This is what the LORD says: Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for strength and whose heart turns away from the LORD.

Han skal være som en busk i ørkenen, og han ser ikke når lykken kommer, men skal bo steder der ingen bor, i den salte ødemarken.

They will be like a shrub in the desert, dwelling in a parched place in the wilderness, in a land of salt where no one lives, and will not see when prosperity comes.

Velsignet er den mann som stoler på Herren, og Herren skal være hans tillit.

Blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in Him.

Han skal være som et tre plantet ved vann, som strekker sine røtter mot elven. Det frykter ikke når heten kommer, og grønne er dets blader, i tørketiden bekymrer det seg ikke og slutter ikke å bære frukt.

They will be like a tree planted by water, stretching out its roots by a stream. It will not fear when heat comes, and its leaves remain green. It will not worry in a year of drought or cease to produce fruit.

A glorious throne, exalted from the beginning, is the place of our sanctuary.

Håpet for Israel, Herre: Alle som forlater deg, skal bli til skamme, de som vender seg bort fra meg, skal bli skrevet i jorden, for de har forlatt kilden med levende vann, Herren.

O LORD, the hope of Israel, all who forsake You will be put to shame. Those who turn away from You will be written in the earth, for they have abandoned the fountain of living water, the LORD.

Heal me, O LORD, and I will be healed; save me, and I will be saved, for You are my praise.

May my persecutors be put to shame, but may I not be put to shame. May they be dismayed, but may I not be dismayed. Bring upon them the day of disaster; destroy them with double destruction.

This is what the LORD said to me: 'Go and stand at the gate of the people through which the kings of Judah come in and go out, and also at all the gates of Jerusalem.'

Say to them, 'Listen to the word of the LORD, you kings of Judah, all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem who enter through these gates.'

Så sier Herren: Se til dere selv! Bær ingen byrder på sabbatsdagen og før dem ikke inn gjennom Jerusalems porter.

This is what the LORD says: 'Be careful not to carry any load on the Sabbath day, or bring it through the gates of Jerusalem.'

Ta ikke ut byrder fra deres hus på sabbatsdagen, og gjør ingen arbeid, men hellige sabbatsdagen som jeg befalte deres fedre.

Do not bring any load out of your houses or do any work on the Sabbath, but keep the Sabbath day holy, as I commanded your ancestors.

Yet they did not listen or incline their ear. They stiffened their necks and would not listen or take correction.

But if you diligently obey Me, declares the LORD, and do not bring any load through the gates of this city on the Sabbath, but keep the Sabbath day holy and do no work on it,

then kings and princes who sit on David’s throne will come through the gates of this city, riding in chariots and on horses, accompanied by their officials and the people of Judah and Jerusalem. And this city will be inhabited forever.

Og de skal komme fra Judas byer, fra Jerusalems omland, fra Benjamins land, fra lavlandet, fra fjellene og fra Negev, og komme med brennoffer, slaktoffer, grødeoffer, røkelse og de som kommer med takksigelser til Herrens hus.

People will come from the cities of Judah and the areas surrounding Jerusalem, from the land of Benjamin, the western foothills, the hill country, and the Negev, bringing burnt offerings, sacrifices, grain offerings, incense, and thank offerings to the house of the LORD.

Men hvis dere ikke hører meg for å hellige sabbatsdagen, ved ikke å bære noen byrder og komme gjennom Jerusalems porter på sabbatsdagen, da vil jeg tenne en ild i dens porter, som skal fortære Jerusalems palasser og ikke bli slukket.

But if you do not obey Me to keep the Sabbath day holy by not carrying any loads as you come through the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath, then I will kindle a fire in its gates, and it will consume the fortresses of Jerusalem and will not be extinguished.
