Jesus gikk igjen inn i synagogen. Der var det en mann med en vissen hånd.

Then Jesus entered the synagogue again, and there was a man there with a withered hand.

De fulgte nøye med om han ville helbrede ham på sabbaten, for å kunne anklage ham.

They were watching Jesus closely to see if He would heal on the Sabbath, so they might accuse Him.

Da sa han til mannen med den visne hånden: 'Stå frem!'

Jesus said to the man with the withered hand, "Stand up in the middle."

Så spurte han dem: 'Er det tillatt å gjøre godt på sabbaten, eller å gjøre ondt? Å redde liv, eller å ta liv?' Men de var stille.

Then He said to them, "Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save a life or to kill?" But they remained silent.

Han så på dem med vrede, bedrøvet over deres harde hjerter, og sa til mannen: 'Rekk ut hånden din!' Mannen rakte den ut, og hans hånd ble frisk igjen.

Looking around at them with anger and deeply distressed at the hardness of their hearts, He said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored.

Da gikk fariseerne ut, og straks begynte de sammen med herodianerne å legge planer om å få tatt livet av ham.

Immediately, the Pharisees went out and began to plot with the Herodians how they might kill Jesus.

Jesus trakk seg tilbake til sjøen med disiplene sine, og en stor folkemasse fra Galilea fulgte ham, også fra Judea

Jesus withdrew with His disciples to the sea, and a large crowd followed Him from Galilee and Judea.

og fra Jerusalem, Idumea, og fra området bortenfor Jordan, og de omkring Tyros og Sidon, en stor skare som hadde hørt om alt det han gjorde, kom til ham.

They also came from Jerusalem, Idumea, and beyond the Jordan, and those from the regions around Tyre and Sidon. A large crowd came to Him after hearing about all He was doing.

Han sa da til disiplene at en liten båt skulle holdes klar for ham på grunn av folkemengden, for at de ikke skulle trenge ham.

Jesus told His disciples to prepare a small boat for Him to avoid being crushed by the crowd.

For han helbredet mange, slik at alle som hadde sykdommer, kastet seg mot ham for å røre ved ham.

For He had healed many, so those with illnesses were pressing forward to touch Him.

De urene åndene falt ned foran ham når de så ham, og ropte: 'Du er Guds Sønn!'

When the impure spirits saw Him, they fell down before Him and cried out, "You are the Son of God!"

But He sternly warned them not to make Him known.

Jesus went up on a mountainside and called those He wanted, and they came to Him.

He appointed twelve so that they might be with Him, and He might send them out to preach.

og ha makt til å helbrede sykdommer og drive ut onde ånder.

And to give them authority to heal diseases and to cast out demons.

Han ga Simon navnet Peter.

He gave Simon the name Peter.

Jakob, sønn av Sebedeus, og Johannes, Jakobs bror, ga han navnet Boanerges, det betyr Tordensønner.

James son of Zebedee and John, the brother of James (He gave them the name Boanerges, which means Sons of Thunder).

and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him.

Så kom de hjem. Igjen samlet det seg en folkemengde, slik at de ikke engang kunne få seg mat.

Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered, so much so that He and His disciples were not even able to eat.

Da hans nærmeste hørte det, dro de av sted for å ta hånd om ham, for de sa: 'Han er fra seg selv.'

When His family heard about this, they went out to take charge of Him, saying, "He is out of His mind."

De skriftlærde som var kommet ned fra Jerusalem, sa: 'Han har Beelsebul i seg, og det er ved høvdingen over de onde åndene han driver de onde åndene ut.'

And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, "He is possessed by Beelzebul! By the prince of demons, He casts out demons."

So Jesus called them over to Him and began to speak to them in parables, "How can Satan cast out Satan?

Hvis et rike er i strid med seg selv, kan det riket ikke bli stående.

If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

Hvis et hus er i strid med seg selv, kan det huset ikke bli stående.

If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

Og hvis Satan har reist seg mot seg selv og er kommet i strid med seg selv, kan han ikke bli stående, men det er ute med ham.

And if Satan rises up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand but has come to an end.

Ingen kan gå inn i en sterk manns hus og røve hans gods uten først å binde den sterke. Først da kan han plyndre huset hans.

No one can enter a strong man's house to plunder his goods unless he first binds the strong man. Then he can plunder his house.

Sannelig, Jeg sier dere: Alle synder og bespottelser som menneskene uttaler, skal bli tilgitt dem.

Truly I tell you, all sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven,

Men den som spotter Den hellige ånd, får aldri i evighet tilgivelse, men er skyldig til evig dom.

but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of eternal sin.

Dette sa han fordi de hadde sagt: 'Han har en uren ånd.'

He said this because they were saying, "He has an impure spirit."

Så kom hans mor og hans brødre, og de stod utenfor og sendte bud etter ham.

Then His mother and brothers came, and standing outside, they sent someone to call Him.

Det satt en stor folkemengde omkring ham, og de sa til ham: 'Se, din mor og dine brødre er utenfor og spør etter deg.'

A crowd was sitting around Him, and they said to Him, "Look, Your mother and Your brothers are outside looking for You."

Han svarte dem: 'Hvem er min mor og mine brødre?'

But He replied to them, "Who are My mother and My brothers?"

Og han så rundt på dem som satt omkring ham, og sa: 'Se, her er min mor og mine brødre!

Looking around at those seated in a circle around Him, He said, "Here are My mother and My brothers!

Den som gjør Guds vilje, er min bror og søster og mor.'

Whoever does the will of God is My brother and sister and mother."
