Blessed be the name of Jehovah From this time forth and for evermore.

Fra soloppgang til solnedgang skal Herrens navn lovprises.

From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same Jehovah's name is to be praised.

Herren er opphøyd over alle folkeslag, og hans herlighet er over himmelen.

Jehovah is high above all nations, And his glory above the heavens.

Hvem er som Herren vår Gud, som har sin trone i det høye?

Who is like unto Jehovah our God, That hath his seat on high,

Han bøyer seg ned for å se til det som er i himmelen og på jorden.

That humbleth himself to behold `The things that are' in heaven and in the earth?

Han reiser den fattige opp fra støvet, og løfter den trengende fra skraphaugen,

He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, And lifteth up the needy from the dunghill;

for å sette ham blant fyrster, blant sitt folks fyrster.

That he may set him with princes, Even with the princes of his people.

Han gjør den ufruktbare kvinne til husfrue, til en glad mor med barn. Lovpris Herren.
