5002} Jehovah.{H3068} Thus far{H2008} is the judgment{H4941} of Moab.{H4124}

Obad 1:1-9 : 1 The vision{H2377} of Obadiah.{H5662} Thus saith{H559} the Lord{H136} Jehovah{H3069} concerning Edom:{H123} We have heard{H8085} tidings{H8052} from Jehovah,{H3068} and an ambassador{H6735} is sent{H7971} among the nations,{H1471} [saying], Arise{H6965} ye, and let us rise up{H6965} against her in battle.{H4421} 2 Behold, I have made{H5414} thee small{H6996} among the nations:{H1471} thou art greatly{H3966} despised.{H959} 3 The pride{H2087} of thy heart{H3820} hath deceived{H5377} thee, O thou that dwellest{H7931} in the clefts{H2288} of the rock,{H5553} whose habitation{H3427} is high;{H4791} that saith{H559} in his heart,{H3820} Who shall bring me down{H3381} to the ground?{H776} 4 Though thou mount on high{H1361} as the eagle,{H5404} and though thy nest{H7064} be set{H7760} among the stars,{H3556} I will bring thee down{H3381} from thence, saith{H5002} Jehovah.{H3068} 5 If thieves{H1590} came{H935} to thee, if robbers{H7703} by night{H3915} (how art thou cut off!),{H1820} would they not steal{H1589} [only] till they had enough?{H1767} if grape-gatherers{H1219} came{H935} to thee, would they not leave{H7604} some gleaning grapes?{H5955} 6 How are [the things of] Esau{H6215} searched!{H2664} how are his hidden{H4710} treasures sought out!{H2664} 7 All the men{H582} of thy confederacy{H1285} have brought{H7971} thee on thy way, even to the border:{H1366} the men{H582} that were at peace{H7965} with thee have deceived{H5377} thee, and prevailed{H3201} against thee; [they that eat] thy bread{H3899} lay{H7760} a snare{H4204} under thee: there is no understanding{H8394} in him. 8 Shall I not in that day,{H3117} saith{H5002} Jehovah,{H3068} destroy{H6} the wise{H2450} men out of Edom,{H123} and understanding{H8394} out of the mount{H2022} of Esau?{H6215} 9 And thy mighty{H1368} men, O Teman,{H8487} shall be dismayed,{H2865} to the end that every one{H376} may be cut off{H3772} from the mount{H2022} of Esau{H6215} by slaughter.{H6993}
Zeph 2:8-9 : 8 I have heard{H8085} the reproach{H2781} of Moab,{H4124} and the revilings{H1421} of the children{H1121} of Ammon,{H5983} wherewith they have reproached{H2778} my people,{H5971} and magnified{H1431} themselves against their border.{H1366} 9 Therefore as I live,{H2416} saith{H5002} Jehovah{H3068} of hosts,{H6635} the God{H430} of Israel,{H3478} Surely Moab{H4124} shall be as Sodom,{H5467} and the children{H1121} of Ammon{H5983} as Gomorrah,{H6017} a possession{H4476} of nettles,{H2738} and saltpits,{H4379} and a perpetual{H5704} desolation:{H8077} the residue{H7611} of my people{H5971} shall make a prey{H962} of them, and the remnant{H3499} of my nation{H1471} shall inherit{H5157} them. 10 This shall they have for their pride,{H1347} because they have reproached{H2778} and magnified{H1431} themselves against the people{H5971} of Jehovah{H3068} of hosts.{H6635} 11 Jehovah{H3068} will be terrible{H3372} unto them; for he will famish{H7329} all the gods{H430} of the earth;{H776} and men shall worship{H7812} him, every one{H376} from his place,{H4725} even all the isles{H339} of the nations.{H1471}
Isa 25:10 : 10 For in this mountain{H2022} will the hand{H3027} of Jehovah{H3068} rest;{H5117} and Moab{H4124} shall be trodden down{H1758} in his place, even as straw{H4963} is trodden down{H1758} in the water of the dunghill.{H4087}
Isa 34:1-9 : 1 Come near,{H7126} ye nations,{H1471} to hear;{H8085} and hearken,{H7181} ye peoples:{H3816} let the earth{H776} hear,{H8085} and the fulness thereof;{H4393} the world,{H8398} and all things that come forth{H6631} from it. 2 For Jehovah{H3068} hath indignation{H7110} against all the nations,{H1471} and wrath{H2534} against all their host:{H6635} he hath utterly destroyed{H2763} them, he hath delivered{H5414} them to the slaughter.{H2874} 3 Their slain{H2491} also shall be cast out,{H7993} and the stench{H889} of their dead bodies{H6297} shall come up;{H5927} and the mountains{H2022} shall be melted{H4549} with their blood.{H1818} 4 And all the host{H6635} of heaven{H8064} shall be dissolved,{H4743} and the heavens{H8064} shall be rolled together{H1556} as a scroll;{H5612} and all their host{H6635} shall fade away,{H5034} as the leaf{H5929} fadeth from off{H5034} the vine,{H1612} and as a fading{H5034} [leaf] from the fig-tree.{H8384} 5 For my sword{H2719} hath drunk{H7301} its fill in heaven:{H8064} behold, it shall come down{H3381} upon Edom,{H123} and upon the people{H5971} of my curse,{H2764} to judgment.{H4941} 6 The sword{H2719} of Jehovah{H3068} is filled{H4390} with blood,{H1818} it is made fat{H1878} with fatness,{H2459} with the blood{H1818} of lambs{H3733} and goats,{H6260} with the fat{H2459} of the kidneys{H3629} of rams;{H352} for Jehovah{H3068} hath a sacrifice{H2077} in Bozrah,{H1224} and a great{H1419} slaughter{H2874} in the land{H776} of Edom.{H123} 7 And the wild-oxen{H7214} shall come down{H3381} with them, and the bullocks{H6499} with the bulls:{H47} and their land{H776} shall be drunken{H7301} with blood,{H1818} and their dust{H6083} made fat{H1878} with fatness.{H2459} 8 For Jehovah{H3068} hath a day{H3117} of vengeance,{H5359} a year{H8141} of recompense{H7966} for the cause{H7379} of Zion.{H6726} 9 And the streams{H5158} of [Edom] shall be turned{H2015} into pitch,{H2203} and the dust{H6083} thereof into brimstone,{H1614} and the land{H776} thereof shall become burning{H1197} pitch.{H2203} 10 It shall not be quenched{H3518} night{H3915} nor day;{H3119} the smoke{H6227} thereof shall go up{H5927} for ever;{H5769} from generation{H1755} to generation{H1755} it shall lie waste;{H2717} none shall pass through{H5674} it for ever{H5331} and ever.{H5331} 11 But the pelican{H6893} and the porcupine{H7090} shall possess{H3423} it; and the owl{H3244} and the raven{H6158} shall dwell{H7931} therein: and he will stretch over{H5186} it the line{H6957} of confusion,{H8414} and the plummet{H68} of emptiness.{H922} 12 They shall call{H7121} the nobles{H2715} thereof to the kingdom,{H4410} but none shall be there; and all its princes{H8269} shall be nothing.{H657} 13 And thorns{H5518} shall come up{H5927} in its palaces,{H759} nettles{H7057} and thistles{H2336} in the fortresses{H4013} thereof; and it shall be a habitation{H5116} of jackals,{H8577} a court{H2681} for ostriches.{H1323} 14 And the wild beasts of the desert{H6728} shall meet{H6298} with the wolves,{H338} and the wild goat{H8163} shall cry{H7121} to his fellow;{H7453} yea, the night-monster{H3917} shall settle{H7280} there, and shall find{H4672} her a place of rest.{H7280} 15 There shall the dart-snake{H7091} make her nest,{H7077} and lay,{H4422} and hatch,{H1234} and gather{H1716} under her shade;{H6738} yea, there shall the kites{H1772} be gathered,{H6908} every one{H802} with her mate.{H7468} 16 Seek ye out{H1875} of the book{H5612} of Jehovah,{H3068} and read:{H7121} no one{H259} of these{H2007} shall be missing,{H5737} none{H802} shall want{H6485} her mate;{H7468} for my mouth,{H6310} it hath commanded,{H6680} and his Spirit,{H7307} it hath gathered{H6908} them. 17 And he hath cast{H5307} the lot{H1486} for them, and his hand{H3027} hath divided{H2505} it unto them by line:{H6957} they shall possess{H3423} it for{H5704} ever;{H5769} from generation{H1755} to generation{H1755} shall they dwell{H7931} therein.
Isa 36:18-20 : 18 Beware lest Hezekiah{H2396} persuade{H5496} you, saying,{H559} Jehovah{H3068} will deliver{H5337} us. Hath any{H376} of the gods{H430} of the nations{H1471} delivered{H5337} his land{H776} out of the hand{H3027} of the king{H4428} of Assyria?{H804} 19 Where are the gods{H430} of Hamath{H2574} and Arpad?{H774} where are the gods{H430} of Sepharvaim?{H5617} and have they delivered{H5337} Samaria{H8111} out of my hand?{H3027} 20 Who are they among all the gods{H430} of these countries,{H776} that have delivered{H5337} their country{H776} out of my hand,{H3027} that Jehovah{H3068} should deliver{H5337} Jerusalem{H3389} out of my hand?{H3027}

Num 24:17 : 17 I see{H7200} him, but not now; I behold{H7200} him, but not nigh:{H7138} There shall come{H1869} forth a star{H3556} out of Jacob,{H3290} And a sceptre{H7626} shall rise{H6965} out of Israel,{H3478} And shall smite{H4272} through the corners{H6285} of Moab,{H4124} And break down{H6979} all the sons{H1121} of tumult.{H8352}

Isa 10:9-9 : 9 Is not Calno{H3641} as Carchemish?{H3751} is not Hamath{H2574} as Arpad?{H774} is not Samaria{H8111} as Damascus?{H1834} 10 As my hand{H3027} hath found{H4672} the kingdoms{H4467} of the idols,{H457} whose graven images{H6456} did excel them of Jerusalem{H3389} and of Samaria;{H8111} 11 shall I not, as I have done{H6213} unto Samaria{H8111} and her idols,{H457} so do{H6213} to Jerusalem{H3389} and her idols?{H6091}
