For the Chief Musician; after the manner of Jeduthun. A Psalm of David. My soul{H5315} waiteth{H1747} in silence for God{H430} only: From him [cometh] my salvation.{H3444}
Verse 2
He only is my rock{H6697} and my salvation:{H3444} [He is] my high tower;{H4869} I shall not be greatly{H7227} moved.{H4131}
Verse 3
How long will ye set upon{H2050} a man,{H376} That ye may slay{H7523} [him], all of you, Like a leaning{H5186} wall,{H7023} like a tottering{H1760} fence?{H1447}
Verse 4
They only consult{H3289} to thrust him down{H5080} from his dignity;{H7613} They delight{H7521} in lies;{H3577} They bless{H1288} with their mouth,{H6310} but they curse{H7043} inwardly.{H7130} {H5542}
Verse 5
My soul,{H5315} wait{H1826} thou in silence for God{H430} only; For my expectation{H8615} is from him.
Verse 6
He only is my rock{H6697} and my salvation:{H3444} [He is] my high tower;{H4869} I shall not be moved.{H4131}
Verse 7
With God{H430} is my salvation{H3468} and my glory:{H3519} The rock{H6697} of my strength,{H5797} and my refuge,{H4268} is in God.{H430}
Verse 8
Trust{H982} in him at all times,{H6256} ye people;{H5971} Pour out{H8210} your heart{H3824} before{H6440} him: God{H430} is a refuge{H4268} for us. {H5542}
Verse 9
Surely men{H120} of low degree are vanity,{H1892} and men{H376} of high degree are a lie:{H3577} In{H5927} the balances{H3976} they will go up; They are together{H3162} lighter than vanity.{H1892}
Verse 10
Trust{H982} not in oppression,{H6233} And become not vain{H1891} in robbery:{H1498} If riches{H2428} increase,{H5107} set{H7896} not your heart{H3820} [thereon].
Verse 11
God{H430} hath spoken{H1696} once,{H259} Twice{H8147} have I heard{H8085} this,{H2098} That power{H5797} belongeth unto God.{H430}
Verse 12
Also unto thee, O Lord,{H136} belongeth lovingkindness;{H2617} For thou renderest{H7999} to every man{H376} according to his work.{H4639}
