Verse 1
Han gikk igjen inn i synagogen, og der var det en mann med en vissen hånd.
And he went again into the Synagogue; and there was a man there whose hand was dead.
Verse 2
De holdt øye med ham for å se om han ville helbrede på sabbaten, for å kunne anklage ham.
And they were watching him to see if he would make him well on the Sabbath day, so that they might have something against him.
Verse 3
Han sa til mannen: Reis deg og kom fram.
And he said to the man, Get up and come forward.
Verse 4
Han sa til dem: Er det rett å gjøre godt på sabbaten, eller å gjøre ondt? Å redde liv eller å ta liv? Men de svarte ikke.
And he said to them, Is it right to do good on the Sabbath or to do evil? to give life or to put to death? But they said nothing.
Verse 5
Han så sint rundt på dem, bedrøvet over hjertehardheten deres, og sa til mannen: Strekk ut hånden din. Han gjorde det, og hånden ble frisk.
And looking round on them he was angry, being sad because of their hard hearts; and he said to the man, Put out your hand. And he put it out, and his hand was made well.
Verse 6
Fariseerne gikk da ut og begynte straks å legge planer med herodianerne om å drepe ham.
And the Pharisees went out, and straight away made designs with the Herodians about how they might put him to death.
Verse 7
Jesus trakk seg tilbake til sjøen sammen med disiplene sine, og en stor skare fra Galilea fulgte etter ham; også fra Judea,
And Jesus went away with his disciples to the sea, and a great number from Galilee came after him: and from Judaea,
Verse 8
fra Jerusalem, fra Idumea, fra den andre siden av Jordan og fra traktene rundt Tyre og Sidon. En stor mengde som hadde hørt om alt han gjorde, kom til ham.
And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and the other side of Jordan, and the country about Tyre and Sidon, a great number, hearing what great things he did, came to him.
Verse 9
Han ba disiplene om å holde en liten båt klar for seg, for at folkemengden ikke skulle trenge ham ned.
And he made a request to his disciples to have a little boat ready for him, so that he might not be crushed by the people;
Verse 10
For han hadde helbredet så mange at alle som hadde plager, presset frem for å få røre ved ham.
For he had made such a great number well that all those who were diseased were falling down before him for the purpose of touching him.
Verse 11
Og de urene åndene, når de så ham, falt de ned for ham og ropte: Du er Guds Sønn.
And the unclean spirits, whenever they saw him, went down before him, crying out, and saying, You are the Son of God.
Verse 12
Han bød dem strengt om ikke å si hvem han var.
And he gave them special orders not to say who he was.
Verse 13
Han gikk opp på fjellet og kalte til seg dem han ønsket, og de kom til ham.
And he went up into the mountain, and sent for those whom it was his pleasure to have with him: and they went to him.
Verse 14
Han valgte tolv som skulle være med ham, slik at han kunne sende dem ut for å forkynne,
And he took twelve to be with him, so that he might send them out as preachers,
Verse 15
og gi dem makt til å drive ut onde ånder:
And give them the power of driving out evil spirits:
Verse 16
Til Simon ga han navnet Peter;
To Simon he gave the second name of Peter;
Verse 17
til Jakob, Sebedeus' sønn, og Johannes, Jakobs bror, ga han navnet Boanerges, det betyr tordensønner;
And to James, the son of Zebedee, and John, the brother of James, he gave the second name of Boanerges, which is, Sons of thunder:
Verse 18
og Andreas, og Filip, og Bartolomeus, og Matteus, og Thomas, og Jakob, Alfeus' sønn, og Taddeus, og Simon seloten;
And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James, the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Zealot;
Verse 19
og Judas Iskariot, han som forrådte ham.
And Judas Iscariot, who was false to him.
Verse 20
Han gikk inn i et hus, og folket samlet seg igjen, så de ikke engang fikk tid til å spise.
And he went into a house. And the people came together again, so that they were not even able to take bread.
Verse 21
Da venner av ham fikk høre det, gikk de ut for å ta hånd om ham, for de sa: Han er fra forstanden.
And when his friends had news of it, they went out to get him, saying, He is off his head.
Verse 22
De skriftlærde som var kommet ned fra Jerusalem, sa: Han har Beelzebul, og med de onde åndenes fyrste driver han de onde åndene ut.
And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem, said, He has Beelzebub, and, By the ruler of evil spirits he sends evil spirits out of men.
Verse 23
Han kalte dem til seg og begynte å tale i lignelser: Hvordan kan Satan drive ut Satan?
And turning to them, he said to them in the form of a story, How is it possible for Satan to put out Satan?
Verse 24
Hvis et rike er i strid med seg selv, kan ikke det riket bestå.
If there is division in a kingdom, that kingdom will come to destruction;
Verse 25
Og hvis et hus er i strid med seg selv, kan ikke det huset bestå.
And if there is division in a house, that house will come to destruction;
Verse 26
Og hvis Satan reiser seg mot seg selv og er i strid med seg selv, kan han ikke bestå, men det er ute med ham.
And if Satan is at war with himself, and there is division in him, he will not keep his place but will come to an end.
Verse 27
Ingen kan gå inn i den sterke manns hus og røve hans gods uten først å binde den sterke. Da kan han røve huset.
But no one is able to go into the house of the strong man and take his goods, without first putting cords round the strong man, and then he will take his goods.
Verse 28
Sannelig, jeg sier dere: Alle syndene skal menneskenes barn få tilgivelse for, også alle de bespottende ord de taler,
Truly, I say to you, The sons of men will have forgiveness for all their sins and for all the evil words they say:
Verse 29
men den som spotter Den Hellige Ånd, får aldri tilgivelse; han bærer evig skyld.
But whoever says evil things against the Holy Spirit will never have forgiveness, but the evil he has done will be with him for ever:
Verse 30
Dette sa han fordi de sa: Han har en uren ånd.
Because they said, He has an unclean spirit.
Verse 31
Hans mor og brødre kom, de stod utenfor og sendte bud etter ham for å få ham ut.
And his mother and brothers came and were outside, and sent for him, requesting to see him.
Verse 32
Det satt mange rundt ham, og de sa: Din mor og dine brødre er utenfor og spør etter deg.
And a great number were seated round him; and they said to him, See, your mother and your brothers are outside looking for you.
Verse 33
Han svarte: Hvem er min mor og mine brødre?
And he said in answer, Who are my mother and my brothers?
Verse 34
Han så på dem som satt rundt ham og sa: Her er min mor og mine brødre!
And looking round at those who were seated about him, he said, See, my mother and my brothers!
Verse 35
For den som gjør Guds vilje, han er min bror og søster og mor.
Whoever does God's pleasure, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
