For the director of music: Do not destroy. A psalm of Asaph. A song.
Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.
We give thanks to you, O God; we give thanks, for your name is near. People recount your wondrous works.
When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly.
When I choose the appointed time, I will judge with fairness.
The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah.
The earth and all its inhabitants are dissolving, but I have set its pillars firmly. Selah.
I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:
I said to the arrogant, ‘Do not boast’; and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horn.’
Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.
Do not lift your horn to the heavens or speak with a haughty neck.
For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.
For exaltation does not come from the east, the west, or the wilderness.
But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.
For God is the judge; he brings one down and lifts another up.
For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.
For in the hand of the LORD is a cup full of foaming wine mixed with spices. He pours it out, and all the wicked of the earth drink it down to its very dregs.
But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
But as for me, I will declare this forever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.
I will cut off the horns of the wicked, but the horns of the righteous will be lifted up.
