Og Herren talte til Moses og sa:

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

Tal til Aron og hans sønner og til alle Israels barn og si til dem: Dette er det som Herren har befalt:

Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them: This is the thing which Jehovah hath commanded, saying,

Enhver mann av Israels hus som slakter en okse, et lam eller en geit i leiren eller utenfor leiren,

What man soever there be of the house of Israel, that killeth an ox, or lamb, or goat, in the camp, or that killeth it without the camp,

og ikke bringer det til inngangen til møteteltet for å ofre det som en gave til Herren foran Herrens tabernakel, blod skal tilregnes den mannen; han har utgytt blod, og den mannen skal utestenges fra sitt folk.

and hath not brought it unto the door of the tent of meeting, to offer it as an oblation unto Jehovah before the tabernacle of Jehovah: blood shall be imputed unto that man; he hath shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people:

For at Israels barn skal bringe sine offer, som de ofrer på den åpne marken, bringe dem til Herren, til inngangen til møteteltet, til presten, og ofre dem som fredsoffer til Herren.

To the end that the children of Israel may bring their sacrifices, which they sacrifice in the open field, even that they may bring them unto Jehovah, unto the door of the tent of meeting, unto the priest, and sacrifice them for sacrifices of peace-offerings unto Jehovah.

Og presten skal stenke blodet på Herrens alter ved inngangen til møteteltet og brenne fettet for en behagelig duft til Herren.

And the priest shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar of Jehovah at the door of the tent of meeting, and burn the fat for a sweet savor unto Jehovah.

De skal ikke lenger ofre sine offer til de bukker, som de driver utukt med. Dette skal være en evig lov for dem gjennom alle deres generasjoner.

And they shall no more sacrifice their sacrifices unto the he-goats, after which they play the harlot. This shall be a statute forever unto them throughout their generations.

Og du skal si til dem: Enhver mann av Israels hus eller blant de fremmede som bor blant dem, som ofrer et brennoffer eller et annet offer,

And thou shalt say unto them, Whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among them, that offereth a burnt-offering or sacrifice,

og ikke bringer det til inngangen til møteteltet for å ofre det til Herren, den mannen skal utestenges fra sitt folk.

and bringeth it not unto the door of the tent of meeting, to sacrifice it unto Jehovah; that man shall be cut off from his people.

Enhver mann av Israels hus eller blant de fremmede som bor blant dem, som spiser noe som helst blod, jeg vil vende mitt ansikt mot den sjel som spiser blod og utestenge ham fra sitt folk.

And whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among them, that eateth any manner of blood, I will set my face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people.

For kjøttets liv er i blodet, og jeg har gitt det til dere på alteret for å gjøre soning for deres sjeler. For det er blodet som gjør soning fordi livet er i det.

For the life of the flesh is in the blood; and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh atonement by reason of the life.

Derfor har jeg sagt til Israels barn: Ingen av dere skal spise blod, heller ikke noen fremmed som bor blant dere skal spise blod.

Therefore I said unto the children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood.

Enhver mann av Israels barn eller blant de fremmede som bor blant dem, som fanger et dyr eller en fugl som kan spises, han skal helle ut blodet og dekke det med jord.

And whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among them, who taketh in hunting any beast or bird that may be eaten; he shall pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust.

For livet til alt kjøtt er dets blod, og derfor har jeg sagt til Israels barn: Dere skal ikke spise blod av noe kjøtt, for livet til alt kjøtt er dets blod. Enhver som spiser det, skal utestenges.

For as to the life of all flesh, the blood thereof is `all one' with the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh; for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.

Og enhver sjel som spiser det som dør av seg selv eller som er revet i filler av dyr, enten han er innfødt eller fremmed, han skal vaske sine klær og bade seg i vann og være uren til kvelden. Deretter skal han være ren.

And every soul that eateth that which dieth of itself, or that which is torn of beasts, whether he be home-born or a sojourner, he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even: then shall he be clean.

Men hvis han ikke vasker sine klær og ikke bader sitt legeme, da skal han bære sin skyld.

But if he wash them not, nor bathe his flesh, then he shall bear his iniquity.
