1 I det femogtyvende året av vårt fangenskap, i begynnelsen av året, på den tiende dagen i måneden, i det fjortende året etter at byen var blitt ødelagt, på den samme dagen, var Herrens hånd over meg, og han førte meg dit.

In the five and twentieth year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, in the tenth `day' of the month, in the fourteenth year after that the city was smitten, in the selfsame day, the hand of Jehovah was upon me, and he brought me thither.

2 I Guds visjoner førte han meg til Israels land, og satte meg på et svært høyt fjell, hvor det som så ut som omrisset av en by lå mot sør.

In the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me down upon a very high mountain, whereon was as it were the frame of a city on the south.

3 Han førte meg dit, og se, der var det en mann hvis utseende var som kobber, med en linje av lin i hånden og en målerør, og han sto ved porten.

And he brought me thither; and, behold, there was a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a line of flax in his hand, and a measuring reed; and he stood in the gate.

4 Og mannen sa til meg: Menneskesønn, se med dine øyne og hør med dine ører, og gi akt på alt det jeg vil vise deg; for du er brakt hit for at jeg skal vise deg dette: forkynn alt du ser til Israels hus.

And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thy heart upon all that I shall show thee; for, to the intent that I may show them unto thee, art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.

5 Og se, en mur rundt om huset utvendig, og i mannens hånd var det en målerør seks alen lang, hver alen med en håndsbredd mer: så han målte tykkelsen på bygget, en rør; og høyden, en rør.

And, behold, a wall on the outside of the house round about, and in the man's hand a measuring reed six cubits long, of a cubit and a handbreadth each: so he measured the thickness of the building, one reed; and the height, one reed.

6 Så kom han til porten som vender mot øst, og han gikk opp trinnene der; og han målte portens terskel, en rør bred; og den andre terskelen, en rør bred.

Then came he unto the gate which looketh toward the east, and went up the steps thereof: and he measured the threshold of the gate, one reed broad; and the other threshold, one reed broad.

7 Og hver hytte var en rør lang, og en rør bred; og plassen mellom hyttene var fem alen; og terskelen til porten ved portforhallen mot huset var en rør.

And every lodge was one reed long, and one reed broad; and `the space' between the lodges was five cubits; and the threshold of the gate by the porch of the gate toward the house was one reed.

8 Han målte også portforhallen mot huset, en rør.

He measured also the porch of the gate toward the house, one reed.

9 Deretter målte han portforhallen, åtte alen; og dens stolper, to alen; og portforhallen vendte mot huset.

Then measured he the porch of the gate, eight cubits; and the posts thereof, two cubits; and the porch of the gate was toward the house.

10 Og hyttene ved porten østover var tre på denne siden, og tre på den andre siden; de tre var av samme mål: og stolpene hadde samme mål på denne siden og på den andre siden.

And the lodges of the gate eastward were three on this side, and three on that side; they three were of one measure: and the posts had one measure on this side and on that side.

11 Og han målte bredden på portens åpning, ti alen; og portens lengde, tretten alen.

And he measured the breadth of the opening of the gate, ten cubits; and the length of the gate, thirteen cubits;

12 Og en kant foran hyttene, en alen på denne siden, og en kant, en alen på den siden; og hyttene, seks alen på denne siden, og seks alen på den siden.

and a border before the lodges, one cubit `on this side', and a border, one cubit on that side; and the lodges, six cubits on this side, and six cubits on that side.

13 Og han målte porten fra taket til den ene hytten til taket til den andre, en bredde på tjuefem alen; dør mot dør.

And he measured the gate from the roof of the one lodge to the roof of the other, a breadth of five and twenty cubits; door against door.

14 Han laget også stolper, seksti alen; og gårdsplassen nådde til stolpene, rundt porten.

He made also posts, threescore cubits; and the court `reached' unto the posts, round about the gate.

15 Og fra portens forside ved inngangen til indre forhalen til porten var femti alen.

And `from' the forefront of the gate at the entrance unto the forefront of the inner porch of the gate were fifty cubits.

16 Og der var lukkede vinduer til hyttene, og til deres stolper innenfor porten rundt om, og likeså til buene; og vinduer var rundt om innover; og på hver stolpe var palmetrær.

And there were closed windows to the lodges, and to their posts within the gate round about, and likewise to the arches; and windows were round about inward; and upon `each' post were palm-trees.

17 Så førte han meg til den ytre gårdsplassen; og se, der var det kamre og en brolagt plass, laget for gårdsplassen rundt om: tretti kamre var på denne brolagte plassen.

Then brought he me into the outer court; and, lo, there were chambers and a pavement, made for the court round about: thirty chambers were upon the pavement.

18 Og den brolagte plassen var ved siden av portene, tilsvarende portens lengde, også den lavere brolagte plassen.

And the pavement was by the side of the gates, answerable unto the length of the gates, even the lower pavement.

19 Så målte han bredden fra hovedfronten til den lavere porten til hovedfronten til den indre gården utenfor, hundre alen, både på øst- og nordsiden.

Then he measured the breadth from the forefront of the lower gate unto the forefront of the inner court without, a hundred cubits, `both' on the east and on the north.

20 Og porten til den ytre gården som vender mot nord, målte han dens lengde og dens bredde.

And the gate of the outer court whose prospect is toward the north, he measured the length thereof and the breadth thereof.

21 Og dens hytter var tre på denne siden og tre på den siden; og dens stolper og buer var etter målet til den første porten: dens lengde var femti alen, og bredden tjuefem alen.

And the lodges thereof were three on this side and three on that side; and the posts thereof and the arches thereof were after the measure of the first gate: the length thereof was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.

22 Og dens vinduer, og dens buer, og dens palmetrær, var etter målet av porten som vender mot øst; og de gikk opp til den med sju trinn; og dens buer var foran dem.

And the windows thereof, and the arches thereof, and the palm-trees thereof, were after the measure of the gate whose prospect is toward the east; and they went up unto it by seven steps; and the arches thereof were before them.

23 Og det var en port til den indre gården midt imot den andre porten, både mot nord og mot øst; og han målte fra port til port hundre alen.

And there was a gate to the inner court over against the `other' gate, `both' on the north and on the east; and he measured from gate to gate a hundred cubits.

24 Og han ledet meg mot sør; og se, en port mot sør: og han målte dens stolper og dens buer etter disse mål.

And he led me toward the south; and, behold, a gate toward the south: and he measured the posts thereof and the arches thereof according to these measures.

25 Og det var vinduer i den og i dens buer rundt om, lik disse vinduene: lengden var femti alen, og bredden tjuefem alen.

And there were windows in it and in the arches thereof round about, like those windows: the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.

26 Og det var sju trinn for å gå opp til den, og dens buer var foran dem; og den hadde palmetrær, ett på denne siden, og et annet på den siden, på dens stolper.

And there were seven steps to go up to it, and the arches thereof were before them; and it had palm-trees, one on this side, and another on that side, upon the posts thereof.

27 Og det var en port til den indre gården mot sør: og han målte fra port til port mot sør hundre alen.

And there was a gate to the inner court toward the south: and he measured from gate to gate toward the south a hundred cubits.

28 Så førte han meg til den indre gården ved sørporten: og han målte sørporten etter disse målene.

Then he brought me to the inner court by the south gate: and he measured the south gate according to these measures;

29 Og dens hytter, og dens stolper, og dens buer, etter disse målene: og det var vinduer i den og i dens buer rundt om; den var femti alen lang, og tjuefem alen bred.

and the lodges thereof, and the posts thereof, and the arches thereof, according to these measures: and there were windows in it and in the arches thereof round about; it was fifty cubits long, and five and twenty cubits broad.

30 Og det var buer rundt om, tjuefem alen lange, og fem alen brede.

And there were arches round about, five and twenty cubits long, and five cubits broad.

31 Og dens buer vendte mot den ytre gården; og palmetrær var på dens stolper: og oppstigningen til den hadde åtte trinn.

And the arches thereof were toward the outer court; and palm-trees were upon the posts thereof: and the ascent to it had eight steps.

32 Og han førte meg inn i den indre gården mot øst: og han målte porten etter disse målene.

And he brought me into the inner court toward the east: and he measured the gate according to these measures;

33 Og dens hytter, og dens stolper, og dens buer, etter disse målene: og det var vinduer i den og i dens buer rundt om; den var femti alen lang, og tjuefem alen bred.

and the lodges thereof, and the posts thereof, and the arches thereof, according to these measures: and there were windows therein and in the arches thereof round about; it was fifty cubits long, and five and twenty cubits broad.

And he brought me to the north gate: and he measured `it' according to these measures;

the lodges thereof, the posts thereof, and the arches thereof: and there were windows therein round about; the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.

And the posts thereof were toward the outer court; and palm-trees were upon the posts thereof, on this side, and on that side: and the ascent to it had eight steps.

38 Og et kammer med døren var ved stolpene ved portene; der vasket de brennofferet.

And a chamber with the door thereof was by the posts at the gates; there they washed the burnt-offering.

39 Og i portforhallen var det to bord på denne siden, og to bord på den siden, for å slakte brennofferet, syndofferet og skyldofferet på.

And in the porch of the gate were two tables on this side, and two tables on that side, to slay thereon the burnt-offering and the sin-offering and the trespass-offering.

40 Og på den ene siden utenfor, mens man gikk opp til portinngangen mot nord, var det to bord; og på den andre siden, som tilhørte portforhallen, var det to bord.

And on the `one' side without, as one goeth up to the entry of the gate toward the north, were two tables; and on the other side, which belonged to the porch of the gate, were two tables.

41 Fire bord var på denne siden, og fire bord på den siden, ved siden av porten; åtte bord, som de slaktet ofrene på.

Four tables were on this side, and four tables on that side, by the side of the gate; eight tables, whereupon they slew `the sacrifices'.

42 Og det var fire bord for brennofferet, av tilhugget stein, en alen og en halv lang, en alen og en halv bred, og en alen høy; på dem la de redskapene som de slaktet brennofferet og ofrene med.

And there were four tables for the burnt-offering, of hewn stone, a cubit and a half long, and a cubit and a half broad, and one cubit high; whereupon they laid the instruments wherewith they slew the burnt-offering and the sacrifice.

43 Og krokene, en håndsbredd lange, var festet innvendig rundt om: og på bordene lå kjøttet av matofferet.

And the hooks, a handbreadth long, were fastened within round about: and upon the tables was the flesh of the oblation.

44 Og utenfor den indre porten var det kamre for sangerne i den indre gården, som var på siden av nordporten; og deres ansikt vendte mot sør; ett ved siden av østporten med ansiktet vendt mot nord.

And without the inner gate were chambers for the singers in the inner court, which was at the side of the north gate; and their prospect was toward the south; one at the side of the east gate having the prospect toward the north.

45 Og han sa til meg: Dette kammeret, hvis ansikt er vendt mot sør, er for prestene, husets vakter;

And he said unto me, This chamber, whose prospect is toward the south, is for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the house;

46 og kammeret hvis ansikt er vendt mot nord er for prestene, alterets vakter: disse er Sadoks sønner, som blant Levis sønner kommer nær til Herren for å tjene ham.

and the chamber whose prospect is toward the north is for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the altar: these are the sons of Zadok, who from among the sons of Levi come near to Jehovah to minister unto him.

47 Og han målte gården, hundre alen lang og hundre alen bred, firkantet; og alteret var foran huset.

And he measured the court, a hundred cubits long, and a hundred cubits broad, foursquare; and the altar was before the house.

48 Så førte han meg til husets forsal, og målte hvert stolpe i forsalen, fem alen på denne siden, og fem alen på den siden: og portens bredde var tre alen på denne siden, og tre alen på den siden.

Then he brought me to the porch of the house, and measured each post of the porch, five cubits on this side, and five cubits on that side: and the breadth of the gate was three cubits on this side, and three cubits on that side.

49 Forsalens lengde var tjue alen, og bredden elleve alen; like ved trinnene hvor de gikk opp til den: og det var søyler ved stolpene, én på denne siden, og én på den siden.

The length of the porch was twenty cubits, and the breadth eleven cubits; even by the steps whereby they went up to it: and there were pillars by the posts, one on this side, and another on that side.
