Verse 49

Your fathers took the manna in the waste land--and they are dead.

John 6:31 : 31 Our fathers had the manna in the waste land, as the Writings say, He gave them bread from heaven.
John 6:58 : 58 This is the bread which has come down from heaven. It is not like the food which your fathers had: they took of the manna, and are dead; but he who takes this bread for food will have life for ever.
1 Cor 10:3-5 : 3 And they all took the same holy food; 4 And the same holy drink: for they all took of the water from the holy rock which came after them: and the rock was Christ. 5 But with most of them God was not pleased: for they came to their end in the waste land.
Heb 3:17-19 : 17 And with whom was he angry for forty years? was it not with those who did evil, who came to their deaths in the waste land? 18 And to whom did he make an oath that they might not come into his rest? was it not to those who went against his orders? 19 So we see that they were not able to go in because they had no belief.
Jude 1:5 : 5 Now it is my purpose to put you in mind, though you once had knowledge of all these things, of how the Lord, having taken a people safely out of Egypt, later sent destruction on those who had no faith;
Num 26:65 : 65 For the Lord had said of them, Death will certainly overtake them in the waste land. And of them all, only Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua, the son of Nun, were still living.
Zech 1:5 : 5 Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they go on living for ever?
