Når du kommer inn i det landet Herren din Gud gir deg som arv, og du tar det i eie og bosetter deg der,

When you come into the land that the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, and you take possession of it and settle in it,

så skal du ta av førstegrøden av all jordens frukt som du bringer fra landet ditt, som Herren din Gud gir deg, og legge det i en kurv og gå til det stedet Herren din Gud vil utpeke for å la sitt navn bo der.

you shall take some of the first of all the fruit of the ground, which you harvest from your land that the LORD your God is giving you, and put it in a basket. Then you shall go to the place that the LORD your God will choose as a dwelling for His name,

Du skal gå til presten som er der på den tid, og si til ham: «Jeg erklærer i dag for Herren min Gud at jeg er kommet inn i det landet som Herren lovet våre fedre å gi oss.»

and you shall go to the priest who is in office at that time and say to him, 'I declare today to the LORD your God that I have come into the land that the LORD swore to our ancestors to give us.'

Så skal presten ta kurven fra din hånd og sette den ned foran Herrens, din Guds, alter.

Then the priest shall take the basket from your hand and set it down before the altar of the LORD your God.

Da skal du si følgende foran Herren din Gud: «En omvandrende arameer var min far. Han dro ned til Egypt og bodde der som en fremmed, med få folk. Der ble han til et stort, mektig og tallrikt folkeslag.

And you shall declare before the LORD your God, 'My father was a wandering Aramean, and he went down to Egypt, where he lived as a foreigner with only a few people. But there he became a great nation, powerful and numerous.'

Men egypterne mishandlet oss, undertrykte oss og la hardt arbeid på oss.

But the Egyptians mistreated us, oppressed us, and subjected us to harsh labor.

Vi ropte da til Herren, våre fedres Gud, og Herren hørte vår røst, så vår nød, vårt slit og vår undertrykkelse.

Then we cried out to the LORD, the God of our ancestors, and the LORD heard our voice. He saw our suffering, our toil, and our oppression.

Og Herren førte oss ut av Egypt med sterk hånd og utstrakt arm, med stor frykt, med tegn og med under.

So the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, with great terror, and with signs and wonders.

Han førte oss til dette stedet og gav oss dette landet, et land som flyter med melk og honning.

He brought us to this place and gave us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey.

Og nå, se, jeg har brakt førstegrøden av jordens frukt som du, Herre, har gitt meg.» Og du skal legge det ned foran Herren din Gud og tilbe for Herren din Gud.

And now, behold, I bring the firstfruits of the soil that You, LORD, have given me.' You shall set it down before the LORD your God and bow down before Him.

Så skal du glede deg over alt det gode Herren din Gud har gitt deg og ditt hus, både du og levitten og den fremmede som er blant dere.

Then you shall rejoice in all the good things the LORD your God has given you and your household—you, the Levite, and the foreigner residing among you.

Når du i det tredje året, tiendeåret, har gjort fullstendig tiende av all din avling og har gitt den til levitten, den fremmede, den farløse og enken, så de kan spise i dine byer og bli mette,

When you have finished tithing all the produce of your third-year harvest, the year of the tithe, you shall give it to the Levite, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow so that they may eat within your towns and be satisfied.

da skal du si framfor Herren din Gud: «Jeg har tatt ut det hellige avsettet fra huset og også gitt det til levitten, den fremmede, den farløse og enken, etter all din befaling som du har påbudt meg. Jeg har ikke overtrådt dine bud og ikke glemt dem.

Then you shall say before the LORD your God, 'I have removed the sacred portion from my house and also have given it to the Levite, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, according to all your commands. I have not violated or forgotten any of your commandments.'

Jeg har ikke spist av det i sorg, jeg har ikke tatt noe av det bort i urenhet, jeg har ikke gitt noe av det til en død. Jeg har adlydt Herrens, min Guds, røst; jeg har gjort alt som du har befalt meg.

I have not eaten any of it while in mourning, I have not removed any of it while unclean, nor have I offered any of it to the dead. I have obeyed the voice of the LORD my God and have done everything you commanded me.

Se ned fra din hellige bolig, fra himmelen, og velsign ditt folk Israel og det landet du har gitt oss, som du sverget våre fedre, et land som flyter med melk og honning.

Look down from your holy dwelling place in heaven and bless your people Israel and the land you have given us, a land flowing with milk and honey, as you swore to our ancestors.

I dag befaler Herren, din Gud, deg å holde disse forskriftene og rettsreglene. Og du skal ta vare på og gjøre dem av hele ditt hjerte og av hele din sjel.

Today the LORD your God commands you to follow these statutes and judgments; therefore, you must be careful to keep them with all your heart and with all your soul.

Du har i dag latt Herren erklære at han skal være din Gud, og at du skal vandre på hans veier og holde hans forskrifter, bud og lover, og høre på hans røst.

Today you have declared that the LORD will be your God, that you will walk in His ways, keep His statutes, commandments, and judgments, and obey His voice.

Og Herren har i dag erklært deg som sitt verdifulle folk, slik han har sagt, for at du skal holde alle hans bud,

And the LORD has declared today that you are His treasured people as He promised, and that you are to keep all His commandments.

og han vil sette deg høyt over alle folkene som han har skapt, til lov, ry og prakt, så du kan være et hellig folk for Herren din Gud, slik han har sagt.»

He will set you high above all the nations He has made, bringing you praise, fame, and honor. And you will be a holy people to the LORD your God, as He has promised.
