So Barak{H1301} went down{H3381} from mountain{H2022} Tabor,{H8396} and ten{H6235} thousand{H505} men{H376} after{H310} him. 15 And Jehovah{H3068} defeated{H2000} Sisera,{H5516} and all his chariots,{H7393} and all his host,{H4264} with the edge{H6310} of the sword{H2719} before{H6440} Barak;{H1301} and Sisera{H5516} alighted from{H3381} his chariot,{H4818} and fled away{H5127} on his feet.{H7272} 16 But Barak{H1301} pursued{H7291} after{H310} the chariots,{H7393} and after the host,{H4264} unto Harosheth{H2800} of the Nations:{H1471} and all the host{H4264} of Sisera{H5516} fell{H5307} by the edge{H6310} of the sword;{H2719} there was not a man{H259} left.{H7604} 17 But Sisera{H5516} fled away{H5127} on his feet{H7272} to the tent{H168} of Jael{H3278} the wife{H802} of Heber{H2268} the Kenite;{H7017} for there was peace{H7965} between Jabin{H2985} the king{H4428} of Hazor{H2674} and the house{H1004} of Heber{H2268} the Kenite.{H7017} 18 And Jael{H3278} went out{H3318} to meet{H7125} Sisera,{H5516} and said{H559} unto him, Turn in,{H5493} my lord,{H113} turn in{H5493} to me; fear{H3372} not. And he turned in{H5493} unto her into the tent,{H168} and she covered{H3680} him with a rug.{H8063} 19 And he said{H559} unto her, Give me, I pray you, a little{H4592} water{H4325} to drink;{H8248} for I am thirsty.{H6770} And she opened{H6605} a bottle{H4997} of milk,{H2461} and gave him drink,{H8248} and covered{H3680} him. 20 And he said{H559} unto her, Stand in{H5975} the door{H6607} of the tent,{H168} and it shall be, when any man{H376} does come{H935} and inquire{H7592} of you, and say,{H559} Is there{H3426} any man{H376} here?{H3426} that you shall say,{H559} No. 21 Then Jael{H3278} Heber's{H2268} wife{H802} took{H3947} a tent -{H168} pin,{H3489} and took{H7760} a hammer{H4718} in her hand,{H3027} and went{H935} softly{H3814} unto him, and struck{H8628} the pin{H3489} into his temples,{H7541} and it pierced through into{H6795} the ground;{H776} for he was in a deep sleep;{H7290} so he swooned{H5774} and died.{H4191} 22 And, behold, as Barak{H1301} pursued{H7291} Sisera,{H5516} Jael{H3278} came out{H3318} to meet{H7125} him, and said{H559} unto him, Come,{H3212} and I will show{H7200} you the man{H376} whom you seek.{H1245} And he came{H935} unto her; and, behold, Sisera{H5516} lay{H5307} dead,{H4191} and the tent-pin{H3489} was in his temples.{H7541} 23 So God{H430} subdued{H3665} on that day{H3117} Jabin{H2985} the king{H4428} of Canaan{H3667} before{H6440} the sons{H1121} of Israel.{H3478} 24 And the hand{H3027} of the sons{H1121} of Israel{H3478} prevailed{H7186} more{H3212} and more against Jabin{H2985} the king{H4428} of Canaan,{H3667} until they had destroyed{H3772} Jabin{H2985} king{H4428} of Canaan.{H3667} 1 Then sang{H7891} Deborah{H1683} and Barak{H1301} the son{H1121} of Abinoam{H42} on that day,{H3117} saying,{H559} 2 For that the leaders took the lead{H6544} in Israel,{H3478} For that the people{H5971} offered{H5068} themselves willingly, Bless{H1288} ye Jehovah.{H3068} 3 Hear,{H8085} O ye kings;{H4428} give Israel.{H3478} 6 In the days{H3117} of Shamgar{H8044} the son{H1121} of Anath,{H6067} In the days{H3117} of Jael,{H3278} the highways{H734} were unoccupied,{H2308} And the travellers{H1980} walked{H3212} through byways.{H6128} 7 The rulers{H6520} ceased{H2308} in Israel,{H3478} they ceased,{H2308} Until that I Deborah{H1683} arose,{H6965} That I arose{H6965} a mother{H517} in and lead away thy{H7628} captives,{H7617} thou son{H1121} of Abinoam.{H42} 13 Then came down a remnant{H8300} of the nobles{H117} [and] the people;{H5971} Jehovah{H3068} came down for me down{H3381} governors,{H2710} And out of Zebulun{H2074} they that handle{H4900} the marshal's{H5608} staff.{H7626} 15 And the princes{H8269} of Issachar{H3485} were with Deborah;{H1683} As was Issachar,{H3485} so was Barak;{H1301} Into the valley{H6010} they rushed{H7971} forth at his feet.{H7272} By the watercourses{H6390} of Reuben{H7205} There were great{H1419} resolves{H2711} of heart.{H3820} 16 Why sattest{H3427} thou among{H996} the sheepfolds,{H4942} To hear{H8085} the pipings{H8292} for the flocks?{H5739} At the watercourses{H6390} of Reuben{H7205} There were great{H1419} searchings{H2714} of heart.{H3820} 17 Gilead{H1568} abode{H7931} beyond{H5676} the Jordan:{H3383} And Dan,{H1835} why did he remain{H1481} in ships?{H591} Asher{H836} sat still{H3427} at the haven{H2348} of the sea,{H3220} And abode{H7931} by his creeks.{H4664} 18 Zebulun{H2074} was a people{H5971} that jeoparded{H2778} their lives{H5315} unto the death,{H4191} And Naphtali,{H5321} upon the high places{H4791} of the field.{H7704} 19 The kings{H4428} came{H935} and fought;{H3898} Then fought{H3898} the kings{H4428} of Canaan.{H3667} In Taanach{H8590} by the waters{H4325} of horsehoofs{H6119} stamp{H1986} By reason of the prancings,{H1726} the prancings{H1726} of their strong ones.{H47} 23 Curse{H779} ye Meroz,{H4789} said{H559} the angel{H4397} of Jehovah.{H3068} Curse{H779} ye bitterly{H779} the inhabitants{H3427} thereof, Because they came{H935} not to the help{H5833} of Jehovah,{H3068} To the help{H5833} of Jehovah{H3068} against the mighty.{H1368} 24 Blessed{H1288} above women{H802} shall Jael{H3278} be, The wife{H802} of Heber{H2268} the Kenite;{H7017} Blessed{H1288} shall she be above women{H802} in the tent.{H168} 25 He asked{H7592} coming?{H935} Why tarry{H309} the wheels{H6471} of his chariots?{H4818} 29 Her wise{H2450} ladies{H8282} answered{H6030} her, Yea, she returned{H7725} answer{H561} to herself, 30 Have they not found,{H4672} have they not divided{H2505} the spoil?{H7998} A damsel,{H7356} two{H7361} damsels to every{H7218} man;{H1397} To Sisera{H5516} a spoil{H7998} of dyed{H6648} garments, A spoil{H7998} of dyed{H6648} garments embroidered,{H7553} Of dyed{H6648} garments embroidered on both sides,{H7553} on the necks{H6677} of the spoil?{H7998} 31 So let all thine enemies{H341} perish,{H6} O Jehovah:{H3068} But let them that love{H157} him be as the sun{H8121} when he goeth forth{H3318} in his might.{H1369} And the land{H776} had rest{H8252} forty{H705} years.{H8141} 1 And the children{H1121} of Israel{H3478} did{H6213} that which was evil{H7451} in the sight{H5869} of Jehovah:{H3068} and Jehovah{H3068} delivered{H5414} them into the hand{H3027} of Midian{H4080} destroy{H7843} it. 6 And Israel{H3478} was brought very{H3966} low{H1809} because{H6440} of Midian;{H4080} and the children{H1121} of Israel{H3478} cried{H2199} unto Jehovah.{H3068} 7 And it came to pass, when the children{H1121} of Israel{H3478} cried{H2199} unto Jehovah{H3068} because{H182} of Midian,{H4080} 8 that Jehovah{H3068} sent{H7971} a prophet{H376} unto the children{H1121} of Israel:{H3478} and he said{H559} unto them, Thus saith{H559} Jehovah,{H3068} the God{H430} of Israel,{H3478} I brought you up{H5927} from Egypt,{H4714} and brought you forth{H3318} out of the And he said,{H559} Bring me up{H5927} Samuel.{H8050} 12 And when the woman{H802} saw{H7200} Samuel,{H8050} she cried{H2199} with a loud{H1419} voice;{H6963} and the woman{H802} spake{H559} to Saul,{H7586} saying,{H559} Why hast thou deceived{H7411} me? for thou art Saul.{H7586} 13 And the king{H4428} said{H559} unto her, Be not afraid:{H3372} for what seest{H7200} thou? And she said,{H559} An old{H2205} man{H376} cometh up;{H5927} and he is covered{H5844} with a robe.{H4598} And Saul{H7586} perceived{H3045} that it was Samuel,{H8050} and he bowed{H6915} with his face{H639} to the ground,{H776} and did obeisance.{H7812} 15 And Samuel{H8050} said{H559} to Saul,{H7586} Why hast thou disquieted{H7264} me, to bring me up?{H5927} And Saul{H7586} answered,{H559} I am sore{H3966} distressed;{H6887} for the Philistines{H6430} make war{H3898} against me, and God{H430} is departed{H5493} from me, and answereth{H6030} me no more, neither by{H3027} prophets,{H5030} nor by dreams:{H2472} therefore I have called{H7121} thee, that thou mayest make known{H3045} unto me what I shall do.{H6213} 16 And Samuel{H8050} said,{H559} Wherefore then dost thou ask{H7592} of me, seeing Jehovah{H3068} is departed{H5493} from thee, and is become thine adversary?{H6145} 17 And Jehovah{H3068} hath done{H6213} unto thee, as he spake{H1696} by me:{H3027} and Jehovah{H3068} hath rent{H7167} the kingdom{H4467} out of thy hand,{H3027} and given{H5414} it to thy neighbor,{H7453} even to David.{H1732} 18 Because{H834} thou obeyedst{H8085} not the voice{H6963} of Jehovah,{H3068} and didst not execute{H6213} his fierce{H2740} wrath{H639} upon Amalek,{H6002} therefore hath Jehovah{H3068} done{H6213} this thing{H1697} unto thee this day.{H3117} 19 Moreover Jehovah{H3068} will deliver{H5414} Israel{H3478} also with thee into the hand{H3027} of the Philistines;{H6430} and to-morrow{H4279} shalt thou and thy sons{H1121} be with me: Jehovah{H3068} will deliver{H5414} the host{H4264} of Israel{H3478} also into the hand{H3027} of the Philistines.{H6430} 20 Then Saul{H7586} fell{H5307} straightway{H4116} his full{H4393} length{H6967} upon the earth,{H776} and was sore{H3966} afraid,{H3372} because of the words{H1697} of Samuel:{H8050} and there was no strength{H3581} in him; for he had eaten{H398} no bread{H3899} all the day,{H3117} nor all the night.{H3915} 21 And the woman{H802} came{H935} unto Saul,{H7586} and saw{H7200} that he was sore{H3966} troubled,{H926} and said{H559} unto him, Behold, thy handmaid{H8198} hath hearkened{H8085} unto thy voice,{H6963} and I have put{H7760} my life{H5315} in my hand,{H3709} and have hearkened{H8085} unto thy words{H1697} which thou spakest{H1696} unto me. 22 Now therefore, I pray thee, hearken{H8085} thou also unto the voice{H6963} of thy handmaid,{H8198} and let me set{H7760} a morsel{H6595} of bread{H3899} before{H6440} thee; and eat,{H398} that thou mayest have strength,{H3581} when thou goest{H3212} on thy way.{H1870} 23 But he refused,{H3985} and said,{H559} I will not eat.{H398} But his servants,{H5650} together with the woman,{H802} constrained{H6555} him; and he hearkened{H8085} unto their voice.{H6963} So he arose{H6965} from the earth,{H776} and sat{H3427} upon the bed.{H4296} 24 And the woman{H802} had a fatted{H4770} calf{H5695} in the house;{H1004} and she hasted,{H4116} and killed{H2076} it; and she took{H3947} flour,{H7058} and kneaded{H3888} it, and did bake{H644} unleavened bread{H4682} thereof: 25 and she brought{H5066} it before{H6440} Saul,{H7586} and before{H6440} his servants;{H5650} and they did eat.{H398} Then they rose up,{H6965} and went away{H3212} that night.{H3915}
