Verse 1

For sangmesteren, en salme av David, en sang.

For the Chief Musician. A psalm of David. A song.

Verse 2

Gud står opp, hans fiender spredes, de som hater ham, flykter for hans ansikt.

Let God arise; let His enemies be scattered, and let those who hate Him flee from His presence.

Verse 3

Som røk driver bort, så driver du dem bort; som voks smelter for ild, så går de onde til grunne for Guds ansikt.

As smoke is driven away, so drive them away; as wax melts before fire, let the wicked perish before God.

Verse 4

De rettferdige gleder seg, de jubler for Guds ansikt og fryder seg i glede.

But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God and celebrate with joy.

Verse 5

Syng for Gud, lovsyng hans navn. Gjør vei for han som rir gjennom ødemarker. Hans navn er Herren, jubl foran ham.

Sing to God, sing praises to His name; prepare the way for Him who rides through the deserts—His name is Yah, and rejoice before Him.

Verse 6

Fader for farløse og dommer for enker er Gud i sin hellige bolig.

A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling.

Verse 7

Gud gir de ensomme et hjem, fører fanger ut til lykke, men de gjenstridige bor i en tørr ørken.

God sets the lonely in families; He releases the prisoners with gladness, but the rebellious live in a scorched land.

Verse 8

Gud, da du drog ut foran folket ditt, da du marsjerte gjennom ødemarken, selah.

God, when You went out before Your people, when You marched through the wilderness—Selah.

Verse 9

Jorden skalv, himlene dryppet for Guds ansikt, Sinai selv for Guds ansikt, Israels Gud.

The earth shook, and the heavens poured rain at the presence of God, the One of Sinai, at the presence of God, the God of Israel.

Verse 10

Du lot rikelig regn strømme ned, Gud; ditt folk, som var utmattet, styrket du.

You sent abundant rain, O God; You restored Your inheritance when it was weary.

Verse 11

Din menighet bodde der; i din godhet, Gud, sørget du for trengende.

Your people settled in it; in Your goodness, O God, You provided for the poor.

Verse 12

Herren gir et ord, kvinnene som bringer godt budskap er en stor hær.

The Lord gives the command; the women who proclaim the good news are a great host.

Verse 13

Kongene av hærskarene flykter, flykter; hun som blir hjemme, deler byttet.

Kings of armies flee—they flee! And the woman at home divides the spoil.

Verse 14

Selv når dere ligger blant bålgjerdene, er du som duen som har sine vinger dekket med sølv, og fjærene med gull.

If you lie down among the sheepfolds, you will find wings of a dove covered with silver and its feathers with shimmering gold.

Verse 15

Når Den Allmektige sprer kongene der, snør det på Zalmon.

When the Almighty scattered kings in the land, it was as if it had snowed on Zalmon.

Verse 16

Guds fjell er Basans fjell; et fjellet med mange topper, Basans fjell.

The mountain of God is the mountain of Bashan; a mountain of many peaks is Mount Bashan.

Verse 17

Hvorfor ser dere misunnelig, dere mange-toppede fjell? Det er fjellet Gud har ønsket som sin bolig; ja, Herren vil bo der for alltid.

Why do you gaze with envy, you many-peaked mountains, at the mountain God has chosen for His dwelling? Yes, the LORD will dwell there forever.

Verse 18

Guds kjerre er to ganger ti tusen, mange tusen; Herren er blant dem, på Sinai i helligheten.

The chariots of God are tens of thousands, thousands upon thousands; the Lord is among them at Sinai in holiness.

Verse 19

Du steg opp til det høye, tok fanger med deg, tok gaver blant menneskene, selv de opprørske, for å bo der, Gud.

You have ascended on high; You have led captives in Your train; You have received gifts from people, even from the rebellious, that the LORD God may dwell there.

Verse 20

Velsignet være Herren, dag for dag bærer han oss, Gud er vår frelse. Selah.

Blessed be the Lord! Day by day, He bears our burdens—our God is our salvation. Selah.

Verse 21

Gud er for oss en Gud for frelse; og hos Herren, Herren, er det utganger fra døden.

Our God is a God of salvation; the Sovereign LORD delivers from death.

Verse 22

Ja, Gud knuser hodet på fiendene, hodeskallen på dem som går omkring i sine synder.

Surely God will crush the heads of His enemies, the hairy crowns of those who persist in their guilt.

Verse 23

Herren sa: Fra Basan vil jeg føre tilbake, jeg vil føre dem tilbake fra havets dyp.

The Lord has said, 'I will bring them back from Bashan; I will bring them back from the depths of the sea,'

Verse 24

For at din fot skal dyppe i blod, og dine hunders tunge skal få sitt av fiendene.

that You may dip Your feet in blood, that the tongues of Your dogs may have their share of the enemies.

Verse 25

De så dine prosesjoner, Gud, min Guds og kongens prosesjoner i helligdommen.

Your procession has been seen, O God—the procession of my God, my King, into the sanctuary.

Verse 26

Foran går sangerne, etter dem musikerne, midt iblant unge kvinner som slår på tamburiner.

The singers go before, the musicians follow after, in the midst are the maidens playing tambourines.

Verse 27

På festivalene velsign Gud, Herren, fra Israels kilde.

Bless God in the great congregation, bless the LORD from the fountain of Israel.

Verse 28

Der er Benjamin, den yngste, som råder over dem, Judas fyrster i sin flokk, Sebulons fyrster, Naftalis fyrster.

There is Benjamin, the youngest, leading them; the princes of Judah in their assembly, the princes of Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali.

Verse 29

Gi makt til Gud! Gud, som har handlet for oss, skal være mektig.

Command Your strength, O God; display Your power, O God, as You have done for us.

Verse 30

Fra ditt tempel over Jerusalem skal kongene komme med gaver til deg.

From Your temple above Jerusalem, kings will bring You tribute.

Verse 31

Straks tid skal dyrene blandes med vollene, folkeslagene spredes, de skryter om å bære sølv.

Rebuke the beast of the reeds, the herd of mighty bulls among the calves of the peoples. Scatter those who delight in war; scatter them with pieces of silver.

Verse 32

De rike fra Egypt skal komme, Nubia skal strekke sine hender til Gud.

Envoys will come from Egypt; Cush will stretch out her hands to God.

Verse 33

Syng for Gud, jordens kongeriker; lovsyng Herren, selah.

Sing to God, O kingdoms of the earth; sing praises to the Lord—Selah.

Verse 34

Til han som rir i himler av evighet»; se, hans stemme gir kraft.

To the One who rides on the ancient heavens, behold, He gives forth His voice, a powerful voice.

Verse 35

Gi Gud kraften! Over Israel er hans herlighet, og hans styrke er i skyene.

Ascribe strength to God! His majesty is over Israel, and His power is in the skies.

Verse 36

Fryktelig er Gud fra dine helligdommer, Israels Gud. Han gir folk styrke og makt. Velsignet være Gud!

God is awe-inspiring from His sanctuary; the God of Israel gives strength and power to His people. Blessed be God!
