Great is our Lord and mighty in power; His understanding is beyond measure.

The LORD lifts up the humble; He brings the wicked down to the ground.

Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; make music to our God with the harp.

Han dekker himmelen med skyer, forbereder regn til jorden, får gress til å spire på fjellene.

He covers the sky with clouds; He prepares rain for the earth; He makes the mountains sprout grass.

Han gir mat til dyrene, til ravneungene som roper.

He provides food for the animals and for the young ravens when they cry.

Han har ikke glede i hestens styrke, heller ikke glede i mannens sterke ben.

He does not delight in the strength of the horse; He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man.

The LORD takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who hope in His steadfast love.

For He strengthens the bars of your gates; He blesses your children within you.

He sends His command to the earth; His word runs swiftly.

He hurls down His hail like crumbs; who can stand before His cold?

Han sender sitt ord og smelter dem; han lar vinden blåse, og vannet renner.

He sends out His word and melts them; He makes His wind blow, and the waters flow.

Han gjorde sitt ord kjent for Jakob, sine lover og forskrifter for Israel.

He declares His word to Jacob, His statutes and judgments to Israel.

Slik har han ikke gjort mot noe annet folk; hans lover kjenner de ikke. Halleluja!
