What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin so that grace may increase?

Absolutely not! How can we who died to sin still live in it?

God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Or do you not know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

Therefore, we were buried with Him by baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

For if we have been united with Him in the likeness of His death, we will certainly also be united with Him in the resurrection.

For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

We know this: our old self was crucified with Him so that the body of sin might be rendered powerless, and we would no longer be enslaved to sin.

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

For the one who has died has been freed from sin.

For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with Him.

Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

We know that Christ, having been raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has power over Him.

Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

For the death He died, He died to sin once for all time; but the life He lives, He lives to God.

For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

So you too consider yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Therefore, do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its desires.

Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

Do not present the parts of your body as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and the parts of your body as instruments of righteousness to God.

Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

For sin will not rule over you, because you are not under the law but under grace.

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? Certainly not!

What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

Do you not know that if you offer yourselves as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?

Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

But thanks be to God that, though you were slaves of sin, you obeyed from the heart the pattern of teaching to which you were entrusted.

But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

Having been set free from sin, you became slaves to righteousness.

Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. Just as you presented the parts of your body as slaves to impurity and lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present them as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification.

I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

For when you were slaves of sin, you were free with regard to righteousness.

For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

But what fruit did you produce then from the things you are now ashamed of? The outcome of those things is death.

What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

But now, having been freed from sin and bound to God, you have your fruit, which leads to sanctification—and the outcome is eternal life.

But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
