Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul.

Save me, God, because the waters have come up to my neck.

I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.

I am sinking in deep mire where there is no foothold. I have come into deep waters, and the current has overwhelmed me.

I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.

I am tired of calling for help; my throat is parched. My eyes are worn out from looking for my God.

They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine head: they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away.

More numerous than the hairs of my head are those who hate me without cause; powerful are those who seek to destroy me with lies. What I did not steal must I now restore?

O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee.

God, you know my foolishness, and my guilt is not hidden from you.

Let not them that wait on thee, O Lord GOD of hosts, be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek thee be confounded for my sake, O God of Israel.

Let those who hope in you, Lord God of Hosts, not be ashamed because of me; let those who seek you, God of Israel, not be humiliated because of me.

Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face.

For I have endured insult for your sake, and shame has covered my face.

I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother's children.

I have become a stranger to my brothers, an alien to my mother’s sons.

For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.

But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.

But as for me, my prayer is to you, Lord, at an acceptable time. God, in your abundant love, answer me with your salvation, which is sure.

Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.

Rescue me from the mud, and do not let me sink. Deliver me from those who hate me, and from the deep waters.

Let not the waterflood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.

Do not let the floodwaters overwhelm me; do not let the deep swallow me up, or let the pit close its mouth over me.

Hear me, O LORD; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.

Answer me, LORD, because your steadfast love is good; in your abundant compassion, turn to me.
