Woe to those who devise wickedness and plan evil on their beds! At dawn, they carry it out because they have the power to do it.

Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.

They covet fields and seize them; they take houses and rob them. They oppress a man and his house, a person and their inheritance.

And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.

Therefore, this is what the LORD says: 'I am planning disaster against this family, from which you cannot free your necks, nor will you walk proudly, for it will be a time of calamity.'

Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time is evil.

On that day, they will take up a taunt against you and wail with bitter lament, saying: 'We are utterly ruined; my people's inheritance is divided. How it has been taken away from me! He removes our fields and gives them to traitors.'

In that day shall one take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, We be utterly spoiled: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from me! turning away he hath divided our fields.

Therefore, you will have no one in the assembly of the LORD to divide the land by lot.

Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast a cord by lot in the congregation of the LORD.

'Do not preach,' they preach. 'Do not preach about such things; disgrace will not overtake us.'

Prophesy ye not, say they to them that prophesy: they shall not prophesy to them, that they shall not take shame.

House of Jacob, is the Spirit of the LORD impatient? Are these His deeds? Do not my words do good to those who do right?

O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?

But lately, my people have risen up like an enemy. You strip off the garments of those who pass by trustingly, returning from war.

Even of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men averse from war.

You drive the women of my people out of their pleasant homes. You take away my splendor from their children forever.

The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children have ye taken away my glory for ever.

Get up and leave, for this is not your resting place! Because it is defiled, it brings destruction—a grievous destruction.

Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.

If someone full of wind and deceit lies and says, 'I will preach to you about wine and strong drink,' that would be just the preacher for this people!

If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.

I will surely gather all of you, Jacob; I will surely bring together the remnant of Israel. I will place them together like sheep in a fold, like a flock in its pasture—a noisy throng of people.

I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men.

The one who breaks through will go before them; they will burst out, pass through the gate, and go out by it. Their king will pass before them, and the LORD will lead the way.

The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them.
