So now, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

For livets Ånds lov i Kristus Jesus har gjort meg fri fra syndens og dødens lov.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death.

For det som var umulig for loven, fordi den var svak gjennom kjødet, gjorde Gud ved å sende sin egen Sønn i syndig kjøds lignelse, og for syndens skyld dømte han synden i kjødet.

For what the law could not do, weakened as it was by the flesh, God did. By sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as a sin offering, He condemned sin in the flesh.

This was so that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.

The mindset of the flesh is death, but the mindset of the Spirit is life and peace.

Because the mindset of the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so.

But if Christ is in you, even though the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness.

So then, brothers and sisters, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to it.

The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.

For the creation was subjected to futility—not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it—in hope

that the creation itself will also be liberated from the bondage to decay into the glorious freedom of God's children.

For vi vet at hele skapningen stønner sammen og har vondt sammen helt til nå.

For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together with labor pains until now.

Ikke bare det, men også vi som har Åndens førstegrøde stønner i oss selv mens vi venter på barnekårets innfrielse, vår kropps forløsning.

And not only that, but we ourselves who have the firstfruits of the Spirit—we also groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for adoption, the redemption of our bodies.

For i håpet er vi frelst. Et håp som er sett, er ikke håp; for hvem håper på det de ser?

For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already see?

Men hvis vi håper på det vi ikke ser, så venter vi med tålmodighet.

But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with patience.

På samme måte hjelper også Ånden oss i vår svakhet. For vi vet ikke hva vi skal be om slik vi burde; men Ånden selv går i forbønn for oss med sukk som ikke kan uttrykkes med ord.

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weaknesses. For we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with unspeakable groanings.

And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.

And we know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to His purpose.

And those He predestined, He also called; and those He called, He also justified; and those He justified, He also glorified.

What then shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Han som ikke sparte sin egen Sønn, men gav ham for oss alle, hvordan skulle han da ikke også med ham gi oss alle ting?

He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all—how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?

Hvem vil anklage Guds utvalgte? Gud er den som rettferdiggjør.

Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.

Hvem er den som fordømmer? Kristus er den som døde, ja, mer enn det, den som også ble reist opp, som er ved Guds høyre hånd, som også går i forbønn for oss.

Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

Hvem skal skille oss fra Kristi kjærlighet? Trengsel eller angst eller forfølgelse eller sult eller nakenhet eller fare eller sverd?

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?

Som det står skrevet: "For din skyld drepes vi hele dagen; vi er regnet som slaktesauer."

As it is written: 'For Your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.'

Men i alt dette vinner vi mer enn seier ved ham som har elsket oss.

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

For jeg er viss på at verken død eller liv, verken engler eller makter, verken det som nå er eller det som skal komme,

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor rulers, neither powers, neither things present nor things to come,

verken høyde eller dybde eller noen annen skapning, skal kunne skille oss fra Guds kjærlighet, som er i Kristus Jesus, vår Herre.

neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
