Verse 8

Shal not I at the same tyme destroye the wyse men of Edom, ad those that haue vnderstondinge, from the mount of Esau?

Isa 29:14 : 14 therfore wil I also shewe vnto this people, a maruelous terrible and greate thinge (Namely this:) I wil destroye the wisdome of their wise, and the vnderstodinge of their lerned men shal perish.
Job 5:12-14 : 12 Which destroyeth the deuyces of the sotyll, so that they are not able to perfourme the thynges that they take in hode: 13 which compaseth ye wyse in their owne craftynesse, and ouertroweth the councell of the wicked: 14 In so moch that they runne in to darcknesse by fayre daye, and grope aboute them at the noone daye, like as in the night.
Ps 33:10 : 10 The LORDE bryngeth the councell of the Heithen to naught, and turneth the deuyces of the people.
Isa 19:3 : 3 And Egipte shalbe choked in hir self. Whe they axe councel at their goddes, at their Prophetes, at their soythsayers and witches: then will I bringe their councel to naught.
Isa 19:13-14 : 13 Fooles are those prynces of Zoan, & proude are the prynces of Noph: yee they dysceaue Egypte mith the nobilite of their stocke. 14 For the LORDE hath made Egypte droncke with the sprete of erroure, and they shal vse it in all matters: eue like as a dronke ma goeth spewinge aboute.
1 Cor 3:19-20 : 19 For the wyssdome off this worlde is foolishnes with God. For it is wrytten: He compaseth the wyse in their craftynesse. 20 And agayne: The LORDE knoweth the thoughtes of the wyse, that they are vayne.
