I will endeuour therefore alwayes, that ye also may be able to haue remembrance of these things after my departing.

Deut 31:19-29 : 19 Now therefore write ye this song for you, and teach it the children of Israel: put it in their mouthes, that this song may be my witnesse against the children of Israel. 20 For I will bring them into the land (which I sware vnto their fathers) that floweth with milke and honie, and they shall eate, and fil them selues, and waxe fat: then shall they turne vnto other gods, and serue them, & contemne me, & breake my couenant. 21 And then when many aduersities and tribulations shall come vpon them, this song shall answere them to their face as a witnesse: for it shall not be forgotte out of the mouthes of their posteritie: for I knowe their imagination, which they goe about euen now, before I haue brought them into the lande which I sware. 22 Moses therefore wrote this song the same day and taught it the children of Israel. 23 And God gaue Ioshua the sonne of Nun a charge, and said, Be strong, and of a good courage: for thou shalt bring the children of Israel into the lande, which I sware vnto them, and I will be with thee. 24 And when Moses had made an ende of writing the wordes of this Lawe in a booke vntill he had finished them, 25 Then Moses commaunded the Leuites, which bare the Arke of the couenant of the Lorde, saying, 26 Take the booke of this Lawe, and put ye it in the side of the Arke of the couenant of the Lorde your God, that it may be there for a witnes against thee. 27 For I knowe thy rebellion and thy stiffe necke: beholde, I being yet aliue with you this day, ye are rebellious against the Lorde: howe much more then after my death? 28 Gather vnto me all the Elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speake these wordes in their audience, and call heauen and earth to recorde against them. 29 For I am sure that after my death ye will vtterly be corrupt and turne from the way, which I haue commaunded you: therefore euill will come vpon you at the length, because ye will comit euill in the sight of the Lorde, by prouoking him to anger through the worke of your hands.
Josh 24:24-29 : 24 And ye people saide vnto Ioshua, The Lord our God wil we serue, & his voyce wil we obey. 25 So Ioshua made a couenant with the people the same day, and gaue them an ordinance and lawe in Shechem. 26 And Ioshua wrote these woordes in the booke of the Lawe of God, and tooke a great stone, and pitched it there vnder an oke that was in the Sanctuarie of the Lord. 27 And Ioshua saide vnto all the people, Beholde, this stone shall be a witnesse vnto vs: for it hath heard all the wordes of the Lord which he spake with vs: it shall be therefore a witnesse against you, lest yee denie your God. 28 Then Ioshua let the people depart, euery man vnto his inheritance. 29 And after these things Ioshua the sonne of Nun, the seruaunt of the Lord died, being an hundreth and ten yeeres olde.
1 Chr 29:1-9 : 1 Moreouer Dauid the King sayde vnto all the Congregation, God hath chosen Salomon mine onely sonne yong and tender, and the worke is great: for this house is not for man, but for the Lord God. 2 Now I haue prepared with all my power for the house of my God, golde for vessels of golde, and siluer for them of siluer, and brasse for things of brasse, yron for things of yron, & wood for things of wood, and onix stones, and stones to be set, and carbuncle stones and of diuers colours, and all precious stones, and marble stones in aboundance. 3 Moreouer, because I haue delite in the house of my God, I haue of mine owne golde and siluer, which I haue giuen to the house of my God, beside all that I haue prepared for the house of the Sanctuarie, 4 Euen three thousand talents of gold of the golde of Ophir, and seuen thousand talents of fined siluer to ouerlay the walles of the houses. 5 The golde for the things of golde, and the siluer for things of siluer, and for all the worke by the handes of artificers: and who is willing to fill his hand to day vnto the Lord? 6 So the princes of the families, and the princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captaines of thousands and of hundreths, with the rulers of the Kings worke, offred willingly, 7 And they gaue for the seruice of the house of God fiue thousande talents of golde, and ten thousand pieces, and ten thousand talents of siluer, and eighteene thousand talents of brasse, and one hundreth thousand talents of yron. 8 And they with whom precious stones were found, gaue them to the treasure of ye house of the Lord, by the hand of Iehiel the Gershunnite. 9 And the people reioyced when they offred willingly: for they offred willingly vnto ye Lord, with a perfite heart; Dauid the King also reioyced with great ioy. 10 Therefore Dauid blessed the Lord before all the Congregation, and Dauid sayde, Blessed be thou, O Lorde God, of Israel our father, for euer and euer. 11 Thine, O Lord, is greatnesse & power, and glory, and victorie & praise: for all that is in heauen and in earth is thine: thine is the kingdome, O Lord, and thou excellest as head ouer all. 12 Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest ouer all, and in thine hand is power and strength, and in thine hande it is to make great, and to giue strength vnto all. 13 Now therefore our God, we thanke thee, and prayse thy glorious Name. 14 But who am I, and what is my people, that we shoulde be able to offer willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee: and of thine owne hand we haue giuen thee. 15 For we are stragers before thee, & soiourners, like all our fathers: our dayes are like ye shadowe vpon the earth, & there is none abiding. 16 O Lorde our God, all this abundance that we haue prepared to buylde thee an house for thine holy Name, is of thine hand & all is thine. 17 I knowe also, my God, that thou tryest the heart, and hast pleasure in righteousnesse: I haue offred willingly in the vprightnesse of mine heart all these things: now also haue I seene thy people which are found here, to offer vnto thee willingly with ioy. 18 O Lord God of Abraham, Izhak and Israel our fathers, keepe this for euer in the purpose, and the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their hearts vnto thee. 19 And giue vnto Salomon my sonne a perfit heart to keepe thy commaundements, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to doe all things, and to builde the house which I haue prepared. 20 And Dauid said to all the Congregation, Now blesse the Lord your God; all the Congregation blessed the Lord God of their fathers, and bowed downe their heads, and worshipped the Lord and the King.
