Fra soloppgang til solnedgang skal Herrens navn lovprises.

From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, Yahweh's name is to be praised.

Herren er opphøyd over alle nasjoner, hans herlighet over himmelen.

Yahweh is high above all nations, His glory above the heavens.

Hvem er som Herren, vår Gud, som har sin trone i det høye,

Who is like Yahweh, our God, Who has his seat on high,

som bøyer seg ned for å se i himmelen og på jorden?

Who stoops down to see in heaven and in the earth?

Han reiser den fattige opp fra støvet, løfter den trengende fra askehaugene;

He raises up the poor out of the dust. Lifts up the needy from the ash heap;

for å sette ham sammen med fyrster, ja, med folkets fyrster.

That he may set him with princes, Even with the princes of his people.

Han gir den barnløse kvinne et hjem, som en glad mor til barn. Halleluja!
