As for you, speak the things that are consistent with sound teaching.

But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love, and in perseverance.

That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.

Likewise, older women are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not enslaved to much wine, teachers of good things.

The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

They are to encourage the young women to love their husbands and children,

That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

to be self-controlled, pure, committed to their homes, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, so that the word of God may not be slandered.

To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled.

Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.

In all things, present yourself as an example of good works, with integrity, dignity, and incorruptibility in your teaching.

In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,

Let your speech be sound and beyond reproach, so that any opponent may be ashamed, having nothing bad to say about us.

Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

Slaves are to submit to their own masters in everything, aiming to be well-pleasing and not argumentative.

Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;

They must not pilfer but must demonstrate complete faithfulness, so that they may make the teaching of God our Savior attractive in every way.

Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people.

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

It teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously, and godly in the present age,

Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

while we await the blessed hope and the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

He gave Himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify a people for His own possession, who are eager to do good works.

Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Speak these things, encourage and rebuke with all authority. Let no one disregard you.

These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
