Verse 1
Praise the LORD, for it is good to sing praises to our God; it is pleasant, and praise is fitting.
Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.
Verse 2
The LORD builds up Jerusalem; He gathers the exiles of Israel.
The LORD doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.
Verse 3
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
Verse 4
He counts the number of the stars; He gives names to all of them.
He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.
Verse 5
Great is our Lord and mighty in power; His understanding is beyond measure.
Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.
Verse 6
The LORD lifts up the humble; He brings the wicked down to the ground.
The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.
Verse 7
Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; make music to our God with the harp.
Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:
Verse 8
He covers the sky with clouds; He prepares rain for the earth; He makes the mountains sprout grass.
Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.
Verse 9
He provides food for the animals and for the young ravens when they cry.
He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.
Verse 10
He does not delight in the strength of the horse; He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man.
He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.
Verse 11
The LORD takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who hope in His steadfast love.
The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.
Verse 12
Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem! Glorify your God, O Zion!
Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.
Verse 13
For He strengthens the bars of your gates; He blesses your children within you.
For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.
Verse 14
He makes peace in your borders and satisfies you with the finest of wheat.
He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.
Verse 15
He sends His command to the earth; His word runs swiftly.
He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.
Verse 16
He gives snow like wool; He scatters frost like ashes.
He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.
Verse 17
He hurls down His hail like crumbs; who can stand before His cold?
He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?
Verse 18
He sends out His word and melts them; He makes His wind blow, and the waters flow.
He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.
Verse 19
He declares His word to Jacob, His statutes and judgments to Israel.
He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.
Verse 20
He has not done this for any other nation; they do not know His judgments. Hallelujah!
He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.
