But that it be noysed no farther among the people, let vs threaten and charge them, that they speake hencefoorth to no man in this Name.

Jer 20:1-3 : 1 When Pashur, the sonne of Immer, the Priest, which was appointed gouernour in the house of the Lorde, heard that Ieremiah prophecied these things, 2 Then Pashur smote Ieremiah the Prophet, and put him in the stockes that were in the hie gate of Beniamin which was by the House of the Lorde. 3 And on the morning, Pashur brought Ieremiah out of the stockes. Jer 38:4 : 4 Therefore the Princes sayd vnto the King, We beseech you, let this man be put to death: for thus hee weakeneth the hands of the men of warre that remaine in this citie, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such wordes vnto them: for this man seeketh not the wealth of this people, but the hurt.
