1 Dette er reisene til Israels barn, da de dro ut fra Egyptens land i sine hærer under Moses og Arons ledelse.

These are the journeys of the children of Israel, when they went forth out of the land of Egypt by their hosts under the hand of Moses and Aaron.

2 Moses nedtegnet uttogene deres etter Yahwehs befaling: og dette er deres reiser i henhold til deres uttog.

Moses wrote their goings out according to their journeys by the commandment of Yahweh: and these are their journeys according to their goings out.

3 De dro fra Ramses i den første måneden, på den femtende dagen av den første måneden; dagen etter påsken dro Israels barn ut med løftet hånd for øynene av alle egypterne,

They traveled from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the next day after the Passover the children of Israel went out with a high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians,

4 mens egypterne begravde alle sine førstefødte, som Yahweh hadde slått iblant dem: over deres guder hadde også Yahweh fattet dom.

while the Egyptians were burying all their firstborn, whom Yahweh had struck among them: on their gods also Yahweh executed judgments.

5 Israels barn dro fra Ramses og slo leir i Sukkot.

The children of Israel traveled from Rameses, and encamped in Succoth.

6 De dro fra Sukkot og slo leir i Etam, som ligger i utkanten av villmarken.

They traveled from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, which is in the edge of the wilderness.

7 De dro fra Etam og vendte tilbake til Pihahirot, som ligger foran Baal-Sefon: og de slo leir foran Migdol.

They traveled from Etham, and turned back to Pihahiroth, which is before Baal Zephon: and they encamped before Migdol.

8 De dro fra foran Hahirot og gikk gjennom havet og inn i villmarken: og de gikk tre dagsreiser i Etams ørken og slo leir i Mara.

They traveled from before Hahiroth, and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness: and they went three days' journey in the wilderness of Etham, and encamped in Marah.

9 De dro fra Mara og kom til Elim: i Elim var det tolv vannkilder og sytti palmer; og de slo leir der.

They traveled from Marah, and came to Elim: and in Elim were twelve springs of water, and seventy palm trees; and they encamped there.

38 Aron presten gikk opp til Hor-fjellet etter Yahwehs befaling, og døde der, det var i det førtiende året etter Israels barn dro ut av Egyptens land, i den femte måneden, på den første dagen av måneden.

Aaron the priest went up into Mount Hor at the commandment of Yahweh, and died there, in the fortieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month.

39 Aron var hundre og tjuetre år da han døde på Hor-fjellet.

Aaron was one hundred twenty-three years old when he died in Mount Hor.

40 Kanaáneren, kongen av Arad, som bodde i sør i Kanaans land, hørte at Israels barn kom.

The Canaanite, the king of Arad, who lived in the South in the land of Canaan, heard of the coming of the children of Israel.

They traveled from Mount Hor, and encamped in Zalmonah.

42 De dro fra Salmona og slo leir i Punon.

They traveled from Zalmonah, and encamped in Punon.

43 De dro fra Punon og slo leir i Obot.

They traveled from Punon, and encamped in Oboth.

44 De dro fra Obot og slo leir i Ije-Abarim, ved grensen til Moab.

They traveled from Oboth, and encamped in Iye-abarim, in the border of Moab.

45 De dro fra Ijim og slo leir i Dibon-Gad.

They traveled from Iyim, and encamped in Dibon-gad.

46 De dro fra Dibon-Gad og slo leir i Almon-Diblataim.

They traveled from Almon Diblathaim, and encamped in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo.

48 De dro fra Abarims fjell og slo leir på Moabs sletteland ved Jordan, nær Jeriko.

They traveled from the mountains of Abarim, and encamped in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.

49 De slo leir ved Jordan, fra Bet-Jeshimot til Abel-Sittim på Moabs sletteland.

They encamped by the Jordan, from Beth-jeshimoth even to Abel Shittim in the plains of Moab.

50 Yahweh talte til Moses på Moabs sletteland ved Jordan, nær Jeriko, og sa:

Yahweh spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,

51 Snakk til Israels barn og si til dem: Når dere går over Jordan inn i Kanaans land,

Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them, When you pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan,

52 skal dere drive ut alle landets innbyggere foran dere, og ødelegge alle deres utskårne steiner, og ødelegge alle deres støpte bilder, og rive ned alle deres offersteder.

then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their figured [stones], and destroy all their molten images, and demolish all their high places:

53 Dere skal innta landet og bo der, for jeg har gitt det til dere til eiendom.

and you shall take possession of the land, and dwell therein; for to you have I given the land to possess it.

54 Dere skal fordele landet ved lodd etter familiene deres; den store skal dere gi stor arvedel, og den lille skal dere gi liten arvedel: der hvor loddet faller for noen, det skal være hans; etter stammenes fedre skal dere arve.

You shall inherit the land by lot according to your families; to the more you shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer you shall give the less inheritance: wherever the lot falls to any man, that shall be his; according to the tribes of your fathers shall you inherit.

55 Men hvis dere ikke driver ut landets innbyggere foran dere, da skal de dere lar bli igjen blant dere, være som pigger i øynene deres og torner i sidene deres, og de vil plage dere i landet dere bor i.

But if you will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then shall those who you let remain of them be as pricks in your eyes, and as thorns in your sides, and they shall vex you in the land in which you dwell.

56 Da skal det skje at hva jeg tenkte å gjøre mot dem, det vil jeg gjøre mot dere.

It shall happen that as I thought to do to them, so will I do to you.
