2 Velsignet være Herrens navn, fra nå og til evig tid.

Blessed be the name of Yahweh, From this time forth and forevermore.

3 Fra soloppgang til solnedgang skal Herrens navn lovprises.

From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, Yahweh's name is to be praised.

4 Herren er opphøyd over alle nasjoner, hans herlighet over himmelen.

Yahweh is high above all nations, His glory above the heavens.

5 Hvem er som Herren, vår Gud, som har sin trone i det høye,

Who is like Yahweh, our God, Who has his seat on high,

6 som bøyer seg ned for å se i himmelen og på jorden?

Who stoops down to see in heaven and in the earth?

7 Han reiser den fattige opp fra støvet, løfter den trengende fra askehaugene;

He raises up the poor out of the dust. Lifts up the needy from the ash heap;

8 for å sette ham sammen med fyrster, ja, med folkets fyrster.

That he may set him with princes, Even with the princes of his people.

9 Han gir den barnløse kvinne et hjem, som en glad mor til barn. Halleluja!
