Yet as the Lord God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father, to be King ouer Israel for euer (for in Iudah woulde he chuse a prince, & of the house of Iudah is the house of my father, & among the sonnes of my father he delited in me to make me King ouer all Israel)

And hee sayde, There remaineth yet a litle one behinde, that keepeth the sheepe. Then Samuel saide vnto Ishai, Sende and set him: for we will not sit downe, till he be come hither. 12 And he sent, and brought him in: and he was ruddie, & of a good countenance, and comely visage; the Lorde saide, Arise, and anoynt him: for this is he. 13 Then Samuel tooke the horne of oyle, and anoynted him in the middes of his brethren; the Spirit of the Lord came vpon Dauid, from that day forwarde: then Samuel rose vp, and went to Ramah.
Gen 49:8-9 : 8 Thou Iudah, thy brethre shal praise thee: thine hande shalbe in the necke of thine enemies: thy fathers sonnes shal bowe downe vnto thee. 9 Iudah, as a Lions whelpe shalt thou come vp from the spoyle, my sonne. He shall lye downe and couche as a Lion, and as a Lionesse: Who shall stirre him vp? 10 The scepter shall not depart from Iudah, nor a Lawegiuer from betweene his feete, vntill Shiloh come, and the people shall be gathered vnto him.

Ps 89:16-27 : 16 They shall reioyce continually in thy Name, and in thy righteousnes shall they exalt them selues. 17 For thou art the glory of their strength, and by thy fauour our hornes shall be exalted. 18 For our shield apperteineth to the Lorde, and our King to the holy one of Israel. 19 Thou spakest then in a vision vnto thine Holy one, and saydest, I haue layde helpe vpon one that is mightie: I haue exalted one chosen out of the people. 20 I haue found Dauid my seruant: with mine holy oyle haue I anoynted him. 21 Therefore mine hande shall be established with him, and mine arme shall strengthen him. 22 The enemie shall not oppresse him, neither shall the wicked hurt him. 23 But I will destroy his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him. 24 My trueth also and my mercie shall be with him, and in my Name shall his horne be exalted. 25 I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the floods. 26 He shall cry vnto mee, Thou art my Father, my God and the rocke of my saluation. 27 Also I wil make him my first borne, higher then the Kings of the earth.

2 Sam 7:8-9 : 8 Nowe therefore so say vnto my seruant Dauid, Thus saieth the Lord of hostes, I tooke thee from the sheepecote following the sheepe, that thou mightest bee ruler ouer my people, ouer Israel. 9 And I was with thee wheresoeuer thou hast walked, and haue destroyed all thine enemies out of thy sight, and haue made thee a great name, like vnto the name of the great men that are in the earth. 10 (Also I will appoynt a place for my people Israel, and will plant it, that they may dwell in a place of their owne, and moue no more, neither shal wicked people trouble them any more as before time, 11 And since the time that I set Iudges ouer my people of Israel) & I will giue thee rest from al thine enemies: also the Lorde telleth thee, that he will make thee an house. 12 And when thy daies bee fulfilled, thou shalt sleepe with thy fathers, and I wil set vp thy seede after thee, which shall proceede out of thy body, and will stablish his kingdome. 13 He shall buyld an house for my Name, & I will stablish ye throne of his kingdome for euer. 14 I will be his father, and hee shall bee my sonne: and if he sinne, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the plagues of the children of men. 15 But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I tooke it from Saul whome I haue put away before thee. 16 And thine house shall be stablished and thy kingdome for euer before thee, euen thy throne shalbe stablished for euer.
