In beginning created God the heavens and the earth.

And the earth was formless and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

And said God, Let there be light, and there was light.

And saw God the light that it was good, and divided God between the light and between the darkness.

And called God the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, day one.

And said God, Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it be dividing between waters and waters.

And made God the expanse, and divided between the waters which were under the expanse and between the waters which were above the expanse. And it was so.

And called God the expanse Heavens. And there was evening and there was morning, day second.

And said God, Let be gathered the waters under the heavens to one place, and let appear the dry land. And it was so.

And called God the dry land Earth, and the gathering of the waters he called Seas. And saw God that it was good.

And said God, Let sprout the earth vegetation, plants yielding seed, fruit trees bearing fruit after their kind, in which is their seed, upon the earth. And it was so.

And brought forth the earth vegetation, plants yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, after their kind. And saw God that it was good.

And there was evening and there was morning, day third.

And said God, Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to divide between the day and between the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years.

And let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth. And it was so.

And made God the two great lights, the greater light for the rule of the day, and the lesser light for the rule of the night, and the stars.

And set them God in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth.

And to rule in the day and in the night, and to divide between the light and between the darkness. And saw God that it was good.

And there was evening and there was morning, day fourth.

And said God, Let swarm the waters with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the expanse of the heavens.

And created God the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which swarmed the waters, after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind. And saw God that it was good.

And blessed them God, saying, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let the birds multiply on the earth.

And there was evening and there was morning, day fifth.

And said God, Let bring forth the earth living creatures after their kind, livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth after their kind. And it was so.

And made God the beasts of the earth after their kind, and the livestock after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after its kind. And saw God that it was good.

And said God, Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.

And created God man in his image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

And blessed them God, and said to them God, Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.

And said God, Behold, I have given to you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food.

And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which is living breath, every green plant for food. And it was so.

And saw God everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, day the sixth.
