Verse 15

The shall they go in, that they maye do seruyce in the Tabernacle of witnesse. Thus shalt thou clense the, & waue them:

These were the chefe amonge the fathers of Laedan. 10 These also were the children of Simei: Iahath, Sina, Ieus and Bria, these foure were Simeis children also. 11 Iahath was the first, Sina the seconde. As for Ieus and Bria, they had not many childre, therfore were they couted but for one fathers house. 12 The childre of Kahath were: Amram, Iezehar, Hebron and Vsiel, these foure. 13 The childre of Amram were: Aaron and Moses. As for Aaron, he was separated, to be sanctified for the Most holy, he & his sonnes for euer, to burne incense before the LORDE, & to mynister and blesse in ye name of the LORDE for euermore. 14 And the children of Moses the man of God were named amonge ye trybe of the Leuites. 15 The childre of Moses were Gerson and Elieser. 16 The children of Gerson, the fyrst was Sebuel. 17 The children of Elieser, the fyrst was Rehabia & Elieser had none other children. But ye childre of Rehabia were many ther ouer. 18 The children of Iezehar were: Salomith the fyrst. 19 The children of Hebron were: Ieria the fyrst, Amaria the seconde, Iahasiel the thirde and Iakmeam ye fourth. 20 The children of Vsiel were: Micha the fyrst and Iesia the seconde. 21 The children of Merari were: Maheli & Musi. The children of Maheli were: Eleasar and Cis. 22 And Eleasar dyed, and had no sonnes but doughters. And the children of Cis their brethren toke them. 23 The children of Musi were: Maheli, Eder and Ieremoth, these thre. 24 These are the children of Leui amonge their fathers houses, and the chefest of the fathers, which were counted after the nombre of ye names heade by heade: which executed the worke of the offices in the house of the LORDE from thirtie yeare olde & aboue. 25 For Dauid sayde: The LORDE God of Israel hath geuen his people rest, & shall dwell at Ierusalem for euer. 26 Amonge ye Leuites also were the childre of Leui nombred from thirtie yeare olde and aboue, that they neded not to beare ye Habitacion with all the vessels of their office, 27 but acordinge to ye last wordes of Dauid, 28 yt they shulde stonde vnder the hande of the children of Aaron, to mynister in the house of the LORDE in the courte, and to the chestes, and for purifyenge, and to all maner of sanctifyenge, and to euery worke of the office in the house of God. 29 And for ye shewbred, for the fyne floure, for the meatoffrynge, for the vnleuended wafers, for the pannes, for ye fryenge, and for all maner of weight and measure. 30 And in the mornynge to stonde for to geue thankes and to prayse the LORDE, and in the euenynge likewyse. 31 And vpon all Sabbathes, Newmones and feastes to offre all the burntofferynges vnto the LOROE, acordinge to the nombre and ordre, allwaye before the LORDE: 32 to wayte vpon the Tabernacle of witnesse and of the Sactuary, and vpon their brethre the children of Aaron, to mynister in the house of the LORDE.
  • 1 Chr 25:1-9 : 1 And Dauid with the chefe captaynes sundered to the offices amonge ye childre of Assaph, Heman & Iedithun ye prophetes with harpes, psalteries & Cymbales, and they were nombred vnto the worke acordynge to their offyce. 2 Amonge the childre of Assaph was Sakur, Ioseph, Nethania, Asarela, childre of Assaph vnder Assaph which prophecyed besyde ye kynge. 3 Of Iedithun: The children of Iedithun were, Gedalia, Zori, Iesaia, Hasabia, Mathithia (Simei) these sixe vnder their father Iedithun wt harpes, whose prophecienge was to geue thankes and to praise the LORDE. 4 Of Heman: The children of Heman were Bukia, Mathania, Vsiel, Sebuel, Ierimoth, Hanania, Hanani, Eliatha, Gilthi, Romamthieser, Ia?baksa, Mallochi, Hothir and Mehesioth. 5 All these were the children of Hema the kynges Seer in the wordes of God to lyfte vp the horne: for God gaue Heman fourtene sonnes & thre daughters. 6 All these were vnder their fathers Assaph Iedithun and Heman, to synge in the house of the LORDE with Cymbales, Psalteries & harpes, acordynge to the office in the house of God besyde the kynge. 7 And their nombre with their brethren, which were taughte in the songe of the LORDE (euery one hauynge vnderstondinge) was two hundreth & eight and foure score. 8 And they cast the lottes ouer their offyce, for the leest as for the greatest, for the master as for the scolar. 9 And the first Lot fell vpo Ioseph which was of Assaph: the seconde vpo Gedolia wt his brethre and sonnes, of whom there were twolue. 10 The thirde vpo Sacur with his sonnes & brethre, of who there were twolue. 11 The fourth vpon Iezri with his sonnes and brethren, of whom there were twolue. 12 The fyfth vpo Nethania with his sonnes and brethre, of whom there were twolue. 13 The syxte vpon Bukia with his sonnes and brethren, of whom there were twolue. 14 The seuenth vpon Iesreela with his sonnes and brethre, of whom there were twolue. 15 The eighte vpon Iesaia with his sonnes and brethren, of whom there were twolue. 16 The nyenth vpon Mathania with his sonnes and brethre, of whom there were twolue. 17 The tenth vpon Simei with his sonnes and brethren, of whom there were twolue. 18 The eleuenth vpon Asraeel with his sonnes and brethren, of whom there were twolue. 19 The twolueth vpon Hasabia with his sonnes and brethre, of whom there were twolue. 20 The thirtenth vpon Subael with his sonnes and brethren, of whom there were twolue. 21 The fourtenth vpon Mathithia with his sonnes & brethre, of whom there were twolue. 22 The fyftenth vpo Ieremoth with his sonnes and brethre, of whom there were twolue. 23 The syxtenth vpon Anania with his sonnes and brethren of whom there were twolue. 24 The seuenteth vpon Ia?bekasa with his sonnes & brethren of whom there were twolue. 25 The eightenth vpon Hanani with his sonnes and brethre, of whom there were twolue. 26 The nyententh vpon Mallothi with his sonnes & brethren, of whom there were twolue.

  • Num 3:23-37 : 23 And the same kynreds of the Gersonites shal pitche behinde the Habitacion on the west syde: 24 Let Eliasaph the sonne of Lael be their ruler. 25 And they shal waite vpon the Tabernacle of wytnesse, of the habitacion, and of the tent, and couerynges therof, and the hangynge in the dore of the Tabernacle of wytnesse, 26 the hangynge aboute the courte, & the hangynge in ye courtedore, which (courte) goeth aboute the habitacion and the altare, and the cordes of it, & all that belongeth to the seruyce therof. 27 These are the kynreds of Rahath: The Amramites, the Iezeharites, the Hebronites, and Vsielites, 28 all that were males of a moneth olde & aboue, in nombre eight thousande and sixe hundreth, waytinge vpon the Tabernacle of the Sanctuary, 29 & shal pitch on the south syde of ye Habitacion: 30 Let Elisaphan the sonne of Vsiel be their ruler. 31 And they shal kepe the Arke, the table, the candilsticke, the altare and all the vessels of the Sanctuary, to do seruyce in, and the vayle, and all that belongeth to the seruice therof. 32 But the chefe of all the rulers of the Leuites, shalbe Eleasar the sonne of Aron the prest, ouer them that are apoynted to kepe the watch of the Sanctuary. 33 These are ye kynreds of Merari: The Mabelites and Musites, 34 which were in nombre sixe thousande and two hudreth, all that were males of a moneth olde and aboue: 35 Let Zuriel ye sonne of Abihail be their ruler, and they shall pitche vpon the north syde of the Habitacion. 36 And their office shalbe to kepe the bordes, and barres, and pilers, and sokettes of the Habitacion, and all the apparell therof and that serueth therto: 37 ye pilers also aboute ye courte, with the sokettes, and nales, and cordes.
  • Num 4:3-9 : 3 from thirtie yeare and aboue vntill fiftye yeare, all that are mete for the warre, that they maye do the worke in the Tabernacle of witnesse. 4 This shal be the office of the children of Rahath in the Tabernacle of wytnesse, which is most holy. 5 Whan the hoost breaketh vp, Aaron and his sonnes shall go in, and take downe the vayle, and couer the Arke of wytnesse therwith, 6 and laye the couerynge of doo skynnes vpon it, and sprede a whole yalowe clothe aboue theron, and put his staues therin. 7 And vpon the shewe table they shal sprede a yalowe clothe also, and set ther on the disshes, spones, flatpeces and pottes to poure out and in, and the daylie bred shal lye vpon it, 8 and they shall sprede a purple clothe ther ouer, and couer it with a couerynge of doo skynnes, and put the staues of it therin. 9 And they shal take a yalowe clothe, and couer the cadilsticke of light therwith, and his lampes, with his snoffers and outquenchers, and all the oyle vessels that belonge to the seruyce, 10 and aboute all this shal they put a couerynge of doo skynnes, and put it vpon staues. 11 So shal they sprede a yalowe clothe ouer the golden altare also, and couer the same with a couerynge of doo skynnes, and put it vpon staues. 12 All the vessels that they occupye in the Sanctuary, shal they take, and put a yalowe clothe ther ouer, & couer them with a couerynge of doo skynnes, and put them vpon staues. 13 They shal swepe the asshes also from the altare, and sprede a clothe of scarlet ouer it, and set all his vessels theron, 14 that they occupye vpon it: colepames, fleshokes, shouels, basens, with all the apparell of the altare, and they shal sprede a couerynge of doo skynnes theron, and put his staues therto. 15 Now whan Aaron and his sonnes haue done this, and haue couered the Sanctuary & all the ornametes therof, whan the hoost breaketh vp, then shal the children of Rahath go in, that they maye beare it, and the Sanctuary shall they not touche, lest they dye. This is the charge of the childre of Rahath in the Tabernacle of wytnesse. 16 And Eleasar the sonne of Aaron ye prest, shal haue the office, to prepare the oyle for the light, and the spyces for the incense, and the daylie meatofferynge, and the anoyntinge oyle, to order the whole habitacion, & all that therin is, in the Sanctuary and the ornamentes therof. 17 And the LORDE spake vnto Moses and Aaron, & sayde: 18 Ye shal not destroye the trybe of the kynred of the Rahathites amoge the Leuites, 19 but this shal ye do with them, yt they maye lyue & not dye, yf they touche the most holy. Aaron and his sonnes shal go in, and appoynte euery one vnto his office & charge. 20 But they shal not go in, presumptuously to loke vpo ye Sanctuary, lest they die. 21 And ye LORDE spake vnto Moses and Aaron & sayde: 22 Take the summe of the children of Gerson also, after their fathers house & kynred, 23 from thirtye yeare & aboue, vntyll fiftye yeare, & appoynte them all yt are mete for the warre, to haue an office in the Tabernacle of wytnesse. 24 This shalbe the office of the kynred of the Gersonites, eue to serue & to beare. 25 They shal beare the curtaynes of the habitacion and of the Tabernacle of wytnesse, and his couerynge and the coueringe of doo skynnes, that is aboue theron, and the hanginge in the dore of the Tabernacle of wytnesse, 26 and the hanginge aboute the courte, which goeth aboute the habitacion and the altare, and their cordes, and all the instrumentes yt serue for the, and all that belongeth to their occupienge. 27 Acordinge vnto the worde of Aaron and of his sonnes, shal all the office of the children of Gerson be done, what so euer they shall beare and occupye. And ye shal se, that they wayte vpon all their charge. 28 This shal be ye office of ye kinred of ye childre of ye Gersonites in ye Tabernacle of witnes. And their waytinge shal be vnder ye hade of Ithamar, the sonne of Aaro the prest. 29 The children of Merari after their kynred and fathers house, shalt thou appoynte also, 30 from thirtie yeare and aboue, vnto fiftie yeare, all that are mete for the warre, yt they maye haue an office in the Tabernacle of wytnesse. 31 But vpon this charge shall they wayte acordinge to all their office in ye Tabernacle of witnesse, that they beare the bordes of the Habitacion, and the barres, and pilers, and sokettes: 32 the pilers of the courte also rounde aboute, and the sokettes and nales and cordes, with all their apparell, acordynge to all their seruyce. And vnto euery one shall ye appoynte his porcion of charge to waite vpon the apparell.
