Herrens ord kom også til meg og sa:

The word of the LORD also came unto me, saying,

Menneskesønn, du bor midt iblant et opprørsk folk, som har øyne, men ikke ser, og ører, men ikke hører; for de er et opprørsk folk.

Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they are a rebellious house.

Derfor, menneskesønn, pakk dine ting som for en flytting og flytt bort om dagen foran deres øyne; flytt fra ditt sted til et annet sted foran deres øyne, kanskje de vil legge merke til det, selv om de er et opprørsk folk.

Therefore, thou son of man, prepare thee stuff for removing, and remove by day in their sight; and thou shalt remove from thy place to another place in their sight: it may be they will consider, though they be a rebellious house.

Så skal du bringe ut dine ting om dagen foran deres øyne, som ting for en flytting. Og du skal gå ut om kvelden foran deres øyne, som de som går i fangenskap.

Then shalt thou bring forth thy stuff by day in their sight, as stuff for removing: and thou shalt go forth at even in their sight, as they that go forth into captivity.

Grav gjennom veggen foran deres øyne, og ta tingene ut der.

Dig thou through the wall in their sight, and carry out thereby.

Bær det på skuldrene dine foran deres øyne i skumringen, og skjul ansiktet ditt, så du ikke ser jorden. For jeg har satt deg som et tegn for Israels hus.

In their sight shalt thou bear it upon thy shoulders, and carry it forth in the twilight: thou shalt cover thy face, that thou see not the ground: for I have set thee for a sign unto the house of Israel.

Og jeg gjorde som jeg ble pålagt: Jeg tok mine ting ut om dagen som ting for fangenskap, og om kvelden gravde jeg gjennom veggen med hendene mine; jeg tok det ut i skumringen og bar det på mine skuldre foran deres øyne.

And I did so as I was commanded: I brought forth my stuff by day, as stuff for captivity, and in the even I digged through the wall with mine hand; I brought it forth in the twilight, and I bare it upon my shoulder in their sight.

Om morgenen kom Herrens ord til meg:

And in the morning came the word of the LORD unto me, saying,

Menneskesønn, sier ikke Israels hus, det opprørske folk, til deg: Hva gjør du?

Son of man, hath not the house of Israel, the rebellious house, said unto thee, What doest thou?

Svar dem: Så sier Herren Gud: Denne byrden angår fyrsten i Jerusalem og hele Israels hus som er der.

Say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; This burden concerneth the prince in Jerusalem, and all the house of Israel that are among them.

Si: Jeg er et tegn for dere. Slik som jeg har gjort, skal det også gjøres mot dem. De skal bli flyttet og gå i fangenskap.

Say, I am your sign: like as I have done, so shall it be done unto them: they shall remove and go into captivity.

Fyrsten blant dem skal bære tingene på skuldrene sine i skumringen og gå ut. De skal grave gjennom veggen for å ta tingene ut derfra; han skal dekke sitt ansikt, så han ikke ser jorden med øynene.

And the prince that is among them shall bear upon his shoulder in the twilight, and shall go forth: they shall dig through the wall to carry out thereby: he shall cover his face, that he see not the ground with his eyes.

Jeg vil også kaste mitt nett over ham, og han skal bli fanget i min snare. Jeg skal føre ham til Babylon, til kaldeernes land, men han skal ikke se det, og der skal han dø.

My net also will I spread upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare: and I will bring him to Babylon to the land of the Chaldeans; yet shall he not see it, though he shall die there.

Jeg skal spre alle rundt ham som hjelper ham, og alle hans styrker, for alle vinder, og jeg vil trekke sverdet etter dem.

And I will scatter toward every wind all that are about him to help him, and all his bands; and I will draw out the sword after them.

Og de skal innse at jeg er Herren når jeg sprer dem blant nasjonene og sprer dem i landene.

And they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall scatter them among the nations, and disperse them in the countries.

Men jeg skal la noen få av dem unnslippe sverdet, hunger og pest, så de kan fortelle om alle sine avskyeligheter blant de folkene de kommer til. Og de skal innse at jeg er Herren.

But I will leave a few men of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence; that they may declare all their abominations among the heathen whither they come; and they shall know that I am the LORD.

Herrens ord kom også til meg og sa:

Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

Menneskesønn, spis ditt brød med skjelving og drikk ditt vann med ustøhet og bekymring.

Son of man, eat thy bread with quaking, and drink thy water with trembling and with carefulness;

Og si til folket i landet: Så sier Herren Gud om innbyggerne i Jerusalem og Israels land: De skal spise sitt brød med bekymring og drikke sitt vann med skrekk, så landet blir øde fra alt det er fylt med, på grunn av volden til alle dem som bor der.

And say unto the people of the land, Thus saith the Lord GOD of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and of the land of Israel; They shall eat their bread with carefulness, and drink their water with astonishment, that her land may be desolate from all that is therein, because of the violence of all them that dwell therein.

Byene som er bebodd skal bli lagt øde, og landet skal bli ødemark. Og dere skal innse at jeg er Herren.

And the cities that are inhabited shall be laid waste, and the land shall be desolate; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

Og Herrens ord kom til meg og sa:

And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

Menneskesønn, hva er det ordtaket dere har i Israels land som sier: Dagene drar ut, og hver visjon slår feil?

Son of man, what is that proverb that ye have in the land of Israel, saying, The days are prolonged, and every vision faileth?

Fortell dem derfor: Så sier Herren Gud: Jeg skal få dette ordtaket til å opphøre, og de skal ikke mer bruke det som et ordtak i Israel. Men si til dem: Dagene er nær, og oppfyllelsen av enhver visjon.

Tell them therefore, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will make this proverb to cease, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel; but say unto them, The days are at hand, and the effect of every vision.

For det skal ikke lenger være noen forfengelig visjon eller smigrende spådom i Israels hus.

For there shall be no more any vain vision nor flattering divination within the house of Israel.

For jeg er Herren: Jeg skal tale det jeg taler, og det skal bli oppfylt. Det skal ikke lenger drøye. I deres dager, dere opprørske folk, skal jeg si ordet og utføre det, sier Herren Gud.

For I am the LORD: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass; it shall be no more prolonged: for in your days, O rebellious house, will I say the word, and will perform it, saith the Lord GOD.

Herrens ord kom igjen til meg og sa:

Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

Menneskesønn, se, Israels hus sier: Visjonen han ser gjelder mange dager fremover, og han profeterer om tider som er langt unna.

Son of man, behold, they of the house of Israel say, The vision that he seeth is for many days to come, and he prophesieth of the times that are far off.

Derfor, si til dem: Så sier Herren Gud: Ingen av mine ord skal drøye lenger, men det ordet jeg har talt, det skal bli oppfylt, sier Herren Gud.

Therefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; There shall none of my words be prolonged any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be done, saith the Lord GOD.
