In the four hundred eightieth year after the people of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv (the second month), he began building the house of the LORD.

And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.

The house that King Solomon built for the LORD was sixty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and thirty cubits high.

And the house which king Solomon built for the LORD, the length thereof was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits.

The vestibule in front of the main hall of the house was twenty cubits long, extending along the width of the house, and ten cubits deep in front of the house.

And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; and ten cubits was the breadth thereof before the house.

He made windows with recessed frames for the house.

And for the house he made windows of narrow lights.

He built a structure against the wall of the house, enclosing the walls of the house around the main hall and the inner sanctuary, and he made side chambers all around.

And against the wall of the house he built chambers round about, against the walls of the house round about, both of the temple and of the oracle: and he made chambers round about:

The lowest side chamber was five cubits wide, the middle was six cubits wide, and the third was seven cubits wide. For around the outside of the house, he made offsets on the wall so that the beams would not be embedded in the walls of the house.

The nethermost chamber was five cubits broad, and the middle was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad: for without in the wall of the house he made narrowed rests round about, that the beams should not be fastened in the walls of the house.

The house, when it was being built, was constructed of finished stone cut from the quarry, so that no hammer or axe or any iron tool was heard in the house while it was being built.

And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.

The entrance to the lowest side chamber was on the south side of the house, with stairs going up to the middle story, and from the middle story to the third.

The door for the middle chamber was in the right side of the house: and they went up with winding stairs into the middle chamber, and out of the middle into the third.

So he built the house and finished it, and he covered the house with beams and rows of cedar boards.

So he built the house, and finished it; and covered the house with beams and boards of cedar.

He also built the annex against the entire house, five cubits high, and it was attached to the house with cedar beams.

And then he built chambers against all the house, five cubits high: and they rested on the house with timber of cedar.

Then the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying:

And the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying,

Concerning this house that you are building, if you will walk in my statutes and carry out my ordinances, and keep all my commandments by walking in them, then I will establish my word with you, which I spoke to David your father.

Concerning this house which thou art in building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father:

And I will dwell among the people of Israel and will not forsake my people Israel.

And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.

So Solomon built the house and completed it.

So Solomon built the house, and finished it.

He built the walls of the house on the inside with cedar boards, from the floor of the house to the ceiling, overlaying the interior with wood, and he covered the floor of the house with cypress planks.

And he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar, both the floor of the house, and the walls of the cieling: and he covered them on the inside with wood, and covered the floor of the house with planks of fir.

He built twenty cubits at the rear of the house with cedar boards, from the floor to the walls, to form the inner sanctuary, the Most Holy Place.

And he built twenty cubits on the sides of the house, both the floor and the walls with boards of cedar: he even built them for it within, even for the oracle, even for the most holy place.

The main hall in front of the inner sanctuary was forty cubits long.

And the house, that is, the temple before it, was forty cubits long.

The cedar within the house was carved with gourds and open flowers. All was cedar; no stone could be seen.

And the cedar of the house within was carved with knops and open flowers: all was cedar; there was no stone seen.

He prepared the inner sanctuary inside the house to set the ark of the covenant of the LORD there.

And the oracle he prepared in the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of the LORD.

The inner sanctuary was twenty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and twenty cubits high, and he overlaid it with pure gold. He also overlaid the altar with cedar.

And the oracle in the forepart was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof: and he overlaid it with pure gold; and so covered the altar which was of cedar.

Solomon overlaid the interior of the house with pure gold, and he placed gold chains across the front of the inner sanctuary, which he also overlaid with gold.

So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold: and he made a partition by the chains of gold before the oracle; and he overlaid it with gold.

So the entire house was overlaid with gold until the entire house was finished. He also overlaid the altar that belonged to the inner sanctuary with gold.

And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until he had finished all the house: also the whole altar that was by the oracle he overlaid with gold.

In the inner sanctuary, he made two cherubim of olive wood, each ten cubits high.

And within the oracle he made two cherubims of olive tree, each ten cubits high.

One wing of the cherub was five cubits and the other wing was five cubits, making a total of ten cubits from wingtip to wingtip.

And five cubits was the one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub: from the uttermost part of the one wing unto the uttermost part of the other were ten cubits.

The second cherub was also ten cubits; both cherubim had the same size and shape.

And the other cherub was ten cubits: both the cherubims were of one measure and one size.

The height of the first cherub was ten cubits, and so was the height of the second cherub.

The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so was it of the other cherub.

He placed the cherubim in the inner house, and their wings were spread out. One wing of each cherub touched one wall, and their other wings touched each other in the center of the house.

And he set the cherubims within the inner house: and they stretched forth the wings of the cherubims, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the midst of the house.

He overlaid the cherubim with gold.

And he overlaid the cherubims with gold.

He decorated the walls of the house all around with carved engravings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers, both in the inner and outer rooms.

And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, within and without.

He also overlaid the floor of the house with gold, both the inner and the outer rooms.

And the floor of the house he overlaid with gold, within and without.

For the entrance to the inner sanctuary, he made doors of olive wood; the doorposts formed a pentagon.

And for the entering of the oracle he made doors of olive tree: the lintel and side posts were a fifth part of the wall.

The two doors were made of olive wood, and he carved on them cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers. He overlaid them with gold and spread the gold over the cherubim and the palm trees.

The two doors also were of olive tree; and he carved upon them carvings of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold, and spread gold upon the cherubims, and upon the palm trees.

In the same way, he made doorposts of olive wood for the entrance to the main hall. They were four-sided.

So also made he for the door of the temple posts of olive tree, a fourth part of the wall.

The two doors were of cypress wood. Each door had two folding panels; one door had two folding sections, and the other door also had two folding sections.

And the two doors were of fir tree: the two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.

He carved cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers on them, and he overlaid the carvings with evenly applied gold.

And he carved thereon cherubims and palm trees and open flowers: and covered them with gold fitted upon the carved work.

He built the inner courtyard with three rows of hewn stone and a row of cedar beams.

And he built the inner court with three rows of hewed stone, and a row of cedar beams.

In the fourth year, in the month of Ziv (the second month), the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.

In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of the LORD laid, in the month Zif:

In the eleventh year, in the month of Bul (the eighth month), the house was completed in every detail according to its specifications. Solomon built it in seven years.

And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So was he seven years in building it.
