6 Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock in Horeb. You shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink." Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

11 Yahweh said to Moses, How long will this people despise me? and how long will they not believe in me, for all the signs which I have worked among them?
32 They angered him also at the waters of Meribah, So that Moses was troubled for their sakes;

26 Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,
27 How long [shall I bear] with this evil congregation, that murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.
7 You called in trouble, and I delivered you. I answered you in the secret place of thunder. I tested you at the waters of Meribah." Selah.
27 and you murmured in your tents, and said, Because Yahweh hated us, he has brought us forth out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us.
8 Then Amalek came and fought with Israel in Rephidim.

8 Take the rod, and assemble the congregation, you, and Aaron your brother, and speak you to the rock before their eyes, that it give forth its water; and you shall bring forth to them water out of the rock; so you shall give the congregation and their cattle drink.
2 There was no water for the congregation: and they assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron.
40 How often they rebelled against him in the wilderness, And grieved him in the desert!

9 Where your fathers tested me by proving me, And saw my works for forty years.
34 Yahweh heard the voice of your words, and was angry, and swore, saying,

16 From there they traveled to Beer: that is the well of which Yahweh said to Moses, Gather the people together, and I will give them water.

7 Remember, don't forget, how you provoked Yahweh your God to wrath in the wilderness: from the day that you went forth out of the land of Egypt, until you came to this place, you have been rebellious against Yahweh.
8 Also in Horeb you provoked Yahweh to wrath, and Yahweh was angry with you to destroy you.
15 Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Yahweh our Banner.{Hebrew, Yahweh Nissi}
20 Behold, he struck the rock, so that waters gushed out, Streams overflowed. Can he give bread also? Will he provide flesh for his people?"
