Den åttende dagen tilkalte Moses Aron og hans sønner, og Israels eldste.

On the eighth day, Moses called for Aaron, his sons, and the elders of Israel.

Han sa til Aron: «Ta deg en ung oksekalv som syndoffer og en vær som brennoffer, begge uten feil, og frembær dem for Herren.»

He said to Aaron, 'Take a young calf for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering, both without blemish, and present them before the LORD.'

Og til Israels barn skal du si: Ta en geitebukk som syndoffer og en kalv og et lam, begge ett år gamle og uten feil, som brennoffer.

And say to the Israelites, 'Take a male goat for a sin offering, and a calf and a lamb, both a year old and without blemish, for a burnt offering.'

Ta også en okse og en vær som fredsoffer for å ofre for Herren, og et matoffer blandet med olje. For i dag skal Herren åpenbare seg for dere.

'Bring a bull and a ram for a peace offering to sacrifice before the LORD, along with a grain offering mixed with oil, for today the LORD will appear to you.'

Så tok de det Moses hadde befalt dem til foran møteteltet, og hele menigheten nærmet seg og sto framfor Herren.

So they brought what Moses commanded to the front of the Tent of Meeting. Then the entire assembly came near and stood before the LORD.

Moses sa: «Dette er det Herren har befalt dere å gjøre, så hans herlighet kan bli åpenbart for dere.»

Moses said, 'This is what the LORD has commanded you to do so that the glory of the LORD will appear to you.'

Moses sa til Aron: «Gå til alteret, offre ditt syndoffer og brennoffer, og gjør soning for deg selv og folket. Deretter ofre folkets offer og gjør soning for dem, slik Herren har befalt.»

Moses then said to Aaron, 'Come to the altar and offer your sin offering and your burnt offering, making atonement for yourself and for the people. Present the people’s offering and make atonement for them as the LORD has commanded.'

Da gikk Aron fram til alteret og slaktet kalven som var hans syndoffer.

So Aaron came to the altar and slaughtered the calf of the sin offering that was for himself.

Arons sønner brakte blodet til ham, og han dyppet fingeren i blodet og strøk det på alterets horn. Resten av blodet helte han ut ved foten av alteret.

Aaron's sons brought the blood to him. He dipped his finger in the blood and put it on the horns of the altar. Then he poured out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar.

Fettet, nyrene og leverlappen fra syndofferet brant han på alteret, slik Herren hadde befalt Moses.

He burned the fat, the kidneys, and the lobe of the liver from the sin offering on the altar, as the LORD had commanded Moses.

Men kjøttet og huden brente han utenfor leiren.

But the flesh and the hide he burned with fire outside the camp.

Så slaktet han brennofferet, og Arons sønner rakte ham blodet, som han sprengte rundt om på alteret.

Then Aaron slaughtered the burnt offering. His sons brought him the blood, and he dashed it against all sides of the altar.

They brought the burnt offering to him, piece by piece, including the head, and he burned them on the altar.

He washed the entrails and the legs and burned them on the altar along with the burnt offering.

Så brakte han folkets offer, tok syndofferbukken som var for folket, slaktet den og ofret den som syndoffer, akkurat som det første.

Aaron presented the people's offering, took the goat for the sin offering that was for the people, slaughtered it, and offered it as a sin offering like the first one.

Han brakte også fram brennofferet og ofret det i samsvar med forskriften.

He presented the burnt offering and offered it according to the prescribed manner.

Han brakte minneofferet fram, tok en håndfull av det, og brente det på alteret i tillegg til morgenbrennofferet.

He presented the grain offering, took a handful of it, and burned it on the altar in addition to the morning burnt offering.

Then he slaughtered the ox and the ram, the sacrifice of the peace offerings that were for the people. Aaron's sons brought him the blood, which he splashed around the altar.

They also brought the fat portions from the ox and the ram—the fat tail, the fat covering, the kidneys, and the lobe of the liver—

and they placed the fat portions on the breasts. Aaron then burned the fat portions on the altar.

Men bryststykkene og høyre lår foretok Aron svingingen av for Herrens ansikt, som Moses hadde befalt.

Aaron waved the breasts and the right thigh as a wave offering before the LORD, as Moses had commanded.

Aron løftet sine hender mot folket og velsignet dem, og han steg ned etter å ha blitt ferdig med syndofferet, brennofferet og fredsofferet.

Then Aaron raised his hands toward the people and blessed them. After offering the sin offering, the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, he stepped down.

Moses og Aron gikk inn i møteteltet, og da de kom ut igjen, velsignet de folket, og Herrens herlighet viste seg for hele folket.

Moses and Aaron went into the Tent of Meeting. When they came out, they blessed the people, and the glory of the LORD appeared to all the people.

En ild gikk ut fra Herren og fortærte brennofferet og fettstykkene på alteret. Da alt folket så dette, ropte de av glede og falt på sitt ansikt.

Fire came out from the presence of the LORD and consumed the burnt offering and the fat portions on the altar. When all the people saw it, they shouted for joy and fell facedown.
