5 Jeg vil bryte Damaskus' portbjelker og utrydde innbyggeren fra Aven-dalen, og han som holder septeret fra Bet-Eden; og Syriens folk skal gå i eksil til Kir," sier Herren.

I will break the bar of Damascus, And cut off the inhabitant from the valley of Aven, And him who holds the scepter from the house of Eden; And the people of Syria shall go into captivity to Kir," says Yahweh.

6 Så sier Herren: "For tre overtredelser av Gaza, ja, for fire, vil jeg ikke avvende straffen; fordi de tok hele samfunnet til fange for å overgi dem til Edom;

Thus says Yahweh: "For three transgressions of Gaza, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; Because they carried away captive the whole community, To deliver them up to Edom;

7 men jeg vil sende ild på veggen til Gaza, og den skal fortære dens palasser.

But I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, And it will devour its palaces.

8 Jeg vil utrydde innbyggeren fra Ashdod, og han som holder septeret fra Ashkelon; jeg vil vende min hånd mot Ekron, og den siste rest av filisterne skal omkomme," sier Herren Gud.

I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, And him who holds the scepter from Ashkelon; And I will turn my hand against Ekron; And the remnant of the Philistines will perish," says the Lord Yahweh.

9 Så sier Herren: "For tre overtredelser av Tyrus, ja, for fire, vil jeg ikke avvende straffen; fordi de overleverte hele samfunnet til Edom, og ikke husket broderpaktens vennskap;

Thus says Yahweh: "For three transgressions of Tyre, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; Because they delivered up the whole community to Edom, And didn't remember the brotherly covenant;

10 men jeg vil sende ild på veggen til Tyrus, og den skal fortære dens palasser."

But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyre, And it will devour its palaces."

11 Så sier Herren: "For tre overtredelser av Edom, ja, for fire, vil jeg ikke avvende straffen; fordi han forfulgte sin bror med sverd, kastet bort all medlidenhet, og hans vrede raste uavlatelig, og han holdt sitt sinne for alltid;

Thus says Yahweh: "For three transgressions of Edom, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; Because he pursued his brother with the sword, And cast off all pity, And his anger raged continually, And he kept his wrath forever;

12 men jeg vil sende ild på Teman, og den skal fortære palassene i Bosra."

But I will send a fire on Teman, And it will devour the palaces of Bozrah."

13 Så sier Herren: "For tre overtredelser av Ammons barn, ja, for fire, vil jeg ikke avvende straffen; fordi de flerret opp de gravide kvinnene i Gilead for å utvide grensene sine.

Thus says Yahweh: "For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; Because they have ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead, That they may enlarge their border.

14 Men jeg vil antenne ild i Rabbahs vegger, og den skal fortære dens palasser med rop på stridens dag, med storm på virvelvindens dag;

But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, And it will devour its palaces, With shouting in the day of battle, With a tempest in the day of the whirlwind;

15 og deres konge skal gå i fangenskap, han og hans fyrster sammen," sier Herren.

And their king will go into captivity, He and his princes together," says Yahweh.
