Son of man, set your face against the Ammonites and prophesy against them.

Say to the Ammonites: Hear the word of the Sovereign LORD! This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Because you said, 'Aha!' against my sanctuary when it was profaned, and against the land of Israel when it was desolate, and against the house of Judah when they went into exile,

derfor, se, jeg vil gi deg som eiendom til folket fra øst. De skal slå leir hos deg og bo i boligene sine innenfor dine grenser. De skal spise frukten din og drikke melken din.

therefore, I am handing you over to the people of the east as a possession. They will set up their camps among you and pitch their tents around you; they will eat your fruit and drink your milk.

Jeg vil gjøre Rabba til en beitemark for kameler og ammonittene til et hvilested for sauer. Dere skal vite at jeg er Herren.

I will make Rabbah a pasture for camels and the land of the Ammonites a resting place for flocks. Then you will know that I am the LORD.

For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: Because you clapped your hands, stomped your feet, and rejoiced with all the scorn in your heart against the land of Israel,

derfor, se, jeg strekker ut min hånd mot deg og gir deg som rov til nasjonene. Jeg vil utrydde deg fra folkene, fullstendig ødelegge deg fra alle land, og du skal kjenne at jeg er Herren.

therefore, I will stretch out my hand against you and give you as plunder to the nations. I will cut you off from the peoples, destroy you from the lands, and annihilate you. Then you will know that I am the LORD.

Så sier Herren Gud: Moab og Se'ir sier: 'Se, Judas hus er som alle de andre nasjonene.'

This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Because Moab and Seir said, 'Look! The house of Judah is like all the other nations,'

Derfor, se, jeg vil åpne Moabs skulder fra byene, fra hans byer på grensen, den prydfulle landet Bet-Hajesimot, Ba'al Meon og Kiriat-jearim.

therefore, I will expose the flank of Moab, beginning with its frontier cities—the pride of the land—Beth Jeshimoth, Baal Meon, and Kiriathaim.

Jeg vil gi det til folket fra øst sammen med ammonittene som eiendom, for at ammonittene ikke mer skal bli husket blant nasjonene.

I will hand it over, along with the Ammonites, to the people of the east as a possession, so that the Ammonites will no longer be remembered among the nations.

Og i Moab vil jeg gjøre oppgjør, og de skal vite at jeg er Herren.

I will execute judgments on Moab, and they will know that I am the LORD.

Så sier Herren Gud: Fordi Edom har begått hevn mot Judas hus og har båret stor skyld da de tok hevn på dem,

This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Because Edom acted in revenge against the house of Judah and committed great guilt by taking vengeance on them,

derfor, så sier Herren Gud: Jeg vil strekke ut min hånd mot Edom og utrydde både mennesker og dyr derfra. Jeg vil gjøre det til et øde fra Teman, og folket i Dedan skal falle for sverdet.

Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will stretch out my hand against Edom and cut off both man and beast from it. I will make it a wasteland from Teman to Dedan, and they will fall by the sword.

Jeg vil sette min hevn på Edom gjennom mitt folk Israel, og de skal gjøre mot Edom etter min vrede og harme. De skal kjenne min hevn, sier Herren Gud.

I will take my vengeance on Edom by the hand of my people Israel, and they will deal with Edom according to my anger and my wrath. Then they will know my vengeance, declares the Sovereign LORD.

Så sier Herren Gud: Fordi filisterne har gjort hevn med forakt i sjelen for å ødelegge, med fiendskap fra gammel tid,

This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Because the Philistines acted in vengeance and took revenge with malice in their hearts, seeking to destroy Judah with perpetual hostility,

derfor sier Herren Gud: Se, jeg strekker ut min hånd mot filisterne og vil utrydde keretittene og ødelegge resten av kysten.

therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am about to stretch out my hand against the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites and destroy the remnant living on the coast.

Jeg vil utføre kraftige hevnakter mot dem med vredens straff, og de skal vite at jeg er Herren når jeg utfører min hevn på dem.

I will carry out great acts of vengeance on them and punish them with furious rebukes. Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I take vengeance on them.
