The LORD said to me: 'Do not be afraid of him, for I have handed him over to you along with all his people and his land. Do to him as you did to Sihon, king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon.'

So the LORD our God also gave us Og, king of Bashan, and all his people. We struck them down until no survivors remained.

We captured all his cities at that time—there was not a city we did not take from them—sixty cities in all, the entire region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

'You are to help your fellow Israelites until the LORD gives them rest, as He has done for you, and they too have taken possession of the land the LORD your God is giving them across the Jordan. After that, each of you may return to the possession I have given you.'

At that time, I also commanded Joshua, saying, 'Your own eyes have seen everything the LORD your God has done to these two kings. The LORD will do the same to all the kingdoms where you are crossing over.'

Do not be afraid of them, for the LORD your God is the one who fights for you.

Jeg ba inntrengende til Herren på den tiden og sa:

At that time, I pleaded with the LORD,

But the LORD was angry with me because of you and would not listen to me. Instead, the LORD said to me, ‘That is enough! Do not speak to Me anymore about this matter.’

Gå opp på toppen av Pisga, løft dine øyne mot vest, nord, sør og øst, og se med dine øyne. For du skal ikke krysse Jordan.

‘Go up to the top of Pisgah and look west, north, south, and east. See it with your eyes, for you will not cross the Jordan.’

‘Charge Joshua and encourage him, for he will lead this people across and enable them to inherit the land that you will see.’
