Come, everyone who is thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.

Hvorfor veier dere ut penger for det som ikke er brød, og strevet deres for det som ikke metter? Lytt nidkjært til meg, og spis det gode, og la deres sjel fryde seg i overflod.

Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of food.

Bøy ørene deres og kom til meg; lytt, så deres sjel kan leve. Jeg vil slutte en evig pakt med dere, trofaste nådeløfter til David.

Incline your ear and come to me; listen, so that your soul may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David.

See, I have made him a witness to the nations, a leader and commander of the peoples.

Seek the LORD while he may be found; call upon him while he is near.

La den onde forlate sin vei, og den urettferdige sine tanker; la ham vende om til Herren, så vil han vise barmhjertighet til ham, og til vår Gud, for han vil rikt tilgi.

Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts. Let him return to the LORD, so that He may have compassion on him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.

For mine tanker er ikke deres tanker, og deres veier er ikke mine veier, sier Herren.

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, declares the LORD.

For som himmelen er høyere enn jorden, slik er mine veier høyere enn deres veier, og mine tanker høyere enn deres tanker.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.

As the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there without watering the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, providing seed for the sower and bread for the eater,

For med glede skal dere dra ut, og med fred skal dere bli ført. Fjellene og haugene skal bryte ut i jubel foran dere, og alle markens trær skal klappe i hendene.

For you will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.

I stedet for tornebusker skal det gro opp sypresser, i stedet for nesler skal det vokse opp myrte. Dette skal være til et navn for Herren, til et evig tegn som ikke skal utryddes.

In place of the thornbush, the cypress will grow; and instead of the nettle, the myrtle will rise. This will be for the LORD's renown, an everlasting sign that will not be destroyed.
