Verse 32

Now while the children of Israel were in the waste land, they saw a man who was getting sticks on the Sabbath day.

Exod 35:2-3 : 2 Six days let work be done, but the seventh day is to be a holy day to you, a Sabbath of rest to the Lord; whoever does any work on that day is to be put to death. 3 No fire is to be lighted in any of your houses on the Sabbath day.
Exod 16:23 : 23 And he said, This is what the Lord has said, Tomorrow is a day of rest, a holy Sabbath to the Lord: what has to be cooked may be cooked; and what is over, put on one side to be kept till the morning.
Exod 16:27-28 : 27 But still on the seventh day some of the people went out to get it, and there was not any. 28 And the Lord said to Moses, How long will you go against my orders and my laws?
Exod 20:8-9 : 8 Keep in memory the Sabbath and let it be a holy day. 9 On six days do all your work: 10 But the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God; on that day you are to do no work, you or your son or your daughter, your man-servant or your woman-servant, your cattle or the man from a strange country who is living among you:
Exod 31:14-15 : 14 So you are to keep the Sabbath as a holy day; and anyone not honouring it will certainly be put to death: whoever does any work on that day will be cut off from his people. 15 Six days may work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of complete rest, holy to the Lord; whoever does any work on the Sabbath day is to be put to death.
