And one{H259} of the king{H4428} of Israel's{H3478} servants{H5650} answered{H6030} and said,{H559} Elisha{H477} the son{H1121} of Shaphat{H8202} is here, who poured{H3332} water{H4325} on the hands{H3027} of Elijah.{H452} 12 And Jehoshaphat{H3092} said,{H559} The word{H1697} of Jehovah{H3068} is{H3426} with him. So the king{H4428} of Israel{H3478} and Jehoshaphat{H3092} and the king{H4428} of Edom{H123} went down{H3381} to him. 13 And Elisha{H477} said{H559} unto the king{H4428} of Israel,{H3478} What have I to do with thee? get{H3212} thee to the prophets{H5030} of thy father,{H1} and to the prophets{H5030} of thy mother.{H517} And the king{H4428} of Israel{H3478} said{H559} unto him, Nay; for Jehovah{H3068} hath called{H7121} these three{H7969} kings{H4428} together{H7121} to deliver{H5414} them into the hand{H3027} of Moab.{H4124} 14 And Elisha{H477} said,{H559} As Jehovah{H3068} of hosts{H6635} liveth,{H2416} before{H6440} whom I stand,{H5975} surely, were it not that{H3884} I regard{H5375} the presence{H6440} of Jehoshaphat{H3092} the king{H4428} of Judah,{H3063} I would not look{H5027} toward thee, nor see{H7200} thee. 15 But now bring{H3947} me a minstrel.{H5059} And it came to pass, when the minstrel{H5059} played,{H5059} that the hand{H3027} of Jehovah{H3068} came upon him. 16 And he said,{H559} Thus saith{H559} Jehovah,{H3068} Make{H6213} this valley{H5158} full of trenches.{H1356} 17 For thus saith{H559} Jehovah,{H3068} Ye shall not see{H7200} wind,{H7307} neither shall ye see{H7200} rain;{H1653} yet that valley{H5158} shall be filled{H4390} with water,{H4325} and ye shall drink,{H8354} both ye and your cattle{H4735} and your beasts.{H929} 18 And this is but a light thing{H7043} in the sight{H5869} of Jehovah:{H3068} he will also deliver{H5414} the Moabites{H4124} into your hand.{H3027} 19 And ye shall smite{H5221} every fortified{H4013} city,{H5892} and every choice{H4004} city,{H5892} and shall fell{H5307} every good{H2896} tree,{H6086} and stop{H5640} all fountains{H4599} of water,{H4325} and mar{H3510} every good{H2896} piece{H2513} of land with stones.{H68} 20 And it came to pass in the morning,{H1242} about the time of offering{H4503} the oblation,{H5927} that, behold, there came{H935} water{H4325} by the way{H1870} of Edom,{H123} and the country{H776} was filled{H4390} with water.{H4325} 21 Now when all the Moabites{H4124} heard{H8085} that the kings{H4428} were come up{H5927} to fight{H3898} against them, they gathered{H6817} themselves together, all that were able to put{H2296} on armor,{H2290} and upward,{H4605} and stood{H5975} on the border.{H1366} 22 And they rose up early{H7925} in the morning,{H1242} and the sun{H8121} shone{H2224} upon the water,{H4325} and the Moabites{H4124} saw{H7200} the water{H4325} over against{H5048} them as red{H122} as blood:{H1818} 23 and they said,{H559} This is blood;{H1818} the kings{H4428} are surely{H2717} destroyed,{H2717} and they have smitten{H5221} each man{H376} his fellow:{H7453} now therefore, Moab,{H4124} to the spoil.{H7998} 24 And when they came{H935} to the camp{H4264} of Israel,{H3478} the Israelites{H3478} rose up{H6965} and smote{H5221} the Moabites,{H4124} so that they fled{H5127} before{H6440} them; and they went forward{H5221} into the land smiting{H5221} the Moabites.{H4124} 25 And they beat down{H2040} the cities;{H5892} and on every good{H2896} piece{H2513} of land they cast{H7993} every man{H376} his stone,{H68} and filled{H4390} it; and they stopped{H5640} all the fountains{H4599} of water,{H4325} and felled{H5307} all the good{H2896} trees,{H6086} until in Kir-hareseth{H7025} [only] they left{H7604} the stones{H68} thereof; howbeit the slingers{H7051} went about{H5437} it, and smote{H5221} it. 26 And when the king{H4428} of Moab{H4124} saw{H7200} that the battle{H4421} was too sore{H2388} for him, he took{H3947} with him seven{H7651} hundred{H3967} men{H376} that drew{H8025} sword,{H2719} to break through{H1234} unto the king{H4428} of Edom;{H123} but they could{H3201} not. 27 Then he took{H3947} his eldest{H1060} son{H1121} that should have reigned{H4427} in his stead, and offered{H5927} him for a burnt-offering{H5930} upon the wall.{H2346} And there was great{H1419} wrath{H7110} against Israel:{H3478} and they departed{H5265} from him, and returned{H7725} to their own land.{H776}

Num 22:1-9 : 1 And the children{H1121} of Israel{H3478} journeyed,{H5265} and encamped{H2583} in the plains{H6160} of Moab{H4124} beyond{H5676} the Jordan{H3383} at Jericho.{H3405} 2 And Balak{H1111} the son{H1121} of Zippor{H6834} saw{H7200} all that Israel{H3478} had done{H6213} to the Amorites.{H567} 3 And Moab{H4124} was sore{H3966} afraid{H1481} of{H6440} the people,{H5971} because they were many:{H7227} and Moab{H4124} was distressed{H6973} because of{H6440} the children{H1121} of Israel.{H3478} 4 And Moab{H4124} said{H559} unto the elders{H2205} of Midian,{H4080} Now will this multitude{H6951} lick up{H3897} all that is round about{H5439} us, as the ox{H7794} licketh up{H3897} the grass{H3418} of the field.{H7704} And Balak{H1111} the son{H1121} of Zippor{H6834} was king{H4428} of Moab{H4124} at that time.{H6256} 5 And he sent{H7971} messengers{H4397} unto Balaam{H1109} the son{H1121} of Beor,{H1160} to Pethor,{H6604} which is by the River,{H5104} to the land{H776} of the children{H1121} of his people,{H5971} to call{H7121} him, saying,{H559} Behold, there is a people{H5971} come out{H3318} from Egypt:{H4714} behold, they cover{H3680} the face{H5869} of the earth,{H776} and they abide{H3427} over against{H4136} me. 6 Come{H3212} now therefore, I pray thee, curse{H779} me this people;{H5971} for they are too mighty{H6099} for me: peradventure I shall prevail,{H3201} that we may smite{H5221} them, and that I may drive them out{H1644} of the land;{H776} for I know{H3045} that he whom thou blessest{H1288} is blessed,{H1288} and he whom thou cursest{H779} is cursed.{H779} 7 And the elders{H2205} of Moab{H4124} and the elders{H2205} of Midian{H4080} departed{H3212} with the rewards of divination{H7081} in their hand;{H3027} and they came{H935} unto Balaam,{H1109} and spake{H1696} unto him the words{H1697} of Balak.{H1111} 8 And he said{H559} unto them, Lodge{H3885} here this night,{H3915} and I will bring{H7725} you word{H1697} again,{H7725} as Jehovah{H3068} shall speak{H1696} unto me: and the princes{H8269} of Moab{H4124} abode{H3427} with Balaam.{H1109} 9 And God{H430} came{H935} unto Balaam,{H1109} and said,{H559} What men{H582} are these with thee? 10 And Balaam{H1109} said{H559} unto God,{H430} Balak{H1111} the son{H1121} of Zippor,{H6834} king{H4428} of Moab,{H4124} hath sent{H7971} unto me, saying, 11 Behold, the people{H5971} that is come out{H3318} of Egypt,{H4714} it covereth{H3680} the face{H5869} of the earth:{H776} now, come{H3212} curse{H6895} me them; peradventure I shall be able{H3201} to fight against{H3898} them, and shall drive them out.{H1644} 12 And God{H430} said{H559} unto Balaam,{H1109} Thou shalt not go{H3212} with them; thou shalt not curse{H779} the people;{H5971} for they are blessed.{H1288} 13 And Balaam{H1109} rose up{H6965} in the morning,{H1242} and said{H559} unto the princes{H8269} of Balak,{H1111} Get{H3212} you into your land;{H776} for Jehovah{H3068} refuseth{H3985} to give me leave{H5414} to go{H1980} with you. 14 And the princes{H8269} of Moab{H4124} rose up,{H6965} and they went{H935} unto Balak,{H1111} and said,{H559} Balaam{H1109} refuseth{H3985} to come{H1980} with us. 15 And Balak{H1111} sent{H7971} yet again{H3254} princes,{H8269} more,{H7227} and more honorable{H3513} than they. 16 And they came{H935} to Balaam,{H1109} and said{H559} to him, Thus saith{H559} Balak{H1111} the son{H1121} of Zippor,{H6834} Let nothing, I pray thee, hinder{H4513} thee from coming{H1980} unto me: 17 for I will promote{H3513} thee unto very{H3966} great{H3513} honor,{H3513} and whatsoever thou sayest{H559} unto me I will do:{H6213} come{H3212} therefore, I pray thee, curse{H6895} me this people.{H5971} 18 And Balaam{H1109} answered{H6030} and said{H559} unto the servants{H5650} of Balak,{H1111} If Balak{H1111} would give{H5414} me his house{H1004} full{H4393} of silver{H3701} and gold,{H2091} I cannot{H3201} go beyond{H5674} the word{H6310} of Jehovah{H3068} my God,{H430} to do{H6213} less{H6996} or more.{H1419} 19 Now therefore, I pray you, tarry{H3427} ye also here this night,{H3915} that I may know{H3045} what Jehovah{H3068} will speak{H1696} unto me more.{H3254} 20 And God{H430} came{H935} unto Balaam{H1109} at night,{H3915} and said{H559} unto him, If the men{H582} are come{H935} to call{H7121} thee, rise up,{H6965} go{H3212} with them; but{H389} only the word{H1697} which I speak{H1696} unto thee, that shalt thou do.{H6213} 21 And Balaam{H1109} rose up{H6965} in the morning,{H1242} and saddled{H2280} his ass,{H860} and went{H3212} with the princes{H8269} of Moab.{H4124} 22 And God's{H430} anger{H639} was kindled{H2734} because he went;{H1980} and the angel{H4397} of Jehovah{H3068} placed{H3320} himself in the way{H1870} for an adversary{H7854} against him. Now he was riding{H7392} upon his ass,{H860} and his two{H8147} servants{H5288} were with him. 23 And the ass{H860} saw{H7200} the angel{H4397} of Jehovah{H3068} standing{H5324} in the way,{H1870} with his sword{H2719} drawn{H8025} in his hand;{H3027} and the ass{H860} turned aside{H5186} out of the way,{H1870} and went{H3212} into the field:{H7704} and Balaam{H1109} smote{H5221} the ass,{H860} to turn{H5186} her into the way.{H1870} 24 Then the angel{H4397} of Jehovah{H3068} stood{H5975} in a narrow path{H4934} between the vineyards,{H3754} a wall{H1447} being on this side, and a wall{H1447} on that side. 25 And the ass{H860} saw{H7200} the angel{H4397} of Jehovah,{H3068} and she thrust{H3905} herself unto the wall,{H7023} and crushed{H3905} Balaam's{H1109} foot{H7272} against the wall:{H7023} and he smote{H5221} her again.{H3254} 26 And the angel{H4397} of Jehovah{H3068} went{H5674} further,{H3254} and stood{H5975} in a narrow{H6862} place,{H4725} where was no way{H1870} to turn{H5186} either to the right hand{H3225} or to the left.{H8040} 27 And the ass{H860} saw{H7200} the angel{H4397} of Jehovah,{H3068} and she lay down{H7257} under Balaam:{H1109} and Balaam's{H1109} anger{H639} was kindled,{H2734} and he smote{H5221} the ass{H860} with his staff.{H4731} 28 And Jehovah{H3068} opened{H6605} the mouth{H6310} of the ass,{H860} and she said{H559} unto Balaam,{H1109} What have I done{H6213} unto thee, that thou hast smitten{H5221} me these three{H7969} times?{H7272} 29 And Balaam{H1109} said{H559} unto the ass,{H860} Because thou hast mocked{H5953} me, I would{H3863} there were{H3426} a sword{H2719} in my hand,{H3027} for now I had killed{H2026} thee. 30 And the ass{H860} said{H559} unto Balaam,{H1109} Am not I thine ass,{H860} upon which thou hast ridden{H7392} all thy life long unto this day?{H3117} was I ever{H5532} wont{H5532} to do so{H6213} unto thee? and he said,{H559} Nay. 31 Then Jehovah{H3068} opened{H1540} the eyes{H5869} of Balaam,{H1109} and he saw{H7200} the angel{H4397} of Jehovah{H3068} standing{H5324} in the way,{H1870} with his sword{H2719} drawn{H8025} in his hand;{H3027} and he bowed{H6915} his head, and fell{H7812} on his face.{H639} 32 And the angel{H4397} of Jehovah{H3068} said{H559} unto him, Wherefore hast thou smitten{H5221} thine ass{H860} these three{H7969} times?{H7272} behold, I am come forth{H3318} for an adversary,{H7854} because thy way{H1870} is perverse{H3399} before me: 33 and the ass{H860} saw{H7200} me, and turned{H5186} aside before me{H6440} these three{H7969} times:{H7272} unless{H194} she had turned{H5186} aside from me,{H6440} surely now I had even slain{H2026} thee, and saved her alive.{H2421} 34 And Balaam{H1109} said{H559} unto the angel{H4397} of Jehovah,{H3068} I have sinned;{H2398} for I knew{H3045} not that thou stoodest{H5324} in the way{H1870} against{H7125} me: now therefore, if it displease thee,{H7489} I will get me back again.{H7725} 35 And the angel{H4397} of Jehovah{H3068} said{H559} unto Balaam,{H1109} Go{H3212} with the men;{H582} but only{H657} the word{H1697} that I shall speak{H1696} unto thee, that thou shalt speak.{H1696} So Balaam{H1109} went{H3212} with the princes{H8269} of Balak.{H1111} 36 And when Balak{H1111} heard{H8085} that Balaam{H1109} was come,{H935} he went out{H3318} to meet{H7125} him unto the City{H5892} of Moab,{H4124} which is on the border{H1366} of the Arnon,{H769} which is in the utmost{H7097} part of the border.{H1366} 37 And Balak{H1111} said{H559} unto Balaam,{H1109} Did I not earnestly{H7971} send{H7971} unto thee to call{H7121} thee? wherefore camest{H1980} thou not unto me? am I not able{H3201} indeed{H552} to promote thee to honor?{H3513} 38 And Balaam{H1109} said{H559} unto Balak,{H1111} Lo, I am come{H935} unto thee: have I now any power{H3201} at all{H3201} to speak{H1696} anything?{H3972} the word{H1697} that God{H430} putteth{H7760} in my mouth,{H6310} that shall I speak.{H1696} 39 And Balaam{H1109} went{H3212} with Balak,{H1111} and they came{H935} unto Kiriath-huzoth.{H2351} 40 And Balak{H1111} sacrificed{H2076} oxen{H1241} and sheep,{H6629} and sent{H7971} to Balaam,{H1109} and to the princes{H8269} that were with him. 41 And it came to pass in the morning,{H1242} that Balak{H1111} took{H3947} Balaam,{H1109} and brought him up{H5927} into the high places{H1116} of Baal;{H1120} and he saw{H7200} from thence the utmost{H7097} part of the people.{H5971}
Num 24:1-9 : 1 And when Balaam{H1109} saw{H7200} that it pleased{H5869} Jehovah{H3068} to bless{H1288} Israel,{H3478} he went{H1980} not, as at the other times,{H6471} to meet{H7125} with enchantments,{H5173} but he set{H7896} his face{H6440} toward the wilderness.{H4057} 2 And Balaam{H1109} lifted up{H5375} his eyes,{H5869} and he saw{H7200} Israel{H3478} dwelling{H7931} according to their tribes;{H7626} and the Spirit{H7307} of God{H430} came upon him. 3 And he took up{H5375} his parable,{H4912} and said,{H559} Balaam{H1109} the son{H1121} of Beor{H1160} saith,{H5002} And the man{H1397} whose eye{H5869} was closed{H8365} saith;{H5002} 4 He saith,{H5002} who heareth{H8085} the words{H561} of God,{H410} Who seeth{H2372} the vision{H4236} of the Almighty,{H7706} Falling{H5307} down, and having his eyes{H5869} open:{H1540} 5 How goodly{H2895} are thy tents,{H168} O Jacob,{H3290} Thy tabernacles,{H4908} O Israel!{H3478} 6 As valleys{H5158} are they spread forth,{H5186} As gardens{H1593} by the river-side,{H5104} As lign-aloes{H174} which Jehovah{H3068} hath planted,{H5193} As cedar-trees{H730} beside the waters.{H4325} 7 Water{H4325} shall flow{H5140} from{H5140} his buckets,{H1805} And his seed{H2233} shall be in many{H7227} waters,{H4325} And his king{H4428} shall be higher{H7311} than Agag,{H90} And his kingdom{H4438} shall be exalted.{H5375} 8 God{H410} bringeth him forth{H3318} out of Egypt;{H4714} He hath as it were the strength{H8443} of the wild-ox:{H7214} He shall eat up{H398} the nations{H1471} his adversaries,{H6862} And shall break{H1633} their bones{H6106} in pieces, And smite{H4272} [them] through with his arrows.{H2671} 9 He couched,{H3766} he lay down{H7901} as a lion,{H738} And as a lioness;{H3833} who shall rouse him up?{H6965} Blessed{H1288} be every one that blesseth{H1288} thee, And cursed{H779} be every one that curseth{H779} thee. 10 And Balak's{H1111} anger{H639} was kindled{H2734} against Balaam,{H1109} and he smote{H5606} his hands{H3709} together;{H5606} and Balak{H1111} said{H559} unto Balaam,{H1109} I called{H7121} thee to curse{H6895} mine enemies,{H341} and, behold, thou hast altogether{H1288} blessed{H1288} them these three{H7969} times.{H6471} 11 Therefore now flee{H1272} thou to thy place:{H4725} I thought{H559} to promote{H3513} thee unto great{H3513} honor;{H3513} but, lo, Jehovah{H3068} hath kept thee back{H4513} from honor.{H3519} 12 And Balaam{H1109} said{H559} unto Balak,{H1111} Spake{H1696} I not also to thy messengers{H4397} that thou sentest{H7971} unto me, saying,{H559} 13 If Balak{H1111} would give{H5414} me his house{H1004} full{H4393} of silver{H3701} and gold,{H2091} I cannot{H3201} go beyond{H5674} the word{H6310} of Jehovah,{H3068} to do{H6213} either good{H2896} or bad{H7451} of mine own mind;{H3820} what Jehovah{H3068} speaketh,{H1696} that will I speak?{H1696} 14 And now, behold, I go{H1980} unto my people:{H5971} come,{H3212} [and] I will advertise{H3289} thee what this people{H5971} shall do{H6213} to thy people{H5971} in the latter{H319} days.{H3117} 15 And he took up{H5375} his parable,{H4912} and said,{H559} Balaam{H1109} the son{H1121} of Beor{H1160} saith,{H5002} And the man{H1397} whose eye{H5869} was closed{H8365} saith;{H5002} 16 He saith,{H5002} who heareth{H8085} the words{H561} of God,{H410} And knoweth{H3045} the knowledge{H1847} of the Most High,{H5945} Who seeth{H2372} the vision{H4236} of the Almighty,{H7706} Falling{H5307} down, and having his eyes{H5869} open:{H1540} 17 I see{H7200} him, but not now; I behold{H7200} him, but not nigh:{H7138} There shall come{H1869} forth a star{H3556} out of Jacob,{H3290} And a sceptre{H7626} shall rise{H6965} out of Israel,{H3478} And shall smite{H4272} through the corners{H6285} of Moab,{H4124} And break down{H6979} all the sons{H1121} of tumult.{H8352} 18 And Edom{H123} shall be a possession,{H3424} Seir{H8165} also shall be a possession,{H3424} [who were] his enemies;{H341} While Israel{H3478} doeth{H6213} valiantly.{H2428} 19 And out of Jacob{H3290} shall one have dominion,{H7287} And shall destroy{H6} the remnant{H8300} from the city.{H5892} 20 And he looked{H7200} on Amalek,{H6002} and took up{H5375} his parable,{H4912} and said,{H559} Amalek{H6002} was the first{H7225} of the nations;{H1471} But his latter{H319} end shall come{H5703} to destruction.{H8} 21 And he looked{H7200} on the Kenite,{H7017} and took up{H5375} his parable,{H4912} and said,{H559} Strong{H386} is thy dwelling-place,{H4186} And thy nest{H7064} is set{H7760} in the rock.{H5553} 22 Nevertheless Kain{H7014} shall{H518} be wasted,{H1197} Until Asshur{H804} shall carry thee away captive.{H7617} 23 And he took up{H5375} his parable,{H4912} and said,{H559} Alas,{H188} who shall live{H2421} when God{H410} doeth{H7760} this? 24 But ships{H6716} [shall come] from the coast{H3027} of Kittim,{H3794} And they shall afflict{H6031} Asshur,{H804} and shall afflict{H6031} Eber;{H5677} And he also shall come{H5703} to destruction.{H8} 25 And Balaam{H1109} rose up,{H6965} and went{H3212} and returned{H7725} to his place;{H4725} and Balak{H1111} also went{H1980} his way.{H1870}
