Mitt hjerte er fast, Gud. Jeg vil synge og spille, ja, også min ære.

My heart is steadfast, O God; I will sing, I will make music with my whole being.

Våkn opp, harpe og lyre! Jeg vil vekke morgenen.

Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn.

Jeg vil prise deg blant folkene, Herre, og jeg vil synge lovsang blant nasjonene.

I will praise you, LORD, among the peoples; I will sing of you among the nations.

For din miskunnhet er stor over himmelen, og din trofasthet rekker til skyene.

For your steadfast love is great above the heavens, and your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

Vær opphøyd over himmelen, Gud, og over all jorden din herlighet.

Be exalted above the heavens, O God, and let your glory be over all the earth.

Så dine elskede kan bli reddet, frels ved din høyre hånd og svar meg.

So that your beloved ones may be delivered, save with your right hand and answer me!

Gud har talt i sin hellighet: "Jeg vil fryde meg, jeg vil dele ut Sikem og måle opp Sukkots dal."

God has spoken in his holiness: 'I will exult; I will divide Shechem and measure out the Valley of Succoth.'

Gilead tilhører meg, Manasse tilhører meg, Efraim er hjelm for mitt hode, Juda er min stav.

Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim is my helmet for my head, Judah is my scepter.

Moab er mitt vaskefat; over Edom kaster jeg min sandal; over Filistia roper jeg triumf.

Moab is my washbasin; over Edom I cast my sandal; over Philistia I will shout in triumph.

Hvem vil føre meg til den befestede by? Hvem har ledet meg til Edom?

Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me as far as Edom?

Har ikke du, Gud, forkastet oss? Og du drar ikke med våre hærer, Gud.

Have you not rejected us, O God? Do you not march out with our armies, O God?

Gi oss hjelp fra fienden, for menneskers frelse er forgjeves.

Give us help against the enemy, for the help of man is worthless.

Ved Gud vil vi gjøre storverk, og han skal tråkke våre fiender ned.

Through God we shall do valiantly; it is He who will trample our enemies.
