Therefore as I live,{H2416} saith{H5002} Jehovah{H3068} of hosts,{H6635} the God{H430} of Israel,{H3478} Surely Moab{H4124} shall be as Sodom,{H5467} and the children{H1121} of Ammon{H5983} as Gomorrah,{H6017} a possession{H4476} of nettles,{H2738} and saltpits,{H4379} and a perpetual{H5704} desolation:{H8077} the residue{H7611} of my people{H5971} shall make a prey{H962} of them, and the remnant{H3499} of my nation{H1471} shall inherit{H5157} them.

was he found{H4672} among thieves?{H1590} for as often{H1767} as thou speakest{H1697} of him, thou waggest{H5110} the head. 28 O ye inhabitants{H3427} of Moab,{H4124} leave{H5800} the cities,{H5892} and dwell{H3427} in the rock;{H5553} and be like the dove{H3123} that maketh her nest{H7077} over{H5676} the mouth{H6310} of the abyss.{H6354} 29 We have heard{H8085} of the pride{H1347} of Moab,{H4124} [that] he is very{H3966} proud;{H1343} his loftiness,{H1363} and his pride,{H1347} and his arrogancy,{H1346} and the haughtiness{H7312} of his heart.{H3820} 30 I know{H3045} his wrath,{H5678} saith{H5002} Jehovah,{H3068} that it is nought; his boastings{H907} have wrought nothing.{H6213} 31 Therefore will I wail{H3213} for Moab;{H4124} yea, I will cry out{H2199} for all Moab:{H4124} for the men{H582} of Kir-heres{H7025} shall they mourn.{H1897} 32 With more than the weeping{H1065} of Jazer{H3270} will I weep{H1058} for thee, O vine{H1612} of Sibmah:{H7643} thy branches{H5189} passed over{H5674} the sea,{H3220} they reached{H5060} even to the sea{H3220} of Jazer:{H3270} upon thy summer fruits{H7019} and upon thy vintage{H1210} the destroyer{H7703} is fallen.{H5307} 33 And gladness{H1524} and joy{H8057} is taken{H622} away from the fruitful field{H3759} and from the land{H776} of Moab;{H4124} and I have caused wine{H3196} to cease{H7673} from the winepresses:{H3342} none shall tread{H1869} with shouting;{H1959} the shouting{H1959} shall be no shouting.{H1959} 34 From the cry{H2201} of Heshbon{H2809} even unto Elealeh,{H500} even unto Jahaz{H3096} have they uttered{H5414} their voice,{H6963} from Zoar{H6820} even unto Horonaim,{H2773} to Eglath -{H5697} shelishiyah:{H7992} for the waters{H4325} of Nimrim{H5249} also shall become desolate.{H4923} 35 Moreover I will cause to cease{H7673} in Moab,{H4124} saith{H5002} Jehovah,{H3068} him that offereth{H5927} in the high place,{H1116} and him that burneth incense{H6999} to his gods.{H430} 36 Therefore my heart{H3820} soundeth{H1993} for Moab{H4124} like pipes,{H2485} and my heart{H3820} soundeth{H1993} like pipes{H2485} for the men{H582} of Kir-heres:{H7025} therefore the abundance{H3502} that he hath gotten{H6213} is perished.{H6} 37 For every head{H7218} is bald,{H7144} and every beard{H2206} clipped:{H1639} upon all the hands{H3027} are cuttings,{H1417} and upon the loins{H4975} sackcloth.{H8242} 38 On all the housetops{H1406} of Moab{H4124} and in the streets{H7339} thereof there is lamentation{H4553} every where; for I have broken{H7665} Moab{H4124} like a vessel{H3627} wherein none delighteth,{H2656} saith{H5002} Jehovah.{H3068} 39 How is it broken down!{H2865} [how] do they wail!{H3213} how hath Moab{H4124} turned{H6437} the back{H6203} with shame!{H954} so shall Moab{H4124} become a derision{H7814} and a terror{H4288} to all that are round about{H5439} him. 40 For thus saith{H559} Jehovah:{H3068} Behold, he shall fly{H1675} as an eagle,{H5404} and shall spread{H6566} out his wings{H3671} against Moab.{H4124} 41 Kerioth{H7152} is taken,{H3920} and the strongholds{H4679} are seized,{H3920} and the heart{H3820} of the mighty men{H1368} of Moab{H4124} at that day{H3117} shall be as the heart{H3820} of a woman{H802} in her pangs.{H6887} 42 And Moab{H4124} shall be destroyed{H8045} from being a people,{H5971} because he hath magnified{H1431} himself against Jehovah.{H3068} 43 Fear,{H6343} and the pit,{H6354} and the snare,{H6341} are upon thee, O inhabitant{H3427} of Moab,{H4124} saith{H5002} Jehovah.{H3068} 44 He that fleeth{H5127} from{H6440} the fear{H6343} shall fall{H5307} into the pit;{H6354} and he that getteth up{H5927} out of the pit{H6354} shall be taken{H3920} in the snare:{H6341} for I will bring{H935} upon him, even upon Moab,{H4124} the year{H8141} of their visitation,{H6486} saith{H5002} Jehovah.{H3068} 45 They that fled{H5127} stand{H5975} without strength{H3581} under the shadow{H6738} of Heshbon;{H2809} for a fire{H784} is gone forth{H3318} out of Heshbon,{H2809} and a flame{H3852} from the midst{H996} of Sihon,{H5511} and hath devoured{H398} the corner{H6285} of Moab,{H4124} and the crown of the head{H6936} of the tumultuous{H7588} ones.{H1121} 46 Woe{H188} unto thee, O Moab!{H4124} the people{H5971} of Chemosh{H3645} is undone;{H6} for thy sons{H1121} are taken{H3947} away captive,{H7628} and thy daughters{H1323} into captivity.{H7633} 47 Yet will I bring back{H7725} the captivity{H7622} of Moab{H4124} in the latter{H319} days,{H3117} saith{H5002} Jehovah.{H3068} Thus far{H2008} is the judgment{H4941} of Moab.{H4124} 1 Of the children of Ammon.{H1121} Thus saith{H559} Jehovah:{H3068} Hath Israel{H3478} no sons?{H1121} hath he no heir?{H3423} why then doth Malcam{H4428} possess{H3423} Gad,{H1410} and his people{H5971} dwell{H3427} in the cities{H5892} thereof? 2 Therefore, behold, the days{H3117} come,{H935} saith{H559} Jehovah,{H3068} that I will cause an alarm{H8643} of war{H4421} to be heard{H8085} against Rabbah{H7237} of the children of Ammon;{H1121} and it shall become a desolate{H8077} heap,{H8510} and her daughters{H1323} shall be burned{H3341} with fire:{H784} then shall Israel{H3478} possess{H3423} them that did possess{H3423} him, saith{H5002} Jehovah.{H3068} 3 Wail,{H3213} O Heshbon,{H2809} for Ai{H5857} is laid waste;{H7703} cry,{H6817} ye daughters{H1323} of Rabbah,{H7237} gird{H2296} you with sackcloth:{H8242} lament,{H5594} and run to and fro{H7751} among the fences; for Malcam{H4428} shall go{H3212} into captivity,{H1473} his priests{H3548} and his princes{H8269} together.{H3162} 4 Wherefore gloriest{H1984} thou in the valleys,{H6010} thy flowing{H2100} valley,{H6010} O backsliding{H7728} daughter?{H1323} that trusted{H982} in her treasures,{H214} [saying], Who shall come{H935} unto me? 5 Behold, I will bring{H935} a fear{H6343} upon thee, saith{H5002} the Lord,{H136} Jehovah{H136} of hosts,{H6635} from all that are round about{H5439} thee; and ye shall be driven out{H5080} every man{H376} right forth,{H6440} and there shall be none to gather together{H6908} the fugitives.{H5074} 6 But afterward{H310} I will bring back{H7725} the captivity{H7622} of the children{H1121} of Ammon,{H5983} saith{H5002} Jehovah.{H3068}
Jer 49:18 : 18 As in the overthrow{H4114} of Sodom{H5467} and Gomorrah{H6017} and the neighbor{H7934} cities thereof, saith{H559} Jehovah,{H3068} no man{H376} shall dwell{H3427} there, neither shall any son{H1121} of man{H120} sojourn{H1481} therein.
Jer 50:40 : 40 As when God{H430} overthrew{H4114} Sodom{H5467} and Gomorrah{H6017} and the neighbor{H7934} cities thereof, saith{H5002} Jehovah,{H3068} so shall no man{H376} dwell{H3427} there, neither shall any son{H1121} of man{H120} sojourn{H1481} therein.

Joel 3:19-20 : 19 Egypt{H4714} shall be a desolation,{H8077} and Edom{H123} shall be a desolate{H8077} wilderness,{H4057} for the violence{H2555} done to the children{H1121} of Judah,{H3063} because they have shed{H8210} innocent{H5355} blood{H1818} in their land.{H776} 20 But Judah{H3063} shall abide{H3427} for ever,{H5769} and Jerusalem{H3389} from generation{H1755} to generation.{H1755}

Mic 5:7-8 : 7 And the remnant{H7611} of Jacob{H3290} shall be in the midst{H7130} of many{H7227} peoples{H5971} as dew{H2919} from Jehovah,{H3068} as showers{H7241} upon the grass,{H6212} that tarry{H6960} not for man,{H376} nor wait{H3176} for the sons{H1121} of men.{H120} 8 And the remnant{H7611} of Jacob{H3290} shall be among the nations,{H1471} in the midst{H7130} of many{H7227} peoples,{H5971} as a lion{H738} among the beasts{H929} of the forest,{H3293} as a young lion{H3715} among the flocks{H5739} of sheep;{H6629} who, if he go through,{H5674} treadeth down{H7429} and teareth in pieces,{H2963} and there is none to deliver.{H5337}
Zeph 2:7 : 7 And the coast{H2256} shall be for the remnant{H7611} of the house{H1004} of Judah;{H3063} they shall feed{H7462} [their flocks] thereupon; in the houses{H1004} of Ashkelon{H831} shall they lie down{H7257} in the evening;{H6153} for Jehovah{H3068} their God{H430} will visit{H6485} them, and bring back{H7725} their captivity.{H7622}
Zeph 2:14 : 14 And herds{H5739} shall lie down{H7257} in the midst{H8432} of her, all the beasts{H2416} of the nations:{H1471} both the pelican{H6893} and the porcupine{H7090} shall lodge{H3885} in the capitals{H3730} thereof; [their] voice{H6963} shall sing{H7891} in the windows;{H2474} desolation{H2721} shall be in the thresholds:{H5592} for he hath laid bare{H6168} the cedar-work.{H731}
Zeph 3:13 : 13 The remnant{H7611} of Israel{H3478} shall not do{H6213} iniquity,{H5766} nor speak{H1696} lies;{H3577} neither shall a deceitful{H8649} tongue{H3956} be found{H4672} in their mouth;{H6310} for they shall feed{H7462} and lie down,{H7257} and none shall make them afraid.{H2729}

Isa 13:19-20 : 19 And Babylon,{H894} the glory{H6643} of kingdoms,{H4467} the beauty{H8597} of the Chaldeans'{H3778} pride,{H1347} shall be as when God{H430} overthrew{H4114} Sodom{H5467} and Gomorrah.{H6017} 20 It shall never{H5331} be inhabited,{H3427} neither shall it be dwelt{H7931} in from generation{H1755} to generation:{H1755} neither shall the Arabian{H6163} pitch tent{H167} there; neither shall shepherds{H7462} make their flocks to lie down{H7257} there.
