for she hath been proud{H2102} against Jehovah,{H3068} against the Holy One{H6918} of Israel.{H3478} 30 Therefore shall her young men{H970} fall{H5307} in her streets,{H7339} and all her men{H582} of war{H4421} shall be brought to silence{H1826} in that day,{H3117} saith{H5002} Jehovah.{H3068} 31 Behold, I am against thee, O thou proud{H2087} one, saith{H5002} the Lord,{H136} Jehovah{H3069} of hosts;{H6635} for thy day{H3117} is come,{H935} the time{H6256} that I will visit{H6485} thee. 32 And the proud{H2087} one shall stumble{H3782} and fall,{H5307} and none shall raise him up;{H6965} and I will kindle{H3341} a fire{H784} in his cities,{H5892} and it shall devour{H398} all that are round about{H5439} him. 33 Thus saith{H559} Jehovah{H3068} of hosts:{H6635} The children{H1121} of Israel{H3478} and the children{H1121} of Judah{H3063} are oppressed{H6231} together;{H3162} and all that took them captive{H7617} hold them fast;{H2388} they refuse{H3985} to let them go.{H7971} 34 Their Redeemer{H1350} is strong;{H2389} Jehovah{H3068} of hosts{H6635} is his name:{H8034} he will thoroughly{H7378} plead{H7378} their cause,{H7379} that he may give rest{H7280} to the earth,{H776} and disquiet{H7264} the inhabitants{H3427} of Babylon.{H894} 35 A sword{H2719} is upon the Chaldeans,{H3778} saith{H5002} Jehovah,{H3068} and upon the inhabitants{H3427} of Babylon,{H894} and upon her princes,{H8269} and upon her wise{H2450} men. 36 A sword{H2719} is upon the boasters,{H907} and they shall become fools;{H2973} a sword{H2719} is upon her mighty men,{H1368} and they shall be dismayed.{H2865} 37 A sword{H2719} is upon their horses,{H5483} and upon their chariots,{H7393} and upon all the mingled people{H6153} that are in the midst{H8432} of her; and they shall become as women:{H802} a sword{H2719} is upon her treasures,{H214} and they shall be robbed.{H962} 38 A drought{H2721} is upon her waters,{H4325} and they shall be dried up;{H3001} for it is a land{H776} of graven images,{H6456} and they are mad{H1984} over idols.{H367} 39 Therefore the wild beasts of the desert{H6728} with the wolves{H338} shall dwell{H3427} there, and the ostriches{H1323} shall dwell{H3427} therein: and it shall be no more inhabited{H3427} for ever;{H5331} neither shall it be dwelt{H7931} in from generation{H1755} to generation.{H1755} 40 As when God{H430} overthrew{H4114} Sodom{H5467} and Gomorrah{H6017} and the neighbor{H7934} cities thereof, saith{H5002} Jehovah,{H3068} so shall no man{H376} dwell{H3427} there, neither shall any son{H1121} of man{H120} sojourn{H1481} therein. 41 Behold, a people{H5971} cometh{H935} from the north;{H6828} and a great{H1419} nation{H1471} and many{H7227} kings{H4428} shall be stirred up{H5782} from the uttermost parts{H3411} of the earth.{H776} 42 They lay hold{H2388} on bow{H7198} and spear;{H3591} they are cruel,{H394} and have no mercy;{H7355} their voice{H6963} roareth{H1993} like the sea;{H3220} and they ride{H7392} upon horses,{H5483} every one set in array,{H6186} as a man{H376} to the battle,{H4421} against thee, O daughter{H1323} of Babylon.{H894} 43 The king{H4428} of Babylon{H894} hath heard{H8085} the tidings{H8088} of them, and his hands{H3027} wax feeble:{H7503} anguish{H6869} hath taken hold{H2388} of him, and pangs{H2427} as of a woman in travail.{H3205} 44 Behold, [the enemy] shall come up{H5927} like a lion{H738} from the pride{H1347} of the Jordan{H3383} against the strong{H386} habitation:{H5116} for I will suddenly{H7280} make{H7323} them run away{H7323} from it; and whoso is chosen,{H977} him will I appoint{H6485} over it: for who is like me? and who will appoint me a time?{H3259} and who is the shepherd{H7462} that can stand{H5975} before{H6440} me? 45 Therefore hear{H8085} ye the counsel{H6098} of Jehovah,{H3068} that he hath taken{H3289} against Babylon;{H894} and his purposes,{H4284} that he hath purposed{H2803} against the land{H776} of the Chaldeans:{H3778} Surely they shall drag them away,{H5498} [even] the little{H6810} ones of the flock;{H6629} surely he shall make their habitation{H5116} desolate{H8074} over them. 46 At the noise{H6963} of the taking{H8610} of Babylon{H894} the earth{H776} trembleth,{H7493} and the cry{H2201} is heard{H8085} among the nations.{H1471}

and the king{H4430} Nebuchadnezzar{H5020} thy father,{H2} the king,{H4430} [I say], thy father,{H2} made{H6966} him master{H7229} of the magicians,{H2749} enchanters,{H826} Chaldeans,{H3779} and soothsayers;{H1505} 12 forasmuch as{H6903} an excellent{H3493} spirit,{H7308} and knowledge,{H4486} and understanding,{H7924} interpreting{H6590} of dreams,{H2493} and showing{H263} of dark sentences,{H280} and dissolving{H8271} of doubts,{H7001} were found{H7912} in the same Daniel,{H1841} whom the king{H4430} named{H7761} Belteshazzar.{H1096} Now{H3705} let Daniel{H1841} be called,{H7123} and he will show{H2324} the interpretation.{H6591} 13 Then{H116} was Daniel{H1841} brought in{H5954} before{H6925} the king.{H4430} The king{H4430} spake{H6032} and said{H560} unto Daniel,{H1841} Art thou{H607} that Daniel,{H1841} who art of{H4481} the children{H1123} of the captivity{H1547} of Judah,{H3061} whom the king{H4430} my father{H2} brought{H858} out of{H4481} Judah?{H3061} 14 I have heard{H8086} of thee, that the spirit{H7308} of the gods{H426} is in thee,{H5922} and that light{H5094} and understanding{H7924} and excellent{H3493} wisdom{H2452} are found{H7912} in thee. 15 And now{H3705} the wise{H2445} men, the enchanters,{H826} have been brought{H5954} in before{H6925} me, that they should read{H7123} this{H1836} writing,{H3792} and make known{H3046} unto me the interpretation{H6591} thereof; and thou hast praised{H7624} the gods{H426} of silver{H3702} and gold,{H1722} of brass,{H5174} iron,{H6523} wood,{H636} and stone,{H69} which see{H2370} not,{H3809} nor{H3809} hear,{H8086} nor{H3809} know;{H3046} and the God{H426} in whose hand{H3028} thy breath{H5396} is, and whose are all{H3606} thy ways,{H735} hast thou not{H3809} glorified.{H1922} 24 Then{H116} was the part{H6447} of the hand{H3028} sent{H7972} from{H4481} before him,{H6925} and this{H1836} writing{H3792} was inscribed.{H7560} 25 And this{H1836} is the writing{H3792} that was inscribed:{H7560} MENE,{H4484} MENE,{H4484} TEKEL,{H8625} UPHARSIN.{H6537} 26 This{H1836} is the interpretation{H6591} of the thing:{H4406} MENE;{H4484} God{H426} hath numbered{H4483} thy kingdom,{H4437} and brought it to an end;{H8000} 27 TEKEL;{H8625} thou art weighed{H8625} in the balances,{H3977} and art found{H7912} wanting.{H2627} 28 PERES;{H6537} thy kingdom{H4437} is divided,{H6537} and given{H3052} to the Medes{H4076} and Persians.{H6540} 29 Then{H116} commanded{H560} Belshazzar,{H1113} and they clothed{H3848} Daniel{H1841} with purple,{H711} and put a chain{H2002} of gold{H1722} about{H5922} his neck,{H6676} and made proclamation{H3745} concerning{H5922} him, that he should be{H1934} the third{H8531} ruler{H7990} in the kingdom.{H4437} 30 In that night{H3916} Belshazzar{H1113} the Chaldean{H3779} King{H4430} was slain.{H6992} 31 And Darius{H1868} the Mede{H4077} received{H6902} the kingdom,{H4437} being about threescore{H8361} and two{H8648} years{H8140} old.{H1247}
Jer 51:24-26 : 24 And I will render{H7999} unto Babylon{H894} and to all the inhabitants{H3427} of Chaldea{H3778} all their evil{H7451} that they have done{H6213} in Zion{H6726} in your sight,{H5869} saith{H5002} Jehovah.{H3068} 25 Behold, I am against thee, O destroying{H4889} mountain,{H2022} saith{H5002} Jehovah,{H3068} which destroyest{H7843} all the earth;{H776} and I will stretch out{H5186} my hand{H3027} upon thee, and roll thee down{H1556} from the rocks,{H5553} and will make{H5414} thee a burnt{H8316} mountain.{H2022} 26 And they shall not take{H3947} of thee a stone{H68} for a corner,{H6438} nor a stone{H68} for foundations;{H4146} but thou shalt be desolate{H8077} for ever,{H5769} saith{H5002} Jehovah.{H3068}
Hab 2:1-9 : 1 I will stand{H5975} upon my watch,{H4931} and set{H3320} me upon the tower,{H4692} and will look{H7200} forth to see{H7200} what he will speak{H1696} with me, and what I shall answer{H7725} concerning my complaint.{H8433} 2 And Jehovah{H3068} answered{H6030} me, and said,{H559} Write{H3789} the vision,{H2377} and make it plain{H874} upon tablets,{H3871} that he may run{H7323} that readeth{H7121} it. 3 For the vision{H2377} is yet for the appointed time,{H4150} and it hasteth toward the end,{H7093} and shall{H6315} not lie:{H3576} though it tarry,{H4102} wait{H2442} for it; because it will surely{H935} come,{H935} it will not delay.{H309} 4 Behold, his soul{H5315} is puffed up,{H6075} it is not upright{H3474} in him; but the righteous{H6662} shall live{H2421} by his faith.{H530} 5 Yea, moreover, wine{H3196} is treacherous,{H898} a haughty{H3093} man,{H1397} that keepeth not at home;{H5115} who enlargeth{H7337} his desire{H5315} as Sheol,{H7585} and he is as death,{H4194} and cannot be satisfied,{H7646} but gathereth{H622} unto him all nations,{H1471} and heapeth{H6908} unto him all peoples.{H5971} 6 Shall not all these take up{H5375} a parable{H4912} against him, and a taunting{H4426} proverb{H2420} against him, and say,{H559} Woe{H1945} to him that increaseth{H7235} that which is not his! how long? and that ladeth{H3513} himself with pledges!{H5671} 7 Shall they not rise up{H6965} suddenly{H6621} that shall bite{H5391} thee, and awake{H3364} that shall vex{H2111} thee, and thou shalt be for booty{H4933} unto them? 8 Because thou hast plundered{H7997} many{H7227} nations,{H1471} all the remnant{H3499} of the peoples{H5971} shall plunder{H7997} thee, because of men's{H120} blood,{H1818} and for the violence{H2555} done to the land,{H776} to the city{H7151} and to all that dwell{H3427} therein. 9 Woe{H1945} to him that getteth{H1214} an evil{H7451} gain{H1215} for his house,{H1004} that he may set{H7760} his nest{H7064} on high,{H4791} that he may be delivered{H5337} from the hand{H3709} of evil!{H7451} 10 Thou hast devised{H3289} shame{H1322} to thy house,{H1004} by cutting off{H7096} many{H7227} peoples,{H5971} and hast sinned{H2398} against thy soul.{H5315} 11 For the stone{H68} shall cry out{H2199} of the wall,{H7023} and the beam out{H3714} of the timber{H6086} shall answer{H6030} it. 12 Woe{H1945} to him that buildeth{H1129} a town{H5892} with blood,{H1818} and establisheth{H3559} a city{H7151} by iniquity!{H5766} 13 Behold, is it not of Jehovah{H3068} of hosts{H6635} that the peoples{H5971} labor{H3021} for the{H1767} fire,{H784} and the nations{H3816} weary{H3286} themselves for{H1767} vanity?{H7385} 14 For the earth{H776} shall be filled{H4390} with the knowledge{H3045} of the glory{H3519} of Jehovah,{H3068} as the waters{H4325} cover{H3680} the sea.{H3220} 15 Woe{H1945} unto him that giveth his neighbor{H7453} drink,{H8248} to thee that addest{H5596} thy venom,{H2573} and makest him drunken{H7937} also, that thou mayest look{H5027} on their nakedness!{H4589} 16 Thou art filled{H7646} with shame,{H7036} and not glory:{H3519} drink{H8354} thou also, and be as one uncircumcised;{H6188} the cup{H3563} of Jehovah's{H3068} right hand{H3225} shall come round{H5437} unto thee, and foul shame{H7022} shall be upon thy glory.{H3519} 17 For the violence{H2555} done to Lebanon{H3844} shall cover{H3680} thee, and the destruction{H7701} of the beasts,{H929} which made them afraid;{H2865} because of men's{H120} blood,{H1818} and for the violence{H2555} done to the land,{H776} to the city{H7151} and to all that dwell{H3427} therein. 18 What profiteth{H3276} the graven image,{H6459} that the maker{H3335} thereof hath graven{H6458} it; the molten image,{H4541} even the teacher{H3384} of lies,{H8267} that he that fashioneth{H3335} its form{H3336} trusteth{H982} therein, to make{H6213} dumb{H483} idols?{H457} 19 Woe{H1945} unto him that saith{H559} to the wood,{H6086} Awake;{H6974} to the dumb{H1748} stone,{H68} Arise!{H5782} Shall this teach?{H3384} Behold, it is overlaid{H8610} with gold{H2091} and silver,{H3701} and there is no breath{H7307} at all in the midst{H7130} of it. 20 But Jehovah{H3068} is in his holy{H6944} temple:{H1964} let all the earth{H776} keep silence{H2013} before{H6440} him.
