24 Wilt not thou possess{H3423} that which Chemosh{H3645} thy god{H430} giveth thee to possess?{H3423} So whomsoever Jehovah{H3068} our God{H430} hath dispossessed{H3423} from before{H6440} us, them will we possess.{H3423} 25 And now art thou anything better{H2896} than Balak{H1111} the son{H1121} of Zippor,{H6834} king{H4428} of Moab?{H4124} did he ever{H7378} strive{H7378} against Israel,{H3478} or did he ever{H7378} fight{H3898} against them? 26 While Israel{H3478} dwelt{H3427} in Heshbon{H2809} and its towns,{H1323} and in Aroer{H6177} and its towns,{H1323} and in all the cities{H5892} that are along by the side{H3027} of the Arnon,{H769} three{H7969} hundred{H3967} years;{H8141} wherefore did ye not recover{H5337} them within that time?{H6256} 27 I therefore have not sinned{H2398} against thee, but thou doest{H6213} me wrong{H7451} to war{H3898} against me: Jehovah,{H3068} the Judge,{H8199} be judge{H8199} this day{H3117} between the children{H1121} of Israel{H3478} and the children{H1121} of Ammon.{H5983} 28 Howbeit the king{H4428} of the children{H1121} of Ammon{H5983} hearkened{H8085} not unto the words{H1697} of Jephthah{H3316} which he sent{H7971} him. 29 Then the Spirit{H7307} of Jehovah{H3068} came upon Jephthah,{H3316} and he passed over{H5674} Gilead{H1568} and Manasseh,{H4519} and passed over{H5674} Mizpeh{H4708} of Gilead,{H1568} and from Mizpeh{H4708} of Gilead{H1568} he passed over{H5674} unto the children{H1121} of Ammon.{H5983} 30 And Jephthah{H3316} vowed{H5087} a vow{H5088} unto Jehovah,{H3068} and said,{H559} If thou wilt indeed{H5414} deliver{H5414} the children{H1121} of Ammon{H5983} into my hand,{H3027} 31 then it shall be, that whatsoever{H3318} cometh forth{H3318} from the doors{H1817} of my house{H1004} to meet{H7125} me, when I return{H7725} in peace{H7965} from the children{H1121} of Ammon,{H5983} it shall be Jehovah's,{H3068} and I will offer it up{H5927} for a burnt-offering.{H5930} 32 So Jephthah{H3316} passed over{H5674} unto the children{H1121} of Ammon{H5983} to fight{H3898} against them; and Jehovah{H3068} delivered{H5414} them into his hand.{H3027} 33 And he smote{H5221} them from Aroer{H6177} until thou come{H935} to Minnith,{H4511} even twenty{H6242} cities,{H5892} and unto{H58} Abel-cheramim,{H3754} with a very{H3966} great{H1419} slaughter.{H4347} So the children{H1121} of Ammon{H5983} were subdued{H3665} before{H6440} the children{H1121} of Israel.{H3478} 34 And Jephthah{H3316} came{H935} to Mizpah{H4709} unto his house;{H1004} and, behold, his daughter{H1323} came out{H3318} to meet{H7125} him with timbrels{H8596} and with dances:{H4246} and she was his only child;{H3173} besides her he had neither son{H1121} nor{H176} daughter.{H1323} 35 And it came to pass, when he saw{H7200} her, that he rent{H7167} his clothes,{H899} and said,{H559} Alas,{H162} my daughter!{H1323} thou hast brought{H3766} me very{H3766} low,{H3766} and thou art one of them that trouble{H5916} me; for I have opened{H6475} my mouth{H6310} unto Jehovah,{H3068} and I cannot{H3201} go back.{H7725} 36 And she said{H559} unto him, My father,{H1} thou hast opened{H6475} thy mouth{H6310} unto Jehovah;{H3068} do{H6213} unto me according to that which{H834} hath proceeded{H3318} out of thy mouth,{H6310} forasmuch{H310} as Jehovah{H3068} hath taken{H6213} vengeance{H5360} for thee on thine enemies,{H341} even on the children{H1121} of Ammon.{H5983} 37 And she said{H559} unto her father,{H1} Let this thing{H1697} be done{H6213} for me: let me alone{H7503} two{H8147} months,{H2320} that I may depart{H3212} and go down{H3381} upon the mountains,{H2022} and bewail{H1058} my virginity,{H1331} I and my companions.{H7464} 38 And he said,{H559} Go.{H3212} And he sent her away{H7971} for two{H8147} months:{H2320} and she departed,{H3212} she and her companions,{H7464} and bewailed{H1058} her virginity{H1331} upon the mountains.{H2022} 39 And it came to pass at the end{H7093} of two{H8147} months,{H2320} that she returned{H7725} unto her father,{H1} who did{H6213} with her according to his vow{H5088} which he had vowed:{H5087} and she knew{H3045} not man.{H376} And it was a custom{H2706} in Israel,{H3478} 40 that the daughters{H1323} of Israel{H3478} went{H3212} yearly{H3117} to celebrate{H8567} the daughter{H1323} of Jephthah{H3316} the Gileadite{H1569} four{H702} days{H3117} in a year.{H8141}

2 Kgs 24:2 : 2 And Jehovah{H3068} sent{H7971} against him bands{H1416} of the Chaldeans,{H3778} and bands{H1416} of the Syrians,{H758} and bands{H1416} of the Moabites,{H4124} and bands{H1416} of the children{H1121} of Ammon,{H5983} and sent{H7971} them against Judah{H3063} to destroy{H6} it, according to the word{H1697} of Jehovah,{H3068} which he spake{H1696} by{H3027} his servants{H5650} the prophets.{H5030}

Ezra 4:4-9 : 4 Then the people{H5971} of the land{H776} weakened{H7503} the hands{H3027} of the people{H5971} of Judah,{H3063} and troubled{H926} them in building,{H1129} 5 and hired{H7936} counsellors{H3289} against them, to frustrate{H6565} their purpose,{H6098} all the days{H3117} of Cyrus{H3566} king{H4428} of Persia,{H6539} even until the reign{H4438} of Darius{H1867} king{H4428} of Persia.{H6539} 6 And in the reign{H4438} of Ahasuerus,{H325} in the beginning{H8462} of his reign,{H4438} wrote{H3789} they an accusation{H7855} against the inhabitants{H3427} of Judah{H3063} and Jerusalem.{H3389} 7 And in the days{H3117} of Artaxerxes{H783} wrote{H3789} Bishlam,{H1312} Mithredath,{H4990} Tabeel,{H2870} and the rest{H7605} of his companions,{H3674} unto Artaxerxes{H783} king{H4428} of Persia;{H6539} and the writing{H3791} of the letter{H5406} was written{H3789} in the Syrian [character],{H762} and set forth{H8638} in the Syrian [tongue].{H762} 8 Rehum{H7348} the chancellor{H1169} and Shimshai{H8124} the scribe{H5613} wrote{H3790} a{H2298} letter{H104} against{H5922} Jerusalem{H3390} to Artaxerxes{H783} the king{H4430} in this sort:{H3660} 9 then{H116} [wrote] Rehum{H7348} the chancellor,{H1169} and Shimshai{H8124} the scribe,{H5613} and the rest{H7606} of their companions,{H3675} the Dinaites,{H1784} and the Apharsathchites,{H671} the Tarpelites,{H2967} the Apharsites,{H670} the Archevites,{H756} the Babylonians,{H896} the Shushanchites,{H7801} the Dehaites,{H1723} the Elamites,{H5962} 10 and the rest{H7606} of the nations{H524} whom{H1768} the great{H7229} and noble{H3358} Osnappar{H620} brought over,{H1541} and set{H3488} in the city{H7149} of Samaria,{H8115} and in the rest{H7606} [of the country] beyond{H5675} the River,{H5103} and so forth.{H3706} 11 This{H1836} is the copy{H6573} of the letter{H104} that{H1768} they sent{H7972} unto{H5922} Artaxerxes{H783} the king:{H4430} Thy servants{H5649} the men{H606} beyond{H5675} the River,{H5103} and so forth.{H3706} 12 Be it{H1934} known{H3046} unto the king,{H4430} that the Jews{H3062} that{H1768} came up{H5559} from{H4481} thee{H3890} are come{H858} to us{H5922} unto Jerusalem;{H3390} they are building{H1124} the rebellious{H4779} and the bad{H873} city,{H7149} and have finished{H3635} the walls,{H7792} and repaired{H2338} the foundations.{H787} 13 Be it known{H3046} now{H3705} unto the king,{H4430} that, if{H2006} this{H1791} city{H7149} be builded,{H1124} and the walls{H7792} finished,{H3635} they will not{H3809} pay{H5415} tribute,{H1093} custom,{H1983} or toll,{H4061} and in the end it will be hurtful{H5142} unto{H674} the kings.{H4430} 14 Now{H3705} because{H6903} we eat{H1768} the salt{H4415} of the palace,{H1965} and it is not{H3809} meet{H749} for us to see{H2370} the king's{H4430} dishonor,{H6173} therefore{H5922} have we sent{H7972} and certified{H3046} the king;{H4430} 15 that search{H1240} may be made in the book{H5609} of the records{H1799} of thy fathers:{H2} so shalt thou find{H7912} in the book{H5609} of the records,{H1799} and know{H3046} that this{H1791} city{H7149} is a rebellious{H4779} city,{H7149} and hurtful{H5142} unto kings{H4430} and provinces,{H4083} and that they have moved{H5648} sedition{H849} within the same{H1459} of{H4481} old{H5957} time;{H3118} for{H5922} which{H1836} cause was this{H1791} city{H7149} laid waste.{H2718} 16 We{H586} certify{H3046} the king{H4430} that, if{H2006} this{H1791} city{H7149} be builded,{H1124} and the walls{H7792} finished,{H3635} by this{H1836} means{H6903} thou shalt have{H383} no{H3809} portion{H2508} beyond{H5675} the River.{H5103}
Ezra 5:8 : 8 Be it known{H1934} unto the king,{H4430} that we went{H236} into the province{H4083} of Judah,{H3061} to the house{H1005} of the great{H7229} God,{H426} which is builded{H1124} with great{H1560} stones,{H69} and timber{H636} is laid{H7761} in the walls;{H3797} and this{H1791} work{H5673} goeth{H5648} on with diligence{H629} and prospereth{H6744} in their hands.{H3028}
