1 Kom, alle dere som tørster, kom til vannene, og dere som ikke har penger; kom, kjøp og spis! Ja, kom, kjøp vin og melk uten penger og uten pris.

Ho, everyone who thirsts, come you to the waters, and he who has no money; come you, buy, and eat; yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

2 Hvorfor bruker dere penger på det som ikke er brød, og deres arbeid på det som ikke metter? Lytt nøye til meg, og spis det som er godt, og la deres sjel glede seg i overflod.

Why do you spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which doesn't satisfy? listen diligently to me, and eat you that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

3 Bøy øret, og kom til meg; hør, så skal deres sjel leve. Jeg vil inngå en evig pakt med dere, de trofaste nådeløftene til David.

Turn your ear, and come to me; hear, and your soul shall live: and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

4 Se, jeg har satt ham som et vitne for folkene, en leder og kommandant for folkene.

Behold, I have given him for a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander to the peoples.

5 Se, du skal kalle på et folk du ikke kjenner, og et folk som ikke kjente deg skal løpe til deg, på grunn av Yahweh din Gud, og for Israels Hellige; for han har herliggjort deg.

Behold, you shall call a nation that you don't know; and a nation that didn't know you shall run to you, because of Yahweh your God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he has glorified you.

6 Søk Yahweh mens han er å finne; kall på ham mens han er nær!

Seek you Yahweh while he may be found; call you on him while he is near:

7 La den ugudelige forlate sin vei, og den urettferdige sine tanker; la ham vende om til Yahweh, så vil han vise nåde, og til vår Gud, for han vil stort tilgi.

let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to Yahweh, and he will have mercy on him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

8 For mine tanker er ikke deres tanker, heller ikke er deres veier mine veier, sier Yahweh.

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says Yahweh.

9 For som himmelen er høyere enn jorden, så er mine veier høyere enn deres veier, og mine tanker enn deres tanker.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

10 For som regnet og snøen faller fra himmelen, og ikke vender tilbake dit uten å vanne jorden, og få den til å spire og gi såkorn til den som sår og brød til den som eter;

For as the rain comes down and the snow from the sky, and doesn't return there, but waters the earth, and makes it bring forth and bud, and gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater;

11 slik skal mitt ord være som går ut fra min munn: det skal ikke vende tomt tilbake til meg, men det skal utføre det som jeg vil, og det skal ha fremgang i det jeg sendte det til.

so shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

12 For dere skal gå ut med glede, og bli ført fram i fred; fjellene og haugene skal juble foran dere, og alle trærne på marken skal klappe i hendene.

For you shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing; and all the trees of the fields shall clap their hands.

13 I stedet for torner skal det vokse sypresser; og i stedet for tistler skal det vokse myrter: og det skal være for Yahweh til et navn, et evig tegn som ikke skal utslettes.

Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree; and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to Yahweh for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
