Verse 1
A psalm, a song for the Sabbath day.
It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:
Verse 2
It is good to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praises to Your name, O Most High.
To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,
Verse 3
To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning and Your faithfulness by night.
Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound.
Verse 4
With the ten-stringed instrument, with the harp, and with the meditative sound of the lyre.
For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.
Verse 5
For You have made me glad by Your work, O LORD; I will sing for joy at the works of Your hands.
O LORD, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep.
Verse 6
How great are Your works, O LORD! How profound are Your thoughts!
A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this.
Verse 7
A senseless person does not know, and a fool does not understand this:
When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:
Verse 8
Though the wicked spring up like grass, and all evildoers flourish, they will be destroyed forever.
But thou, LORD, art most high for evermore.
Verse 9
But You, O LORD, are exalted forever.
For, lo, thine enemies, O LORD, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.
Verse 10
For behold, Your enemies, O LORD, for behold, Your enemies will perish; all evildoers will be scattered.
But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.
Verse 11
But You have exalted my horn like that of a wild ox; I have been anointed with fresh oil.
Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me.
Verse 12
My eyes will see the fall of my enemies; my ears will hear the downfall of my wicked foes who rise against me.
The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
Verse 13
The righteous will flourish like a palm tree; they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon.
Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.
Verse 14
Planted in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God.
They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;
Verse 15
They will still bear fruit in old age; they will stay fresh and green.
To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.
Verse 16
Proclaiming, 'The LORD is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.'
