Verse 5

And they shall divide{H2505} it into seven{H7651} portions:{H2506} Judah{H3063} shall abide{H5975} in his border{H1366} on the south,{H5045} and the house{H1004} of Joseph{H3130} shall abide{H5975} in their border{H1366} on the north.{H6828}

• Josh 16:1-9 : 1 And the lot{H1486} came{H3318} out for the children{H1121} of Joseph{H3130} from the Jordan{H3383} at Jericho,{H3405} at the waters{H4325} of Jericho{H3405} on the east,{H4217} even the wilderness,{H4057} going up{H5927} from Jericho{H3405} through the hill-country{H2022} to Beth-el;{H1008} 2 and it went out{H3318} from Beth-el{H1008} to Luz,{H3870} and passed along{H5674} unto the border{H1366} of the Archites{H757} to Ataroth;{H5852} 3 and it went down{H3381} westward{H3220} to the border{H1366} of the Japhletites,{H3311} unto the border{H1366} of Beth-horon{H1032} the nether,{H8481} even unto Gezer;{H1507} and the goings out{H8444} thereof were at the sea.{H3220} 4 And the children{H1121} of Joseph,{H3130} Manasseh{H4519} and Ephraim,{H669} took their inheritance.{H5157} 5 And the border{H1366} of the children{H1121} of Ephraim{H669} according to their families{H4940} was [thus]: the border{H1366} of their inheritance{H5159} eastward{H4217} was Ataroth-addar,{H5853} unto Beth-horon{H1032} the upper;{H5945} 6 and the border{H1366} went out{H3318} westward{H3220} at Michmethath{H4366} on the north;{H6828} and the border{H1366} turned about{H5437} eastward{H4217} unto Taanath-shiloh,{H8387} and passed{H5674} along it on the east{H4217} of Janoah;{H3239} 7 and it went down{H3381} from Janoah{H3239} to Ataroth,{H5852} and to Naarah,{H5292} and reached{H6293} unto Jericho,{H3405} and went out{H3318} at the Jordan.{H3383} 8 From Tappuah{H8599} the border{H1366} went along westward{H3220} to the brook{H5158} of Kanah;{H7071} and the goings out{H8444} thereof were at the sea.{H3220} This is the inheritance{H5159} of the tribe{H4294} of the children{H1121} of Ephraim{H669} according to their families;{H4940} 9 together with the cities{H5892} which were set apart{H3995} for the children{H1121} of Ephraim{H669} in the midst{H8432} of the inheritance{H5159} of the children{H1121} of Manasseh,{H4519} all the cities{H5892} with their villages.{H2691} 10 And they drove not out{H3423} the Canaanites{H3669} that dwelt{H3427} in Gezer:{H1507} but the Canaanites{H3669} dwell{H3427} in the midst{H7130} of Ephraim{H669} unto this day,{H3117} and are become servants{H5647} to do taskwork.{H4522}
• Josh 19:1-9 : 1 And the second{H8145} lot{H1486} came out{H3318} for Simeon,{H8095} even for the tribe{H4294} of the children{H1121} of Simeon{H8095} according to their families:{H4940} and their inheritance{H5159} was in the midst{H8432} of the inheritance{H5159} of the children{H1121} of Judah.{H3063} 2 And they had for their inheritance{H5159} Beer-sheba,{H884} or Sheba,{H7652} and Moladah,{H4137} 3 and Hazar-shual,{H2705} and Balah,{H1088} and Ezem,{H6107} 4 and Eltolad,{H513} and Bethul,{H1329} and Hormah,{H2767} 5 and Ziklag,{H6860} and Beth-marcaboth,{H1024} and Hazar-susah,{H2701} 6 and Beth-lebaoth,{H1034} and Sharuhen;{H8287} thirteen{H7969} cities{H5892} with their villages:{H2691} 7 Ain,{H5871} Rimmon,{H7417} and Ether,{H6281} and Ashan;{H6228} four{H702} cities{H5892} with their villages:{H2691} 8 and all the villages{H2691} that were round about{H5439} these cities{H5892} to Baalath-beer,{H1192} Ramah{H7414} of the South.{H5045} This is the inheritance{H5159} of the tribe{H4294} of the children{H1121} of Simeon{H8095} according to their families.{H4940} 9 Out of the part{H2256} of the children{H1121} of Judah{H3063} was the inheritance{H5159} of the children{H1121} of Simeon;{H8095} for the portion{H2506} of the children{H1121} of Judah{H3063} was too much{H7227} for them: therefore the children{H1121} of Simeon{H8095} had inheritance{H5157} in the midst{H8432} of their inheritance.{H5157}
