Og Herren sa til Moses: «Si til Aron: Rekk ut hånden din med staven din over elvene, over Nilen og over dammene, og la froskene komme opp over Egypt.»

The LORD said to Moses, "Say to Aaron, 'Stretch out your hand with your staff over the rivers, canals, and ponds, and bring up frogs over the land of Egypt.'"

Og Aron rakte ut hånden sin over vannet i Egypt, og froskene kom opp og dekket landet Egypt.

Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up and covered the land of Egypt.

Og magikerne gjorde det samme med sine hemmelige kunster, og de lot froskene komme opp over landet Egypt.

But the magicians did the same with their secret arts, and they also brought up frogs over the land of Egypt.

Da kalte farao Moses og Aron til seg og sa: «Kjære dere, be til Herren at han fjerner froskene fra meg og mitt folk, så skal jeg sende folket av sted for å ofre til Herren.»

Then Pharaoh called Moses and Aaron and said, "Pray to the LORD to take the frogs away from me and my people, and I will let the people go to offer sacrifices to the LORD."

Moses svarte farao: «Krev ære for deg selv over meg – når skal jeg be for deg, dine tjenere og ditt folk, så froskene fjernes fra deg og husene dine? Bare i Nilen skal de bli tilbake.»

Moses said to Pharaoh, "I leave it to you to set the time for me to pray for you, your officials, and your people, so that the frogs will be removed from you and your houses, remaining only in the Nile."

Og han sa: «I morgen.» Så svarte Moses: «Det skal være som du sier, så du kan vite at det ikke er noen som Herren vår Gud.»

Pharaoh replied, "Tomorrow." And Moses said, "It will be as you say, so that you may know there is no one like the LORD our God."

Froskene skal forsvinne fra deg, fra husene dine, fra dine tjenere og fra ditt folk; bare i Nilen skal de forbli.

The frogs will depart from you, your houses, your officials, and your people; they will remain only in the Nile.

Og Moses og Aron gikk ut fra farao, og Moses ropte til Herren på grunn av froskene som han hadde sendt over farao.

After Moses and Aaron left Pharaoh, Moses cried out to the LORD about the frogs that he had inflicted on Pharaoh.

Og Herren gjorde som Moses hadde bedt om, og froskene døde i husene, gårdsplassene og markene.

And the LORD did as Moses asked, and the frogs died in the houses, the courtyards, and the fields.

De samlet dem i store hauger, og landet stinket.

They were piled into heaps upon heaps, and the land reeked of them.

Da farao så at det var lettelse, forherdet han hjertet sitt og hørte ikke på dem, slik Herren hadde sagt.

But when Pharaoh saw there was relief, he hardened his heart and would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the LORD had said.

Herren sa til Moses: «Si til Aron: Rekk ut staven din og slå støvet på jorden, så det kan bli til mygg i hele Egypt.»

Then the LORD said to Moses, "Say to Aaron, 'Stretch out your staff and strike the dust of the ground, and it will become gnats throughout the land of Egypt.'"

Og de gjorde så. Aron rakte ut hånden med staven sin og slo støvet på jorden, og det ble til mygg på mennesker og dyr. Alt støvet på jorden ble til mygg i hele Egypt.

They did as the LORD commanded. When Aaron stretched out his hand with his staff and struck the dust of the ground, gnats came on people and animals. All the dust in the land of Egypt turned into gnats.

Men magikerne forsøkte med sine hemmeligheter å få frem mygg, men kunne ikke. Og myggen var på menneskene og dyrene.

The magicians tried to produce gnats by their secret arts, but they could not. And the gnats were on people and animals.

Da sa magikerne til farao: «Det er Guds finger.» Men farao forherdet hjertet sitt og lyttet ikke til dem, akkurat som Herren hadde sagt.

The magicians said to Pharaoh, "This is the finger of God." But Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he would not listen to them, just as the LORD had said.

Herren sa til Moses: «Stå tidlig opp om morgenen og still deg foran farao. Se, han skal gå til vannet. Du skal si til ham: Så sier Herren: La mitt folk dra, så de kan tjene meg.»

Then the LORD said to Moses, "Rise early in the morning and stand before Pharaoh as he is going out to the water. Say to him, ‘This is what the LORD says: Let my people go so that they may worship me.'"

Hvis du ikke lar mitt folk dra, skal jeg sende fluer over deg, dine tjenere, ditt folk og dine hus. Og husene i Egypt skal bli fylt med fluer, og også jorden de står på.

If you do not let my people go, I will send swarms of flies upon you, your officials, your people, and your houses. The houses of the Egyptians will be filled with flies, and even the ground they stand on will be covered.

Men på den dagen vil jeg gjøre et unntak for Gosen, der mitt folk bor, så det ikke skal være fluer der. Slik skal du vite at jeg er Herren midt i landet.

But on that day I will set apart the land of Goshen, where my people live, so that no swarms of flies will be there. This will be proof to you that I, the LORD, am in this land.

Jeg vil legge et skille mellom mitt folk og ditt folk. I morgen skal dette tegnet skje.

I will make a distinction between my people and your people. This sign will take place tomorrow.

Og Herren gjorde som Han hadde sagt: Tunge fluesvermer kom inn i faraos hus, i hans tjeners hus og i hele Egypt; landet ble ødelagt av fluesvermene.

And the LORD did as He said. Dense swarms of flies entered Pharaoh’s palace, the houses of his officials, and throughout Egypt, and the land was ruined because of the flies.

Da kalte farao Moses og Aron til seg og sa: «Gå og ofre til deres Gud her i landet.»

Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, "Go, sacrifice to your God here in the land."

Men Moses svarte: «Det passer ikke å gjøre det, for det vi ofrer til Herren vår Gud er en styggedom for egypterne. Se, om vi ofrer det som er en styggedom for egypterne rett foran deres øyne, vil de da ikke steine oss?

But Moses said, "That would not be right. The sacrifices we make to the LORD our God would be detestable to the Egyptians. If we sacrifice what is detestable to them before their eyes, they would stone us.

Vi må gå tre dagsreiser ut i ørkenen og ofre til Herren vår Gud, som han har sagt til oss.»

We must take a three-day journey into the wilderness to offer sacrifices to the LORD our God as he commands us.

Farao sa: «Jeg vil la dere dra, så dere kan ofre til Herren deres Gud i ørkenen. Men gå ikke for langt. Be for meg.»

Pharaoh said, "I will let you go to offer sacrifices to the LORD your God in the wilderness, but you must not go very far. Now pray for me."

Moses svarte: «Se, når jeg nå går bort fra deg, vil jeg be til Herren, og fluesvermene skal vike fra farao, hans tjenere og hans folk i morgen. Bare ikke la farao igjen bedra oss ved å holde folket tilbake fra å dra og ofre til Herren.»

Moses answered, "As soon as I leave you, I will pray to the LORD, and the swarms of flies will depart from Pharaoh, his officials, and his people tomorrow. But let Pharaoh not deal deceitfully again by refusing to let the people go to offer sacrifices to the LORD."

Så gikk Moses ut fra farao og ba til Herren.

Then Moses left Pharaoh and prayed to the LORD.

Og Herren gjorde som Moses hadde sagt, og fjernet fluesvermene fra farao, fra hans tjenere og fra hans folk. Ikke en eneste flue ble tilbake.

And the LORD did as Moses asked: He removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, his officials, and his people; not a single fly remained.

Men denne gangen også gjorde farao hjertet sitt hardt og lot ikke folket dra.

But Pharaoh hardened his heart this time also and would not let the people go.
